My boyfriend had hernia surgery there this morning. It is a workers comp case because the injury happened at work. He had to wait months to get the appointment, and we live 2 hours away but had no choice because it was a workers comp case, and his employer uses Comcentra, who must contract to this office. They were on time, but we had to be there really early, at 6 am. This meant we had to get a hotel on our dime. (We are supposed to be reimbursed for mileage, but I'll believe it when it happens). The surgery went fine but the after care is deficient. The main issue we are having, and are continuing to have as I write this, is that we can not get his prescription. First, the original pharmacy was closed (on a Thursday!), so we had to contact the doctor , Dr. Lee, to resend it, but he was almost impossible to find because of course he doesn't have an office there and seems like a traveling doctor. He finally spoke with him and he assured us he would "call it in" (I wish they would stop saying it that way, because it implies that communication between humans has occured, when in fact it is something they do on-line without any follow-up to see if it actually occurred). Well, surprise surprise, he did not do it, and was then in surgery again so that we couldn't reach him to ask why it hadn't happened. Then, when a script was finally sent it was for different medications of his, that had nothing to do with post-surgical pain. So, we had to call and call his case worker, the clinic, the insurance, the doctor, and the pharmacy several times all afternoon to fix this. Patients should not have to work this hard, it feels like we are doing their work for them. My boyfriend had hernia surgery there this morning. Dr. Lu is honest & helpful with all of his wisdom & knowledge. There’s a reason that he comes so very highly recommended in his craft. I look forward to having Dr. Lu take care of my knee replacement surgery.

Was asked if I wanted to see the PA or MD. Waited 2 months to see the doctor and when I showed for my appointment I waited an hour and a half to see the PA. Still have yet to hear from this office to schedule surgery. Not feeling very comfortable with the service at all. May be a good doctor but the office is run poorly.

Appoint was at 2:45, got here at 2:40 PM, it is now 4 PM and I have yet to be seen. All the other reviews are accurate regarding wait time. You will wait a VERY long time just to be evaluated. Can’t comment on bedside manner and doctor yet, haven’t seen him.

Not sure which Dr. we actually saw at this office, but we were basically told that there was nothing wrong with our child and we were being ridiculous. Got a second opinion and were told that our child has a deformity that IS causing pain and breathing issues (the dr at this office told us it wasn't related). We are now being referred to other specialists, looking at possibly surgery and were told that this could have been avoided if we were listened to by the first dr. Definitely upset with our encounter and angry that something could have been done before things got worse as we waited for more xrays and a new referral. Doctor is so so and wait time is ridiculous! Some employees look tired and irritated; could be the volume of patients at one time that equals too much work load at a time.

