Reviews for Amitabh Goel
very nice doctor office very friendly and great care
Best Dr and office I have ever been to. Dr Goel is such a fantastic Dr. He truly cares and definitely the only doctor who knows how to treat people in extreme pain.
This is not your ordinary physician. This man was thorough and compassionate. I still can't believe it. After running from specialist to specialist, I finally found someone who listened and didn't recommend procedures just for the sake of recommending them. He not only listened but took his time.
I met Dr. Goel for the first time this week. The staff was super nice and very helpful. My former pain management dr was no longer with the Dr's office I was using. I was seen by her for over three years. She recommended Dr. Goel. Dr. Goes entered the room with a smile on his face. He knew I about my medical conditions. He gave me a through examination. He apologized every time he hit a painful spot. He was a wonderful doctor. I believe he can help me with my chronic pain . I met Dr. Goel for the first time this week. The office staff is not very friendly. The doctor is very hard to understand. For a pain mgmt clinic they do not like to prescribe meds to help you at all. The office is like 900 degrees every time I go in. And if your appt is at 1pm. Do not expect to get in before 2pm. They try to force injections that don’t work or force medical procedures on you. Dr Goel is the best. He goes over everything no issues. And yes a little hard to reach on the phone but that's because their are shortages of staff due to covid pandemic. Every place is short staffed.
Dr. Goel cares about his patients and is extremely knowledgeable. I've gone to other pain specialists, but never again after going to Dr. Goel. He spends time to diagnose and recommend the least invasive option to help you.
At first he seemed fine, later visits, all of which I was kept waiting 30+ minutes, I was rushed and left terribly bruised from injections with large, dull needles. He flat out lied about what he was going to do, denied he ever said it. Staff is terrible! Called to give me an appt, I had a card with an appt IN MY HAND-they denied it had been scheduled, rude staff and Dr. No better after a year, not going back. Was not treated with dignity.
Excellent doctor. My daughter,Husband and I all use him for pain management. Husband has a back implant that has changed his life. Back to golf 3 times a week now. I had back injections .and my daughter has had to many to mention.
My husband and I were very impressed with Dr Goel on my first visit. He did the most thorough examination that I believe I have ever had. But after 6 months of treatment and 5 injections, I’m no better. When I addressed my concern at my last visit, Dr Goel told me that I am better and that my brain forgets about the pain that I had. My main pain has always been my middle back but yet get continued to treat me for other pains and said I insulted him my questioning him! Really, because he couldn’t even remember that he had ordered an MRI of my middle back. When I told him I was ready to get a second opinion, he was just basically done with me and left the room! Very conscientious, they will check your temperature and make sure that you do not have Covid before you enter
Best pain doctor in Sarasota! Very caring. Very thorough. Carefully diagnoses and treats your pain.
I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Goel, his office staff, as well as the Surgery Partners Sarasota team that supports Dr. Goel when doing his out of office procedures. I have had several procedures, including steroid injections (left side of my neck) and RFA (radio frequency ablation right side of my neck) and I am feeling so much better! I had tried different things prior to coming to Dr. Goel, including seeing a neurosurgeon, chiropractor, and physical therapist. PT and chiropractic services didn’t work and I did not want surgery, so I opted to see a pain management physician and I’m glad I did. From the start, Dr. Goel took the time to explain his plan for my pain, which I completely agreed upon. During my last appointment, which was a follow up to the steroid injection I recently received, he addressed the herniated disc that I have in my back and asked how that was feeling. I told him, as of now, it’s manageable so he told me to let him know when and if I needed anything done for that or when I start feeling pain in either side of my neck again. He did not try to push me to do anything about the back until I decided I wanted something done. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I know the results from the procedures I did have won’t last forever and will probably be required again, so for now, I am happily enjoying the results! I’m writing this review on behalf of my mom, Natalya Entina who is a patient of Doctor Amitabh Goel. Firstly, I would like to note that we have been looking for a clinic to take her case on and see it through for years now, and are beyond grateful to have found Dr.Goel. After a detailed review of my mom’s chart, he suggested two different types of injections and after each session, her results have been very promising. Seeing my mom walking easier, enjoying more out of her life and being excited about her future, is more than I ever hoped for, yet here we are and it is currently our happy reality. I hope others are able to find hope with Dr. Goel’s help as my mom did. I’m writing this review on behalf of my mom, Natalya Entina who is a patient of Doctor Amitabh Goel. I have never been treated with