Dr. Ali Tutar

Dr. Tutar is a great guy: no-nonsense, to the point, and very thorough. Been with him for years and will stay with him.

Is this how you want your heart doctor to run his office? As a new patient, I had to wait six weeks for an appointment. I arrived ahead of time to fill in the usual paperwork. The frosted glass sliding door between the small windowless waiting room and the staff was closed. I called through the window to let them know I was there. They told me to wait. A few minutes later they opened the window, gave me a clipboard with paperwork, and closed the window again. As I sat filling in the paperwork it was obvious a woman sitting across from me had a bad cold, the flu, or covid. She had a deep chest cough, runny nose and eyes, and even removed a bottle of a red liquid which looked like cough syrup from her purse and gave herself a spoonful. When I asked her what she had, she said "asthma," which of course did not explain her symptoms. A tiny elderly woman also waiting with us was called back to see the doctor at about my scheduled appointment time. A third woman arrived about 15 minutes after my appointment time and when they opened the frosted glass to speak with her she said she had suffered an allergic reaction to a medication prescribed by Dr. Tutar, and been told she should come in to get a different prescription. Of course, I wondered why they made her come back in, when the doctor surely could have prescribed an alternative over the phone. The sick woman had a coughing fit, and the one they had forced to come in for a new prescription asked the receptionist if she could wait out in the hall. Permission was granted. I continued to wait with in the little room with the wheezing and hacking "asthma" sufferer until an hour after I had arrived--45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time--when the inner door opened, the tiny elderly woman emerged, and they called in the woman with the cold/flu/covid. Assuming it would take as long for Dr. Tutar to see her as it had for the tiny elderly woman, I decided I did not want to wait another 45 minutes, so I left. Wouldn''t you? We waited quite a long time for him to come to the exam room. Our appointment was for 4:30 and we left his office at almost 7:00 pm. But, otherwise, he was very thorough in his questions and treatment of my mother's symptoms.

I’m impressed with how thorough Dr. Tutar is. He has been my dr for 8 years and taken really good care of me. I always recommend Dr. Ali Tutar to anyone who asks abt a cardiologist. 5 ??

This Dr is the worst Dr I have ever seen. I had to go to him for medical clearance for surgery on March 8. He waited until 3 days before the signed clearance was due before ordering further testing a echocardiogram and Holter monitor. Unprofessional and incompetent. The staff told me it was on his desk to sign the week of March 8....still waiting and it's March 23....orthopedic dr is not happy either. This should have been ordered the 8th. Do not go to him. 2 hours wait for appointment as well

Does not pay attention to details. Keeps forgetting. Difficult to get refill. Delegate doctor duties to secretary. Horrible experience. Will go to another cardiologist
