The first appt I had with the nurse was great. Very informative. The appt with the surgeon wasn't very informative. Didn't look at my images while he talked to us. I have NEVER seen any of my images. Doctor just showed a book with generic pictures.

He was/is kind, compassionate….and explanatory

I appreciate Dr. Vacca seeing me without an appointment. His nurse understood the sense of urgency in my voice and was able to "squeeze me in" between his appointment schedule. Great timing! My previous experience (2020) re: my lumbar back surgery was absolutely great. His staff and his personality was, and is, very much appreciated. Great people!

I just wanted to let you know that your awesome, and that's just in case nobody else has but you've probably already heard it today!

Doctor didn't know I had my 2nd MRI. Radiologist didn't compare MRI first to second. Know advice or plan from doctor. Doctor says exact same things everytime, like a broken record. Plus, my surgery left me in pain and need another surgery. Very poor experience at this place

This was my second back operation with Dr. Vacca and all went smooth and recovery was fast. I trust him and would never go any where else for any back or neck problems. ????

I really appreciate Dr Vaccas straight forward approach. Wonderful Dr and staff.

All staff are very courteous, kind and professional. I'm able to lie on my back for the first time in 20 years without my legs going numb. I would recommend their services to anyone in need for sure.

Dr. Vacca and his off is very efficient and friendly. Calls are always returned in a timely manner. Dr. Vacca makes it clear as to the problem and the choices to fix the problem. He did my back surgery four years ago. I was very pleased.

I went to see Dr. VACCA for an I.M.E. I was Very Nervous, but the Entire Staff made it a comfortable experience. Dr. Vacca & his "Student" were wonderful.

Joke of an office staff! They pay no attention, have no sympathy, and just string you along like a macaroni necklace. There is no personal care from staff and literally no empathy. When they're telling someone who needs an entire chunk of spine replaced to "just hang in there" and refuse to call them back, that's a load of crock! If I could give a NEGATIVE star review, I would. Dr. Vacca did a fantastic job removing a glioblastoma cancer tumor in my brain and because of his experience & knowledge, my memory and brain functions are 100% there! Dr. Vacca didn’t sugar coat things. I like that he explained the procedure and answered questions, but didn’t waste time trying to coddle me. He was friendly and had a great manor, but I want to know what’s going to happen, not sit there with someone trying to make it sound better than it is. He was great!

Dr. Vacca did an excellent job of listening to my problem, running some tests and discussing a range of possible treatments. I was completely satisfied with the visit.

Dr. Vacca cured the sciatica I experienced in both legs and hips. I would highly recommended him.

I saw Dr.Vacca for a second opinion for my back issues. He took the time to listen and explain what was going on. Even though he couldn't fix my issues which are soft tissue and ortho related, he provided me with referrals to doctors that maybe able to help. He didn't say " Sorry I can't help you have a nice day" which I have heard so many times over 9 years he said I may not be able to help but let's find you someone that can. I was looking for answers and I found them with my visit to Dr. Vacca. His staff are very friendly. It is a very welcoming environment. Thank Dr. Vacca and staff. I came with questions and left with answers!

I was hesitant to have a back surgery so I asked my doctor about Dr Vacca his answer was if I need a back surgery I would let Dr Vacca do it and yes Dr Vacca fixed my stenosis because my left shoulder was lower than my right one also fixed my sciatica in both legs and put rods and cage on l2 and l3 30 days after the operation I am walking and getting up without pain and every day I feel better and stronger thank you Dr Vacca I truly recommend him

I went to see Dr. Vacca after another "Surgeon" told my my issue was not spine related which IT WAS. He was very honest and straight forward which I feel some people would take as uncaring but I can assure you HE CARES. He has always answered my questions and made sure I had the best care. He and his staff have been helpful and always work hard to get me out of the pain I am in.

The first time I had Dr Vacca work on my back was to correct and finish work I had done to my back by another "Surgeon". That was years ago and now I need a tune up to the work done back then, which should last me the rest of my life. Life with pain is NO life!

I was seen before I even sat down and after the Nurse left Dr. Vacca was at the door in maybe a minute or two

Dr. Vacca was amazing and I can’t thank him enough for giving me my life back. I was extremely nervous about having surgery but the whole process couldn’t have gone smoother and he made sure to let me know what to expect. This man literally saved my life after a motorcycle accident where I died for fifteen minutes. I just can't thank him enoug! They even wanted to harvest my organs.

Our experience to obtain an appointment, get neurosurgeon assigned and see Dr Vacca was a very disappointing one. The clinic staff was NOT interested in assisting us, it took great amount of persistence and numerous calls to get our appointment for a severe tri- level cervical condition. We traveled 2 1/2 hour( one-way) for the appointment and had a feeling that Dr Vacca had no interest in offering the fast, most effective solution for my husband's condition because he was more conserved about.

This doctor has the personality of a wet sponge. He doesn't even review your chart before he comes in to speak to you. He says, "oh, you have an MRI?" and then goes out and looks at it. He has NO IDEA who you are or why you are there. Looks at you like you have a lot of nerve asking a question. And, answers none. Find another doctor. There must be better ones in Reno. I saw Dr. Vacca today for a 2nd opinion on my spinal condition. The MRI DVD I brought with me was corrupt, which made the visit pointless. Rather than have me reschedule an appointment, he waited while I went online and downloaded a new copy of the MRI. While waiting, he explained in detail the possible findings, surgical options, and resultant outcomes. After reviewing the downloaded MRI he suggested that a minimally invasive procedure with quick recovery time might be an option for me; this was the first I had heard of this option. I left with confidence that I had received a thorough, professional and thoughtful review of my condition. Dr. Vacca is a surgeon; he is brisk and gets to the point with precision and thoroughness. He educates the patient about a complex and complicated subject using simple terms and understandable examples. I would suggest that prospective patients prepare themselves for the conversation by doing a little research in advance, so they can better absorb what he will be explaining to them. Some might complain that he lacks empathy and patience. I would suggest to them that they seek elsewhere for hand-holding and coddling, and spend their time with Dr. Vacca learning the specifics of their condition and the solutions he can offer. I had C3-C7 replacement. With bone spurs pressing into spinal column. Dr Vacca explained clearly what was wrong, what needed to be done and how it would fix my neck pain. At surgery he had a Nerve specialist there and my surgery was done as planned. It takes awhile to heal, but Dr Vacca was wonderful at post-op appts and I am so thankful for his abilities. A friend took me to Dr Vacca for a second opinion. If I had done what original surgeon suggested, I would have been in a world of hurt.
