Dr. Anthony J Margherita

Dr. Margherita has helped me manage my back pain for 10 years. In addition to several procedures to help me, he has managed my pain medication. I recently had a communication issue regarding a medication refill, but that did not warrant the previous negative review I left. Dr. Margherita has been great for the past 10 years.

Dr. Margherita is truly a clear and thorough communicator with patients. Engages patient in the entire process during appointment - providing explanations, and showing a medical diagram of condition. Very interested in accommodating patient's needs and schedule. I cannot provide a high enough recommendation.

Insisted I needed a MRI and cut off my physical therapy….do not recommend!

Had lower back issues. Dr. Margherita located the cause, sent me to Cora Physical Therapy and so far after a couple of months, the pain is gone. I highly recommend Dr. Margherita.

Had an excellent experience with the Dr and his staff and after only a few visits I am pretty much pain free!! Highly recommend!!!

Saw Dr. Margherita for the first time today and I was extremely thankful he was recommended to me. He is very helpful, listens carefully, and answers all questions I asked him. I was apprehensive and nervous to get an EMG and nerve study, but the office staff and Dr. Margherita put my mind at ease once I arrived. He has wonderful bed side manner and is very professional and knowledgeable. Everyone there was courteous, helpful, and very pleasant. I highly recommend Dr. Margherita to anyone needing a doctor for your nerve pain or other medical issues.

Dr Margherita has treated me twice with a remarkable recovery. Thoroughly explaining every aspect of the process and final procedure. Deserving of the recognition as one of the top doctors in the country. Suffered from headaches for over a year. He diagnosed the problem and provided a path for treatment. It worked!

I'd been having rotator cuff problems from years of playing competitive softball and had visited a couple of surgeons for advice. Basically. they said "When the pain gets bad enough come back and see me!" Dr. Margherita at West County Spine and Sports was recommended to me by a teammate and he was a breath of fresh air. I decided to visit his office and he was able to size up the situation very quickly. We set up a visit schedule for therapy and then a regimen of exercises to do at home. After 4 months I am completely pain free, yeah!!!! No Advil, no nothing! I don't believe in miracles but I do believe in Dr. Margherita. Now, I'm not going to go out and see how far I can throw a softball...but my shoulder feels like a million bucks. They took my insurance which also made it real easy. Dr Marg's is the best!

Dr. Margherita very quickly diagnosed the problem with my shoulder and after an MRI, an injection and therapy my pain is gone.

I have been a patient of Dr. Margherita for almost 15 years. I suffer from many chronic conditions. I trust him implicitly. He I s the consummate professional as is the office staff. The staff is caring responsive and awesome to me. I highly recommend.

I have been recommending Dr. Margherita since my first appointment & experience with his expertise at diagnosis. He is the best, Doctor.

Dr. Margherita has been able to successfully treat my aches and pains over the years. He listens well, diagnoses correctly and treats with overwhelming success.

My husband and I have both seen Dr Margherita and have referred him to quite a few friends, all of whom he has helped. I'm grateful that there is a doctor who will suggest alternatives and try to find a solution without the use of drugs.

Dr. Margherita is a very personable man and quick to pinpoint the problem. His nurse practitioner is a sharp dedicated young woman and the staff is warm and friendly.

This place was absolutely no help and a waste of time. They sent my wife to get three different scans which wasted 3 apts and we only saw the real doctor twice. The other 2 times we saw this lady who had no clue what to do. She would make us sit in the room while she went and talked to the real doctor for at least 30 min both times as my wife is sitting there in severe pain. So after only 5 visits they said you should see a surgeon. So I guess they want my 25 yr old wife to have back surgery.....that doesnt sound like a good idea to me. Also this is the worst office staff I have ever worked with! They schedule us an apt then when we show up they say we aren't on the books and have to continually ask the Dr about stuff because they dont know what they are doing! I have been seeing Dr. Margherita for over 20 years he has helped me through several issues extreme pain.I Highly recommend him.