Hi, Today I am updating my review to express my thanks to Dr. Lu. I am a retired pharmacist after long 30+years. My first visit with Dr. Lu was in Jun 14th, while I was waiting I felt average not a superb setting (pt watching baseball game from phone without the earphone). After the visit with him I knew he was right one and only thing matter to me. My hip replacement diary 8.6.19 arrived at Whittier hospital for 1:30 surgery. Regain my senses around 6. Didn't have much pain at all. Around 10 to midnight I felt my bladder going to blow up, nurse scanned had 850c.c urine. I asked for catheter she said no no no. I asked call doctor for the order. 30 or so min later catheter in 750cc got out . The LVN fixed catheter on skin. 2h later pressure building up again, call the RN for help, no no no no were the answers. So, I pushed the catheter in again ( with pain), urine rush out I could feel. 8.7. Dr. LU came in I asked him to put a as needed order on chart, so I won't experience as when I have my left hip replacement. Dr.LU said the order was there .In AM got horrible heart burn and gas pain. Hospital didn't have Zanta in their formula. Wait about 3 hours to get , but didn't work. That was a horrible day and Dr. LU didn't have nothing to do with it.The surgery pain was not much. 8.8 Woke up around 4:30, felt I could raise my knee much easier. Asked wife to untie the pillow. Was doing some therapist Ms Chen's order. Pain level still very low.. 10am or so Physical therapist came in ,I walked 150ft and did some more exercises with her. Not much pain either. Ms Jennifer and Ms Chen were very different. Chen was a drill seargeant, Ms Jennifer was very pleasant but pointed out mistakes without hesitate. Chen made sure the rules, Ms Jennifer made it happened. With those I respect them. No no no pain. 8.9. Woke and did some exercises, and walked more than 300ft with wife. 10am therapist Denise came in, I climbed stairs up and down with and without walker. Founded out I could go home today. What a wonderful news. Personally expressed my thanks to all persons and left before 3pm. 8.10 Everythings were ok. Checked yards walked around without walker the last 50ft. 8.11 This is today, I found the areas of pain or swelling gone down. They became small spotts but pain is more intense even still low. This afternoon found the my low right legs skin was very tight. The swelling up lots. Went to have sarna the heat room for 15min. 8.12 After the sarna treatment, the edema down. 8.13 Lower right legs swelling almost gone. Walking without Walker from this noon indoor. (Won't overwork). 8.20 8th day walk without walker. I walked to office to have staples (stitches) removed. The nurse didn't believe I were the pt, never had any pt could walk without walker in 2wks to office. Staples out, Dr. Lu happy , just remind me need to fellow the physical therapist's rules what you can't do list. Walked out office, I am happy and almost no pain at all only I sqeez or stretch. THANKS, Dr. LU YOU ARE A WONDERFUL SURGEON. THAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO ME. I WILL TRY TO FIND TIME TO HAVE MY LEFT SIDE REPLACED BY YOU!!!!!!! This is a great Dr. He listens, he is knowledgeable and is also a great surgeon. I had to have a hip replacement at an unusually early time in my life and after dealing with Drs that just drop the ball and drag their feet it was refreshing to finally have a good honest knowledgeable Dr. The office is busy but the staff is courteous and efficient. I have nothing but praise for this Dr and his staff. This is a great Dr. He listens, he is knowledgeable and is also a great surgeon. Office staff is rude and incompetent. There is no desire to help patients find treatment and get even the most basic care. Seeking orthopedic treatment is often time sensitive yet they can't seem to schedule patients sooner then 4 months out. Their office manager seems to work when she wants to and no one knows her schedule and she never returns calls.

He is recongnized as one of the best surgeons in town. But very bussy doctor office leads on waste of time on each follow up visit. At least 1 and 1/2 hour. Would reconsider before to come again.

This facility definitely knows the words "I'm sorry" because their doctors are late every time I have had an appointment. Dr. Chuang doesn't arrive until after 8:35 even though a scheduled appointment is for 8:00am. Dr. Fan runs late as well. I have an 8:45am appointment; I still haven't seen him and it is almost 10:00 am. They charge you your copay for each doctor you see even in the same morning. Don't come here unless you have all day to sit and wait, and you can afford to pay for each doctor you see! Very pleasant front desk staff, both nurses were very nice with my son. Dr. Fan was extremely personable and advised the least invasive solution which made me happy. They do look like they see a lot of patients here so I would opt for an early appointment time, or you might have to wait a while.

I've been waiting until after my surgery to rate Dr. Lu and how I was feeling post surgery. I was originally going to another doctor who was so booked that he referred me to Dr. Lu. I can honestly say that I'm very happy he was booked and that I was able to have him do my surgery. I have had 3 previous knee surgeries and was getting diagnosed with another torn ACL and meniscus so I've been through this dance before. I've dealt with enough orthopedic surgeons who think they are Gods in the medical field and Dr. Lu is the complete opposite of that. His bedside manner is the best I've ever experienced! He's very thorough and explains everything while still listening to my concerns and making sure I was comfortable moving forward. He used a newer procedure on me where they drill from the inside of the joint instead of using plugs for the graft. I'm 9 days removed from surgery and almost have my full range of motion back. I was really concerned with the amount of morphine that is used on me to put me under because I get really sick. The anesthesiologist (Dr. Chang) said he doesn't use morphine and Dr. Lu made sure he used a blocker on me so I woke up feeling the best I've ever felt after any of my previous surgeries! I will update this post if anything changes but this truly has been the best experience I've ever had with an orthopedic surgeon and I would refer Dr. Lu, his staff and this surgical center to anybody that asks!
