First off I would like to state that I am paralyzed do to a spinal cord injury. I was injured when I was 24 years old, and now I am 54. I've seen a lot of crazy things over that period of time, and guess what here's another one. When I started first visiting this doctors office right off the bat I was disturbed. The bathroom in the waiting room was not wheelchair accessible. There was a small Half wall type that was built in the lobby that was a barrier for someone in the wheelchair trying to open the bathroom door in access it. One of the first things I did was confront the office manager about it. In conversation with her she stated, oh well we're having the office remodel pretty soon and that should take care of it. With the attitude of basically shrugging it off is no big deal, which concerned me. Well after they finally remodeled the waiting room and actually took out the barrier wall. The next obstacle was their new seating arrangement, which was basically another barrier that prevented access to the restroom. I went onto the ADA website and looked up the regulations and diagrams that are laid out for a wheelchair accessible restroom in such an Office. I printed them out and brought them with me on my next visit. I confronted the office manager and wanted to show them to her. Well right off the bat she acted very rude and stubborn. The first thing she said was “well the remodel past its inspection.” Okay I guess a remodel can pass inspection, that has nothing to do with the way seats are arranged. I handed her the paperwork, and she commented “well I don't know anything about that I'll pass it on to the doctors”, and then as she turned away she actually through the literature in the garbage can and just kept the diagram. Well another six months went by until I returned to my next visit and nothing had changed. I guess let me explain a little bit of how the layout in the office was. I could get to the restroom door in my wheelchair and grab the handle to open it, but while backing up to open the door wide enough I would literally run into chairs that people were sitting in, and would have to ask them to get up and move there chairs out of the way so I would have enough room to completely open the door to get in. Now I ask you does that sound ADA accessible? Was there another accessible bathroom in the office? Yes there was, but it was not in the waiting room. It was way in the back next to the doctor's personal office. So to get there I would have to ask someone to open the one-way door just to get there. The Americans disability act was constructed for people like me to be totally independent and not to have to depend on others. Also, if I wanted a drink of water there was no accessible water fountain. The only thing they had in the waiting room was one of those water jugs that was located in the very corner of the office and was also not accessible. So, whenever I was thirsty, which I usually was and why, because I didn't drink any water before visiting the office and why is that, because the bathroom was not accessible. I would have to ask someone if they can fill a cup of water for me. Now does that make someone feel independent? Now the next thing that really stuck in my craw was there blood test policy. Since I take a lot of medicine I should get a blood tested every six months. Okay, but the way they work there’s is that they give you an appointment to come in and draw your blood. Before you leave they have you make another appointment to come back in about two weeks just to go over the results of the blood work. So, even if there is nothing wrong with your blood work they want you to come in just to tell you that. Is that crazy or what? So, instead of going to the doctors office two times a year you have to use your personal time abiding by their policy making it four times a year, even if there's nothing wrong with your blood work. Been a patient of Dr. Lee’s for probably 5 years now. During that time I have been very happy with the medical I’ve received and and service from their staff. My wait time has always been minimal. Dr. Lee has always spent the time necessary to fully learn about my medical issues than worked with me to come up with a plan of action that would work best for me.

While Dr Lee is a good doctor, the staff makes mistakes and costs patients money. His office sent my lab work to a company that is not on my insurance plan. When I got the bill, I contacted Dr Lee's office. I have been pretty much told that though it was their fault, I will have to pay the bill. Not an acceptable practice!