I appreciated that Dr. Margherita really listened to me, then took a reasonable approach to solving my problem. He explained the causes for the discomfort in my neck and shoulder then laid out the steps of what we could do to fix it. One short prescription and some easy exercises did the job, but I know that there are other options if the pain ever returns. I will definitely return to Dr. Margherita's office if I have other problems with chronic pain.

I was referred to Dr. Margherita for hip pain while running. Dr. Margherita and staff were friendly and professional. I was unable to run when I saw Dr. Margherita the first appointment and now I am running pain free. Highly recommend!

Dr. Margherita has treated me back and hip issues for approximately 5 years. He always listens and takes the time to understand my condition.

Dr. Margherita is great at finding out what is really the problem and prescribing the right treatment. the 1st doctor I went to couldn't find the problem and wanted to start injections to my back. Dr. Margherita found an injured tendon problem in leg and hip . Ordered P.T. and now I am well

I went to Dr. Margherita for knee pain a month before a planned camping trip. The office got me an appointment quickly. When I got there, everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. M is very thorough - he LISTENS and asks questions, then probes and manipulates to isolate the issue. I ended up with X-ray, MRI and ultrasound, as each imaging method gives you different info. My injured knee was completely fixed in time for lots of hiking. Couldn't be more pleased!

Met Dr. Margherita when I was a participant in a drug study for arthritic knee pain. Both of my knees were arthritic, but we had to choose only one for this study. After making our choice, he asked if no other Dr. M told me there were other procedures to relief the knee pain in my other knee. I returned to see him after the study because of his communication skills, knowledge of my type of condition, educational background & bedside manner.

Dr Margherita is an excellent doctor. I had severe pain for months in my shoulder. He helped me understand the issue and, through physical therapy, resolve the problem. I am nearly back to normal and, by continuing my physical therapy at home, can continue to be pain free.

Excellent care of joint problems from arthritis & pain.

When I went to see Dr. Margherita I could barely walk from my truck to his office. The back pain was unbearable. In a matter of 3 months he was able to give me nearly complete relief. The best part is that he didn't just give me meds to mask the pain. He went to the cause of the pain and eliminated it. Thank you to Dr. Margherita and to his excellent staff. For 9 years I struggled with neck pain. I saw several different specialist and spent countless years in physical therapy. I had pleaded with doctors to order MRI’s, x rays and any tests that would let them find out what was causing my pain. The only answer any other specialist would give me was “here’s a prescription for pain medication.” I was referred to Dr. Margherita by a patient of mine. When I called his office, the receptionist took the time to find out what was going on and why I needed an appointment. Due to the amount of pain, she worked me into his schedule. Dr. Margherita is the first doctor that listened to what was going on. He wasn’t experiencing my pain, but he didn’t want me to live with it anymore. He jumped into action. He ordered X-rays which lead to an MRI, which lead to a nuclear medicine test. Every step of the way, he kept me informed. He explained what he was doing AND why. By taking the time to understand prior treatments I had, what helped and what didn’t, he was able to form a plan of action that has me more comfortable than I’ve ever been. For that, I am grateful. Dr. Margherita and his staff are amazing. I was struggling with back pain for 2 years having bounced to 7 different doctors, each with a different diagnosis. I finally found Dr. Margherita and he was the first to take the time to analyze the situation, run the proper tests, and discover the root of the problem (herniated disc). He took the time to explain the situation and ensure my understanding of the problem was correct. After exploring several rounds of moderate treatments (steroid injections, etc...), he recommended an excellent surgeon once it became obvious surgery was the only course of action left. I am recovering now and feel that I have my life back. It is also important to note that his staff has been amazing, helping me get paperwork between their office and the surgeon's office in a timely manner and always being friendly and courteous. Nothing but good things to say here. Great doctor. Great office staff. They all listen to the patient. Dr. Margherita explained exactly what he thought my treatment should be and gave me options to consider. He was right and my problem is gone. Dr. Margherita listens and trouble shoots. He truly wants to solve his patients problems and get them to live a pain free life. After 9 years of dealing with chronic neck issues and being pushed from one doctor to another, Dr. Margherita made an effort to solve my problem. Dr. Margherita is very professional and has always helped me recover from my injuries in a very timely manner. I was recommended to him three years ago for my I-T band injury and I thought I would never run again . . . I was wrong - I have taken 1st place in two races and 2nd place in three races since then!! I recently visited him for a knee injury and it's been only three weeks and I'm well on the road to recovery. He is an exceptional doctor. Thank you Dr. Margherita!!

