I have been with Dr. Spector for years and have always felt well cared for, respected and treated with great professionalism. I highly recommend his practice to anyone looking for a primary care provider.

So I have been going to Dr. Spector for 10 years now and hes a great guy and doctor. He never rushes, takes his time to hear you out and truly wants to make whatever medically is wrong with you to make better. Honestly I am baffled by some of these poor reviews, would highly recommend to anyone.

Recently my husband's prescription was getting short and he needed to change providers, thereby requiring a new script be faxed in a timely manner. I called and the matter was taken care of within the hour, as I received notice from the new pharmacy that they were working on the prescription. Dr. Spector and his staff care deeply about their patients.

Dr. Spector is the best general practitioner I've ever seen. He is very kind and welcoming. He takes time to listen to you and explains things well. The office staff is friendly and professional as well. One layer of caution when making an appointment at his office, under no circumstances see his new NP "Nelly Molano"., unless you enjoy being talked over, talked down to, and rushed out of the office without having any of your concerns addressed. She is the antitheses to Dr. Spector. I know this is about Dr. Spector, but i don't want anyone making the mistake of booking an appointment with her and then having their perception of him and his office tarnished for ever because of her

I called to make an appointment and was told that due to covid they are not seeing sick people. Whaat? I was speechless for a moment and then I asked, well you are doctors, if you're not seeing sick people then who are you seeing, she said, well, annual check ups and that sort of thing. What a joke. You went into a profession that is supposed provide care for people at all times, not just when they are healthy. How would you like it if your auto mechanic told you she doesn't work on broken cars? Dr. Spector is a Hack and should stick to Botox. I was a patient of his for 20 years and I've the patient/customer service going down over the years. Like a lot of people, I have concerns about the vaccine. When I asked him about it and didn't agree, he snapped at me and I quote "I'm tired of being Challenged". I have never challenged any advise of his but the vaccine scares me and from his response I'm not alone. Some Dr. Patient relationship... Lil Napoleon Doesn't like to be challenged... Dr Spector became my primary physician in 2013 when I moved to Harford County. He listens and understands when you discuss any problems or conditions you are experiencing. Not a pill pusher and presents options that are available for you. My first appointment was one of the best decisions I ever made. I continue to rely on him for future diagnoses and his medical knowledge.

Dr. Spector is one of those doctors that cares about his patients, gives good feedback and information about your health condition. He responds to your messages. His staff are very friendly and fast checking you in and out. And waiting time is never more than 10 minutes every time I was there, even for urgent care; yes, they could fit me into their schedule within 2 hours when I needed an urgent appointment. This is the kind of place that will charge you $100 just to tell you that they can't help you because you don't have insurance. This is the kind of place that will lie about your appointment details to charge you extra on your bill. This happened to my mom. They charged her $500+ for a physical because the doctor said that they "discussed" other previous health issues, which was a lie. They also lied to her about her bloodwork so she would get more tests and told her that she had swollen lymph nodes and that she needed x-rays. The radiology doctor who did the x-rays literally said that he doesn't know why these doctors keep sending women in for unnecessary tests. He then said it seems like they are just trying to scam more money out of patients. These are just some specific examples of the the shady and underhanded practices at this office. Between lying about services, overcharging patients, and intentionally misrepresenting insurance information, this doctor's office is the last place you want to go if you are looking for legitimate, professional health care. Dr spector has always been a pleasure treated me fair and looked out for my best interest i have refered several others who also use dr spector he has been supportive and encouraging as well over the years

I have been a patient of Dr. Spector for many years now. He and his staff are always professional and courteous. He helped me quit smoking about 10 years ago and I never went back. I've always valued his opinion and will for many more years to come.

Dr. Spector takes the time to know "you" I never felt rushed as I have had with most doctors. I was able to tell "my story". It was wonderful. He made me feel like I was his only patient. Love him

The women in the office were absolutely rude and I felt extremely disrespected! Will not return!!!