such lack of compassion. I had an 10:00 appointment. I am disabled and my pain is out of control lets just say it is out of control. I needed to get ready for transportation to come get me an hour earlier. I am picked up at 8:30am. I arrived around 0:15 am checked in filled out more paperwork on top of paperwork in office. I do everything I am supposed to do as a new patient., I around 11:25 I get called back by the receptionist and she said I need to talk to you. She informed me Dr Goel doesn’t see patients with pain pumps. I informed her I am trying to get it removed that is why I am here. She then apologized and said our other physicians deal with pumps but don’t know if they would take you as a patient? Why wouldn’t they if they deal with pumps? I know hove been running out of medication in my pump and I am weaning myself slowly of the medication and I am going through withdrawal that makes me so sick. I am sweating, heart palpitations, nausea the whole body aching all from me trying to get my pain pump removed. I asked the doctor that put it in since it’s been put in I have wanted it removed, it causes me pain the catheter in my back hurts and it hurts my ribs in front. I now have to figure out who will help me. I should have been given an appointment with the physician that does deal with pumps. After 2 1/2 hours for nothing. It’s called discrimination if doctors are going to read about you and look at your paperwork and make a judgement based on information I have provided. It’s discrimination and it’s wrong and against the law. I am now back at square 1 and I am suffering. I can’t get out of my body the one that causes me such pain and suffering. I don’t need to do anything for it to hurt my whole body just throbs. I can’t live this way and to be discriminated upon is wrong. I need to go to an office manager. Lawyer, more physicians all the time it is going to take. In the midst is a woman that is very strong and honest and before my injury worked in all levels of health care. I enjoyed hospice, head and neck cancer. I worked for my patients they were the reason I went to work every day. I would never think of leaving a patient alone and afraid like that. Health care is in crisis. I believe it’s gone too far. This is wrong what happened to me today is just plain wrong. Making judgments on patients care depending on if office staff “like you or not “. We are in trouble people this is happening. I believe in compassion and kindness. Patient care has laws also. I am know alone with withdrawal of dilaudid. I am so afraid and alone I can only take so much. I was never a woman that did drugs I don’t like them and in the over 10 year of having this injury I try to use the least amount of medication I understand about rebound pain and the balance of this over years left of my life so I just need a physicians that believes in me. When this happens to you it psychologically makes you feel more alone and in pain and feeling of nowhere to turn to. Is that what physicians are taking their oaths I guess the do no harm part doesn’t mean that in reality. Matter of fact the physician that put my pump in said to me there is no such thing as do no harm anymore. I should have ran out and of the operating table that day. God does speak to us, I didn’t listen.. Catherine Gmiter I have never been treated with such lack of compassion. I had an 10:00 appointment. I've been a patient of Dr Goel for some time now, and can say honestly, hes a very professional and compasionate physician. The staff is prompt, friendly, and the office very clean and neat. We bring our children with us, and its refreshing that HGTV is playing in the waiting room instead of endless pharmaceutical testimonial ads and commercials. Hes treated me with dignity, and never once forced or required a treatment or procedure, but has worked with my regular physicians to maintain my long term pain management and treatment plan, which keeps me mobile and I enjoy an active, ( parenting!) lifestyle. From an auto accident and multiple surgeries, pins bolt and mesh, it's a blessing to have this caliber of care. Hes a top doc, and Florida is lucky to have him. And no, I'm not a family member, just a patient, and I wouldnt think twice about recommending Dr Goel to family or friends.
They require a referral or EXTENSIVE medical records in order to be seen even if you pay out of pocket or have insurance which does not require a referral. AND, no matter how much you've changed or grown as a person, NEVER mention you have a history of drug addiction EVEN if you are NOT seeking OPIATES. I refused to sign the Opiate Consent form because I DO NOT WANT OPIATES. Pathetic the way they prejudged me without even meeting me in person. They also REQUIRE urine drug testing. If you care about your medical record, have any sense of self dignity you would avoid this place. Or move out of Florida because the medical system here is a joke. Like many however, I am a snowbird and Florida is one of the only places I can afford to stay warm during the cold months. I'm giving it 2 stars because Dr. Goel is great. But they are always running behind. I waited an hour for an 8:00 am appointment today. How far behind can you be by 8:00 am? I have a job to go to!
Great facility, they know there stuff!
My visit was Great. Dr. Goel took the time to examine me. The staff is very nice and answered all my questions. I am very pleased.
I found Dr. Goels to be tone-deaf and arrogant in my one and only appointment. He was without empathy, and made no attempt at meaningful dialogue.
