Dr. David E Sawcer

Dr. Sawcer has been my dermatologist for 10 years, during which time he has performed many mole checks, some laser procedures, and frozen off plenty of nasty little bits. He's an excellent physician, very knowledgeable, and very trustworthy. I recommend him highly.

Really professional and explains his diagnosis. On the expensive side but WELL worth it! Very positive experience!

At USC, Dr. Sawcer breezed through a quick exam and said I had no skin spots to be concerned about. His speech was clipped and his manner a bit condescending. I brought 6 of my ongoing dermatological RX’s with me to discuss. We got through 2 of these before the dr. exited. He went and sat in his office which I walked by it turned out on my way out, receiving no acknowledgement. During the exam I had made one RX request to have a topical prescribed by my old Kaiser MD filled. In the exam Dr. S agreed to write an RX for this. The response I got to an inquiry on the RX request later was that he would not write the RX unless I provided “a progress report from Kaiser”, an unreasonable new add-on step. This had not been stated in the face-to-face exam. I cannot recommend Dr. S to others due to the condescension, the breezy, incomplete exam, the duplicity re actions to be taken, and the spotty/unreliable responses to my inquiries.

I saw him 3 times and he was always late to the appointment. The front desk would call him and ask him if he is going to show up and he constantly blamed traffic. Aside the tardiness, he is very stuck up, rude and condescending. None of his "recommendations" came even remotely close of helping, and their office had the audacity to send me bills for hundreds of dollars months later.

Professional, direct, and honest.

Completely unprepared for my patient encounter. Failed to review my chart for biopsy result from DermatoPathology and did not link results with clinical findings. My patient encounter as posted to the University portal system incorrectly listed another patient's address and phone number.

Dr. Sawcer is the most experienced dermatologist I've found, so I've kept coming back for 10 years now. Highly recommended. However, USC's billing system leaves a few things to be desired, and it can take a while to get an appointment. Overall well worth it though.

Dr Sawcer instills a great sense of trust in his abilities.

Dr. Sawcer is the best dermatologist around. He listens, understands, and knows what to do. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He's excellent. Also, his staff is quite knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient.
