I was referred to Dr. Hylton by my primary in Topeka when I first relocated here from Las Vegas in 2008. I had had Cervical and Lumber Fusions in Vegas years prior, and was still suffering from daily chronic pain. Now, after years of Pain pills and Injections, I have been told by my Neurologist here that I am in dire need of further back surgery. I immediately remembered the consults I had with Dr. Hylton, and both my son and I had been impressed with both his personal and professional demeanor. .He was very kind and patient and was very clear and precise about my medical issues. I came away knowing in my heart that if I was ever required to have surgery, I would look to him first. So it was with a heavy heart that I read of his retirement. I am happy for him and wish him a safe and well deserved retirement,.but very much disappointed that he will not be my surgeon. Thank you. Dr hylton performed a cervical fusion C5/6 6/7 back in 2014. Dr Hylton took so much time with me and I would highly recommend him to anyone! Best DR ever!

I have had a few surgeries that Dr Hylton has done. He has always listened to all my concerns and has always explained everything that he has found and what needs to be done to fix each problem. His office staff is very caring and will do anything they can to help, whether it be with appointments or with insurance. I don’t think you could find a better surgeon. If you have issues that other surgeons dismiss or can’t find, Don’t waste more time just go so Dr. Hylton and his staff.

Dr. Hylton was the absolute best!! I had c6-c7 fusion. The pain I had been suffering for months was gone the day after surgery! I recommend to anybody!!

I had a benign menningioma size half a tennis ball. Dr. Hylton did the surgery on Monday and I went home on Wednesday morning. Since the surgery all medical folks I see tell me how lucky I am. I feel that Phillip Hylton is the reason. I had to drive over 200 miles and if I had to do it again I would go any distance for the quality medical care that I recieived by Dr. Hilton.

Absolutely the best surgeon you could choose. Exceptional skills as a surgeon and very approachable with all my questions. Explained in detail what he needed to do and why. It will be a sad day in neurosurgery when this doctor retires!

I went to Dr. Hylton in June of 2016 after having an MRI of my neck that showed cervical spine stenosis. I was hoping he would tell me I could do PT or even an injection but he told me I needed surgery and I needed it sooner rather than later. I was a bit shocked by this news. I spoke with his resident who told me that Dr. Hylton usually takes a conservative approach so if he recommends surgery its because the patient really needs it. After taking some time to think about it, I scheduled my surgery and had it done in 8/2016. Dr. Hylton and his team were amazing. The office staff is kind, helpful, and compassionate. Dr. Hylton takes all the time you need for questions and makes sure you understand everything. I know I asked some silly questions and he never made me feel like I was asking ridiculous questions. I am a year out from surgery and I am so glad I did it. I had an anterior cervical discectomy with fusion at two levels. I could tell the difference from the first day of surgery and I have been doing great since. Thanks Dr. Hylton!! First and foremost, Dr Hylton has a great sense of humor!! This served me well to the point of keeping me calm. To me anyway, he has the gift of taking an complex issue, speaking in a language that breaks the issue down and lays it in your lap!! For those in Rio Linda, makes it easy to understand!! That's a gift, not a true learnable talent in my humble opinion. Would I reccommend his services?? Without hesitation!!! He cares, extremely talented and funny. Why would one see anyone else?

I would recommend Dr Hyltont to any of my family and friends. I had c-5/c6 fusion and a c4/c5. He was very professional and very caring Dr. If I have to have another surgery he will be my first pick. Thank you Dr Hylton and your staff is wonderful and friendly.

After my neck surgery, the chronic pain in my neck was gone immediately after the surgery! He is very professional and explained my neck condition to me as no specialist I had seen prior to Dr Hylton.

I have been to Dr. Hylton 4 times after receiving a spinal cord contussion/with adema due to a misguided epidural needle by a pain management Dr. He thoroughly explained what happened and explained every symptom . He has been amazing with the information he has given me and is walking me through this injury. He is never in a hurry and is a remarkable listener. I am so glad I was referred to him. He is the best! If surgery is in the future, there is no question who I trust. His staff is also caring and compassionate. Can't say enough. Amazing. We went to him for a 2nd opinion and I am so happy we did. Great bedside manner, very informative, totally focused on my husbands needs completely and covered all bases from pre surgery to post op recovery. He performed a Anterior cervical C6-7 Decompression with Fusion on my husband and the pain relief was immediate after surgery. Follow up has been perfect so far. I went to Dr. Hylton highly recommended by an orthopedic surgeon friend of mine to address the stenosis and osteophytes that I had in my neck from C5-C7. After determining that I needed surgery to give me the relief I needed from the pinched nerves, Dr. Hylton performed surgery and North Kansas City Hospital and the procedure went according to plan. The surgery was a breeze and Dr. Hylton explained in detail what he was going to do and the results I could expect afterwards. They were exactly as he said and I've been pain free for 2 years now and so thankful the he performed the surgery. He also put a titanium plate in at C5 and C6 for added stability and it's been amazing!!! Just had a anterior cervical decompression and fusion of C6-7, absolutely phenomenal surgeon, I highly would recommend him and I would personally go to no one else.

Dr. Hylton demonstrated ZERO interest in learning anything about my medical history. He approached me with a false assumption of why I was seeking his help. My condition did not match his expectation of why I was referred to see him, and he dismissed my explanations of my symptoms. He was grossly unhelpful, condescending, and a complete waste of my time. I am still seeking answers, and he was not remotely interested in helping me. Period. I would not recommend this charade to anyone.

Man with the magic hands did both of my craniotomies amazing surgeon in my opinion none better

Dr. Hylton is a great surgeon. He performed a spine surgery in my neck last November. I healed quickly and in a matter of months I didn't even notice I ever had anything done. He is very personable and a straight shooter. I highly recommend Dr. Hylton.

I had surgery on my neck....had full recovery, normal range of movement with no problems or pain. I highly recommend Dr Hylton.
