Dr Ariel Cortez NEARLY KILLED MY SON BY OVER SUBSCRIBING BENZODIAZEPINES, antidepressants, sleep aids, ADD meds… starting at 16 years old and over the course of 10 years, Dr Ariel Cortez had my son on A DAILY DOSE OF 8 mg of Clonazepam and 1 mg of Xanax in addition to about 8 other cocktail of drugs including Adderall. He is known on the streets as the doctor to go to to get the drugs you want without limits. The medical board has many complaints filled against him for his negligence and malpractice behavior.. Only by the strength and determination of my son and the grace of God did my son survive. HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE REVOKED

I always dread going to the doctor, but Dr. Cortes was very friendly, thorough and prompt, and was able to make it an enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Cortes is always friendly and courteous. He takes the time to listen to patient needs and works with you to make a medical plan fit for you. I highly recommend Dr. Cortes and his staff.

Treated unprofessionally, Dr. Cortes was rude and agitated when meeting with me, and I was the first patient that day. Did not explain the mechanism of action of the medicine I was prescribed or how/when to take it. Had the worst experience with a physician I have had in my life, will not return. The office also has very long wait times, consistently 45 min.

Scripps opened this office a few weeks ago moving from Del Mar to Solana Beach. It is a great location with plenty of parking. I had a problem with my ear which has been continuing for over 6 months. I went to this practice not knowing any of the doctors there and was given an appointment with Dr. Cortes. I was impressed with his bedside manner and he diagnosed my problem immediately and gave me a prescription for it. My prior doctor had misdiagnosed it and I have been experiencing a lot of discomfort over the last few months because of that. It is not an infection as I was told previously. Dr. Cortes speaks Spanish too so that will be plus for some patients. I loved the office, all the staff is so friendly, courteous and efficient. I am thinking of switching over to this practice after this experience with Dr. Cortes and the location and staff. Highly recommended.