Dr. Margherita and his staff have been very helpful working with me. I have some chronic medical issues that have required a number of different therapies and medications. I am pleased with their ongoing attention towards helping me. With there help, I have been able to continue working a very full work schedule and enjoy most recreational activities I was having difficulty with in the past.

Dr. Margherita is an excellent doctor! He has been instrumental in relieving my back, neck and shoulder pains and getting me back to the gym. His expertise helped pinpoint the cause of my pains, thereby helping to alleviate them. I would highly recommend him to anyone who suffers from pain and is unable to continue their daily and gym activities. I have used him several times now and have had great success every time! Highly, highly recommend!!!

Although Dr. Margherita was able to point out the problem within minutes of seeing him, the first appointment I made with him I didn't get to see him. They sent in an assistant who was very kind and adhered to my needs (or so I thought). I spoke about two problems that I had, one with my back, one with my my knee. He applied tape to my shoulders to reposition my thoracic into cervical spine to improve my posture. On the follow up visit I learned that in order to have gotten anything done with my knee, (which was my original complaint) I would've had to speak with the doctor. I was very upset and spoke to customer service over the phone (after multiple calls trying to navigate there bugged voicemail system). She spoke with a tone that rang with "that's not my problem" and that "I'd have to pay for another appointment". And so I did, my back and knee had been bothering me for years and so I just wanted to get it over with. I went back and after I finally got in to see him, like I said, he found the problem very quickly. It's been 2 months since then and I just received a bill. Not only did they charge me for the first appointment that accomplished nothing other than reconfirming I had bad posture. But they charged be another 100$ just for the tape they put on my back. They won't respond to voicemails I leave in concern over the bill. And after speaking to customer service again. All I can hear is "not my problem". I highly recommend finding a different place to go. I've seen one or two other places since near the area and with much greater satisfaction with much more reasonable pricing. No one needs hidden expenses. Go somewhere that cares. I had been through 2 1/2 years of treatment with multiple doctors and physical therapists before seeing Dr Margherita. In the first visit he was able to figure out the problem and set me on the right course for the first time. Dr. Margherita helped me deal with pain that I'd given up on ever resolving. He was incredibly thorough, took nothing for granted, solved my problem. He's knowledgeable, has great bedside manner, and gives back to the community by always bringing in interns and students to shadow and work with him. Sometimes his front desk staff can be frustrating (I could never tell the office hours, or get a reply to voicemails in a timely manner) but that seems to have improved in the past month or so.

I have been a patient for 5+ YEARS of Dr. Margherita. Love him, & staff!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Margherita for ANY Spine &/or Sports injury issue! Dr.Margherita has been a St. Louis 'Best Doctor' for at least 6 years,has a fantastic 'bedside' manor. He Is VERY knowledgeable, (I have a quite rare Spine disorder,& he was able to diagnose it in less than 20 minutes.) Dr.Margherita will take the time to,& has ALWAYS answered ANY questions I've had, until I 100% understand! + is rarely late!

I swear by Dr. Margeurita---I know without his help I would have ended up with back surgery. He is currently treating my elbow!

He might be good if you have a problem he wants to fix. He couldn't get a handle on what was causing my pain and then never returned my calls.

Dr Margherita has helped with several issues over the past 28 years .My first visit to see I had been in severe pain for a few years couldn't do much and all other Doctor's said I would have to live with the pain and learn to manage it. I thank God for Dr Magherita after he put me in a program to strength my back No surgery I was able to resume a normal live style I even split wood and etc.. He has help many for my friends over the years:) My family and my Grandchildern thank you .God Bless
