Dr. Ali Sajjad is the 4th or 5th rheumatologist I've seen since I was first diagnosed. He's forthright and very knowledgeable. I arrive at my appointments with specific questions and have had very good discussions with him about my disease, its progression, and treatment options. I highly recommend him.

Dr Sajad took over my care with a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis(AS) and prescription of Humira from a previous doctor. This diagnosis was based on my back pain, having sacroillitis, and HLB27 positivity while ignoring the vast majority of my other symptoms. Also a simple X-ray could have confirmed the diagnosis but was not ordered. Upon first seeing Dr Sajad after being prescribed I informed him all my symptoms had worsened. I had less energy and more muscle/joint pain, less sleep, and new inability to sweat, less exercise tolerance, to name a few. He wanted me to stay on the Humira, which I did. Although I tried to ask him about reactive arthritis since that was in the same family as AS and covered all of my symptoms but was completely ignored. After my second visit with I informed him I was even worse to which he responded to wanting to try Cosentyx. I again asked about reactive arthritis and was again completely ignored. I persisted this until Dr Sajad stood up, closed my records, said get an MRI and stormed out of the room. The MRI was negative for the diagnosis of ankylosing Spondylitis. I found out a couple of years later that I did have an infection with both Bartonella and Babesia. Which after being placed on Humira, an immune suppressor, has spread farther and deeper becoming more difficult to treat and become chronic. Dr Sajad took over for my misdiagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis(AS) and continued mistreatment with Humira. Dr Sajad was my second visit at HealthEast rheumatology after the initial diagnosis of AS with subsequent prescription of Humira. I informed that all of my symptoms had worsened following taking Humira. He insisted that the diagnosis was correct and wanted to continue the Humira since he did not initially diagnose me. On my second visit with Dr Saja I informed him that my sleep decreased further, my muscle/joint pain/weakness worsened, the bone pain in my legs and soles of my feet worsened, etc. He suggested another drug, Cosentyx, which I said I would not take and that maybe my diagnosis was incorrect and was possibly Reactive Arthritis. He completely ignored me and kept pushing Cosentyx. I finally persisted enough where he abruptly stood up, closed my records, ordered an MRI, then stormed out. The MRI confirmed I did not have AS. Later I found I had Babesia/Bartonella.

I highly recommend him. I saw three doctors prior to him who weren't able to help me with my problem, but then I saw him, and he's the only doctor who was able to diagnose and treat my gout effectively. I think he's a nice, friendly guy, too. Most importantly, he knows his stuff.

I find him to be a most informed scientist who uses test results, examination and patient reports on how their disease is manifesting. He is also flexible about adjusting meds when necessary and answering questions related to the disease being treated. His efficient use of time is offset by his willingness to give the patient all they need to know and feel reassured that the best knowledge is being considered and given at each encounter.. Ali Sajjad knows only five things from medical school: Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), Gout, Osteoporosis, Raynaud's Disease and Rotator Cuff Syndrome and Allied Disorders. If you see him, he will make you do some movements and ask you some questions to try to determine if you have one of these five diseases. If you're looking for a doctor that will listen to you, then think about what you may have given your symptoms and what they learned in medical school and practice - look elsewhere! Let me re-emphasis this last point - as I was referred here by my general doctor - ask for a different doctor if you are interested in a diagnosis. My first appt. which I waited 2 months for, I told him immediately I was referred by 3 doctors to get Prednisone for my inflammation and painful joints. Orthopedic surgeon, cardiologist and internist (primary care doc.) all agreed that 1 mg of prednisone would help me. They all said I needed to see a Rheumatologist. I had all my records faxed. Being that I had a heart transplant I am allowed to take ony 1 mg a day of Prednisone for pain. He said he needed x-rays first. He did not take an x-ray of my most painful joints. I waited another 1-2 months for the next appt. At that appt. he said no, he would never give me 1 mg only 5 mg. I told him that was too much that my transplant doc. said I could only take 1 mg. He was very rude and would not listen to me (I'm an assertive retired women social worker) He insisted I take 5mg and not 1mg. It was very odd that he wanted to give me more med. then what I needed. All 3 doctors agreed that 1mg would help my pain. I don't believe he liked a women who is assertive and came in knowing what she needed and spoke up to him. He was a smart ass and arrogant. He has sinned against me and will be held accountable for his sin of lying and allowing me to continue to pay money to see him for 2 appt. when he knew all along that he was not going to give me 1 mg of prednisone. Sad when a doctor is ignorant of human suffering. I have been living in pain for 27 yrs. and have been strong without any pain meds until now and I only needed 1 mg of prednisone to help my painful swollen joints. He was a creep, he was mean and nasty and would not let me speak.

My experience with Dr. Sajjad has been excellent. He is very knowledgeable, and very caring. I wish he was still my doctor. While he was I received great care and he explained all things carefully. If he is in your service area. Be sure to sign up for his patient care!

It is regrettable I trusted my care in this doctor. At first he seemed to be helping me with my care as I was in rough shape but never took enough time to explain his methodology and answer my medication questions nor was he ever personable. As my condition progressed, I felt as though he didn't understand my concerns and was not willing to treat my symptoms. I find him to be arrogant and only interested in his own findings. As a healthcare professional, see another rheumatologist!

After he did send me for lab work but never followed up with me even with abnormal labs. He was very cold in he bed side cares. Find somebody else.

If you want to get treated at all gmy somewhere else this doctor is a complete waste of time not only did I not get a check up when I saw he he ask me zero questions and threw my past treatment history out the book. I don't know why he is a doctor he doesn't care about his patients and is impossible to get in contact with outside of an appointment. Don't see this man