Total scam! Completely unprofessional. My wife made and appointed for me for a Saturday. There was no confirmation. No one answers the phone. By getting to know his patients and listening to them, Dr. Spector is better equipped to know how best to treat them. He is not quick to prescribe medicine unless it is necessary and he is practical in his approach to his patients' medical issues. He never rushes his patient and schedules appointments with enough time in between so that there is not a long wait in the waiting room.

The Staff there are WONDERFUL!

I've been a patient of his for many years. If he can't help he will do his best to find you the right dr. He is very caring nd so is the staff.

Dr Spector has been a great personal physician to me. He understands that people not only need medical care but often times just a ear to hear concerns. Thank you Doc for spending time to listen and care!

I start seeing Dr. Spector this year. I agree with all the reviews about his caring and giving you the time to listen to your needs. I am so glad he accepted me as a new patient. I don't agree with some of the reviews about his staff, during my visit , I was treated with nothing but respect and caring.

Dr Specter has been very helpful in many ways. Have been a patient for over a year. When he can not help he has been able to provided excellent referrals in areas outside his expertise. Everyone from the front desk staff to the nurses have been great. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Spector is the best. We moved here from NY about three years ago. Wife and I had difficulty finding a doctor who genuinely cared. Than we came across Dr. S. Dr. Spector is a kind and compassionate physician with a sense of humor who truly listens to what I say and solves my medical problems. As a new member of this community who is beyond retired, I have searched for a new physician with whom I can forge a new relationship. I found him with Dr. Spector - he is outstanding.

Dr. Spector and his staff have been very helpful with my health issues, He listens, provides advice and alternatives to unhealthy life styles witch I lived. He compliments good decision making. He has helped me be a better person, I would most likely be in Very bad shape it were not for his Medical advice, he stuck with me when times were tough. He works with my visits to suit my lifestyle. The staff is always accommodating, polite, and provide me with necessary information.

By the time my mother was properly diagnosed the "fatty tumor" had more than quadrupled and was found to be Cancer... Options: have it removed or have your arm AMPUTATED below the elbow... So after having it removed it has now spread to her lungs and she's on chemo. Would have had a MUCH better chance of getting it all when it was the size of ur thumb as opposed to a pot roast... Awesome doctor

DR.SPECTOR is a great doctor to have he has helped me through some tuff times not only with medical help but also with words of wisdom he is straight forward and i would recommend him to everyone

