Dr. Alberto J Ambard

Dr. Ambard - simply the best. I've been going to him for years. His no nonsense approach, skill, knowledge and attention to detail are amazing and rare these days. He takes the time necessary to explain everything, and doesn't stop until it's done expertly. I trust him fully, and have recommended him to friends and colleagues numerous times.

I wasn’t going to leave a review but I recently saw the review from DW and the response from the office essentially blaming the patient for the office’s shortcomings and lack of being trauma informed, so I thought I would share my experience, since this is clearly not an isolated incident with this doctor and office. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ambard for TMJ/jaw pain. Fees were not discussed beforehand, but I was asked for my insurance information, and assumed they would try to go through my insurance. I arrived at the office and as soon as Dr. Ambard saw me, without asking any other questions, told me I needed to lose weight and that my jaw was "not that bad" and I needed to "learn to relax." For background, I am a trauma therapist who is autistic, trans, and I work with people (and myself) every day on stress reduction, trauma, and eating disorders/body dysmorphia. I have visited at least five TMJ specialists (before and after this visit) and Dr. Ambard is the only one who has taken this approach. I was misgendered by the office as well. I told the doctor that he was out of line and would do better to ask me more questions about what my experience was, what I had already tried, etc. It's a lazy and egotistical doctor who puts the responsibility solely on the patient who is coming to them for help. Also -- using the BMI as an indicator of health is incredibly dated. I was also charged $140 for this "information" and not given any clear steps for moving forward with treatment that would improve my concerns. I left and will not return, and wanted to caution anyone else thinking of going to this office.

Dr. Ambard is such a wonderful human being with regard to how he dedicated to my dental issues for sure but also great conversations about music sometime when he has chance. I would really recommend him for everyone who wants to bite well again!

Horrible experience with this dentist. I made a concerted effort to attempt to let the office know, in multiple emails, how much medical anxiety, especially dental, I have. I made it very clear how nervous I was. I went in there and felt completely invisible once the dentist arrived. Never introduced himself properly or had any sort of real conversation with me. I had a panic attack in the chair and had to walk out after being told to put my anxiety to the side. If you have any sort of medical trauma, this is not the one for you. Dr. Ambard is a highly skilled, competent dentist, who has a high standard for himself, and who is willing to go extra step for the betterment of patients. He is also pleasant to talk to, with a caring bed manner. I knew I was in good hands with reasonable fees.

Extremely confident that I am in good hands. Grateful for the referral from Dr Smith.

His office won't give even rough estimates of procedure costs without a $160 consultation, even if you know what procedure you've been recommended.

I have visited Dr. Ambard's practice for over 15 years and he his staff are always outstanding.

I'm an oral cancer survivor and have been a patient of Dr. Ambard's for many years. His unique skills took me through a lengthy and complex reconstruction process and he continues to provide me with excellent care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ambard for denture implants problems. My problem was very complicated and he worked his magic. I now have great looking dentures and I can chew. The office is very friendly and very helpful. Dr Armard is a very caring and very professional, wanting nothing but the best for me. I will be his client for the rest of my life. I recently had a fractured tooth and a friend recommended Dr Ambard-- He was thorough and explained in detail all of the options including what might be needed if the current treatment was unsuccessful (saving the tooth). I also found it to be a very multidisciplinary office building given an endodontist and an oral surgeon share this office space- three specialties in one space. I have been going to Dr. Ambard for almost 10 years now. My veneers are beautiful and he does amazing work, both medically and cosmetically. Totally worth the drive out to Beaverton :) I would highly recommend him to anyone!!

I came to Dr Ambard with a mouthful of problems....primarily an upper denture I had been fighting for over two years. I felt like Mr Ed! I had two attachments that weren’t working. I was miserable. After looking at my mouth & denture he said they’re too big. The bite is not aligned. I had to get an altogether new denture, but so worth it. It fits perfectly. He was fastidious making my new dentures fit perfectly. I have no need to use powders, pastes or glues. I am not fond of those going all over my mouth. I would not hesitate with the utmost confidence to encourage anyone to see Dr Ambard. He’s pleasant, caring & easy to talk with. His office staff are very courteous & helpful.
