Amanda Kalan

Dr. Kalan was very unfriendly. She seemed to just rush in and out the first few appointments. She didn’t pay attention to my chart and missed diagnosed me. Twice. She is very callus and not empathetic. Once she informed us we lost one of our twins her next breath was, “ Your baby will just turn to mush and flatten. Don’t worry about it.” She also told me not to go on vacation two weeks later because it seemed stressful to her. She just isn’t kind and isn’t what I’d recommend or look for in a doctor in a position such as hers. Maternal fetal medicine should have the most sincere doctors who actually care about their patients. The moms and babies. We aren’t just a number like she makes us feel like we’re humans who don’t want to be at the high risk doctor in the first place but are unfortunately and she makes the experience that much worse.

Horrible!! She was very blunt and unsympethetic about major birth defects she was predicting, and she seemed very stuck up. when i asked her how likely these concerns are to be real, she answered, "Pretty likely or I wouldn't be telling them to you would i?" thank Gd she was wrong about both of my children! find someone else!! (i would have given zero stars if that was a choice.)

I waited 40 minutes between my ultrasound and her coming in to discuss results. She was cold, and condescending about concerns I had. She thought this was my first pregnancy, which tells me she didn’t read my chart very well. Choose another MFM if you can.

She walked in to the room unprepared for the visit. She failed to shake hands, greet me or introduce herself to my husband. She provided incorrect information, and she is very crass. Fortunately, she is not our regular OB - she just reads and US as a MFM specialist. I would strongly advise AGAINST choosing her!!!

Dr Kalan is great! This is the second high risk pregnancy I have went through with her. She is very down to earth and makes it easy for me to understand what's going on. Love her!

Found her rather abrupt and haughty. She explained issues in medical terms, and seemed annoyed we had to ask what she meant. She was a poor listener and remained very insensitive in terms of the complications we came across, and concerning finances, during the visit. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Kalan. She made me feel more like a body part she was studying than a patient.