After spending 2 weeks in some of the most incredible pain I have ever been in, along with my ankles swelling like grapefruits. I went to urgent care where the made me to believe I had lymes disease and rheumatoid arthritis.(all came back negative). After visiting Dr Spector for 10 minutes he knew exactly what to do, and truly had my best interest at heart! It has not even been 24 hours and the pain and swelling has not completely gone of course, but this is the best I have felt in Two weeks!! Have been going to Dr. Karl Spector & his associates for multiple years now (going on 8 years) friendly staff, clean office, punctual, professional & most of all helpful. They are willing to accomodate their patients to the upmost degree. Dr. Spector himself is a no-nonsense, but friendly outgoing doctor..I trust him, and respect him and he has helped me over the years. I see the below post (from Autumn Mayes) speaking about Dr. Spector and criticizing him for her loved one being in trouble because the doctor would not allow the patient to go off suboxone. Well I have to agree with the response here from Dr. Spector, nobody can force you to stay on a medication NOR deny/allow you to enter any sort of rehabilitation program (inpatient, outpatient, what have you). I was a heroin addict for many years, and prescription pill opioid user/abuser. I went to Dr. Karl Spector after my 3rd failed rehab (he speaks the truth about that) rehab ALONE does not change the chemical imbalance in the brain, it does not stop the cravings and it does not help the withdrawal, that doesn't mean he isn't supportive of meetings, AA & treatment in general, its just that treatment ALONE is not a guaranteed success, more and more we are seeing STUDIES & research that long-term Buprenorphine use has its benefits & helps the patient's QOL (Quality of Life) I have had a few slip-ups in the 8+ years of being on Suboxone but in general its been a 99% success rate...and my god life is better, truely all sarcasm aside and I'd like to think Dr. Spector is a big part of that. I believe I've read in many different publications that short-term detox-use of Buprenorphine/Suboxone/Zubsolv does not work as efficiently...I would have to agree (once again). Also you speak of money...well this is a job for him and his staff, but why can't he be a working professional AND care about his patients at the same time ? From what I've seen (and I know SEVERAL people over the years that have gone to him personally, heck I know 3 people right now that are friends of mine that go to him personally) and they all speak very highly of him. Back to the money part, MOST doctors require once a month, or once every 6-8 weeks, and I have other friends that go to doctors that require them to shell out $100-$150 per month, and half the time they have cancellations, doctor showing up late, basically very unprofessional sort of "on the fly doctors" I would call them, vs Dr. Spector who is a professional...his office hours are his office hours, he does not change them and/or break his own rules, and I only have to see him 4 visits per year (every 3 months) which ends up being $800 for a years worth of visits...you can't complain. He is prompt, the office visits for me are generally quick and painless. Unless there is something I need to speak with him about in detail it is very quick...but he is always willing to listen and give advice...(someone else pointed out below in the comments he treats you like a loved one, a brother or sister) and I would ALSO have to agree with this statement. I've written enough but I would give my glowing recommendation to anyone that needs a specific doctor for this specific condition (pain treatment, addiction specialist, etc). He is as good as they come, a good individual, and he by all means in my opinion cares about his patients. He took an oath as a doctor and he has lived up to that. Our family has had the pleasure of having Dr. Spector care for us over the years. Each and every visit, we NEVER felt rushed or not welcomed. He and his associates truly listen and take the time to break down what they believe is going on as well as to provide insight and guidance that leads you back to the road of feeling better. In short, THEY CARE! They are prompt, efficient, and make your health a #1 priority. We always leave his office feeling reassured or that an answer is to come. Doc Spector is tops! Not only an outstanding physician, but a caring and supportive practitioner with great customer service. Been with him for a decade, as has the whole family now that the kids are beyond pediatrics. Always will be.

Make sure if he says you have a "fatty tumor" and "you'll get more" and its NOTHING to worry about.... YOU GET A SECOND OPINION!

I would NEVER reccomend this doctor. He is one of the reasons why a loved one is in trouble, because he refused to take him off of the suboxone. Believes in long term use and did not want him going into inpatient therapy. Wanted to bring me in and "talk to me" instead, and wanted me to pay $200 just to talk to him. I have seen Dr. Spector 6 years now. He by far is the best doctor out there. The knowledge he has is incredible, and I'm super confident in what he tells me. Every time I come to his office, the staff is super sweet, and efficient. Everyone there goes above and beyond to fit the needs of the patients, and I just strongly recommend his practice !

Dr Spector is very easy to talk to and has a great personality. Listens well and very intelligent.

I have not had a primary care doctor in years because of previous experiences. DR Spector and his staff are truly exceptional! They made me feel very welcome and DR Spector listened and cared about what I had to say. I would recommend him to everyone!

Have been going to Dr. Spector for years since he was in his old office across from the Festival in Bel Air. Great doctor, compassionate with his patients he really does care about them, genuine easy to talk to (Friendly) his staff is pretty good as well sometimes it's hard to get through to his office during active hours when you call - but that really isn't a fault on their part otherwise great office, decent location - great staff, and great doctor.

Staffing extremely rude and inefficient, I think Dr. Spector does not how the staff is treating patients, they hung up on you all the time, they make mistakes and they blame on you and the worst thing they do not let you talk to your doctor. I'm very upset because I have been feeling ill.. I miss Amanda so much.

if you want an accessible Doctor DON'T go to Dr Karl Spector. My husband and I moved from CA. I deal with acute pain due to numerous conditions and my husband has severe pain due to needing knee replacement in both knees. I called Dr Spector's per recommendations given by friends and family. Neither my husband or myself ever saw or spoke to Dr Spector. Everytime we made an appt we only saw his PA, and she took it upon herself to cancel our pain medication and change the strengh of another.