I have osteoarthritis hips lower and upper back so far Dr. Goel has helped me with the pain faster then any doctor. He is of little words but that is ok as long as I get results.
BY FAR THE WORST MOST INCOMPETENT DOCTOR I HAVE BEEN TO IN MY LONG LIFE, HE WAS NOT CONCERNED WITH HELPING ME WITH MY DEBILITATING CHRONIC MIGRAINES THIS "DOCTOR" WASTED MY TIME AND MY MONEY AND HE INSULTED ME BY SAYING I RAISED RED FLAGS BECAUSE I WOULD NOT UNDERGO TWO PAINFUL INVASIVE BACK PROCEDURES UNDER ANESTHESIA THAT WERE ALREADY DONE WITH ZERO RESULTS HE NEVER VIEWED MY PAST RECORDS HE LOST MY URINE SAMPLE AND MUCH MORE HES UNCARING UNPROFESSIONAL UNQUALIFIED... ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY
This doctor gets 0 stars and should not be in the profession of pain relief! Although we were very satisfied with our doctor at the time, we were seeking a new doctor because our current doctor was leaving his practice. With enough medication to last until the next visit, we waited a month to meet Dr. Goel, only to have our $50 consultation fee taken and was never seen by the actual doctor. According to the office staff, he reviewed my wife's paperwork and made a decision not to accept her.
If I could give him a 0, I would. His technique was nothing short of barbaric! He did botox injections for migraines which was the worse decision of my life! He is absolutely horrible!
Great doctore but terrible staff they never answer their phones!!
I saw him twice when he was at the other location. He was pleasant. And seemed to know what he was doing. I liked him.
Switched to Dr Goel from my previous doc of 4 years. He switched my meds the first visit. The second visit did a hip injection. Next week we will work on reducing narcotics since his injection helped reduce both hip and back pain so well!
I was not treated like a patient, just a number and he was in a rush. Then he told me he was writing me 2 prescriptions, tramadol, and a cream for me instead of the lidoderm patch. The lady at the front desk said he had no prescriptions for me. In addition, he said that my previous medicines from that same office, with Dr. Job were not on file in his computer etc. when I was given my orders to get an MRI and an X-RAY, those prescriptions that had been on file in that office were on the orders!!!
This doctor is horrible, I was going to him for years up until recently when I informed him that I was allergic to the pain medication he had prescribed and he went on the tell me that I was either going to accept the prescription he was going to prescribe or I wasn't going to get a prescription at all. I love Dr. Goel. I would not be awake and walking if I had not found him. He has always been compasionate and caring to me. I see him for back and hip appliance pain.
Dr.Goel and his staff were wonderful for me and to me for all the years I needed pain management without the epidural, cortisone & trigger point injections, I would be crippled unable or stable to walk. Yeah we didnt always agree on some small issues but overall I can honestly say he is one of the best efficient doctors I have ever had my entire life...I realize those shots don't work the same for everybody and it was a few times they didn't work for me but I would still recommend him to any and everybody...you all will be missed greatly, thank you for your service, best wishes and God Bless All!!! Dr Goel was my Dr at Via Christi Wichita, Ks, he is the BEST!!!!!!
My aunt and uncle use to see him in KS and speak very highly of him. Think in going to check him out tired of being in constant pain and chiropractor only fixes me temperary.
I am a new patient of Dr. Goel and have only seen him twice, but I have never met such a kind and compassionate doctor. He truly listens to his patients and takes the time to make sure that all of your concerns are addressed. He saw me when I was in a really bad place and gave me hope. It was a relief to finally find a doctor who truly understood what I was going through. I would highly recommend Dr. Goel without reservation.
I saw this doctor over 10 yrs ago, with an initial diagnosis of bulging cervical discs, which were impeding upon the nerves in my neck and causing excruciating pain between my shoulder blades. He had the audacity to suggest that my pain was psychosomatic (all in my head), when I questioned my treatment plan. I requested a referral for physical therapy, at which point I was informed that he doesn't prescribe "external physical therapies". He was only willing to push pills at me & do epidurals, which caused me more pain than I was previously in. I was an ICU-RN @ the time, and I was not comfortable taking pain meds while I was on the clock. I needed an alternative to narcotics and epidurals...Goel wouldn't budge. I contacted the Wichita Clinic's administration, and received ZERO response. I haven't practiced nursing in 10 years as a result of that injury and poor pain control options by both Goel and Advanced Associates In Pain Medicine. These doctors are more concerned about the possibility of addiction, than helping patients with chronic pain. Addiction occurs when you no longer have pain, yet continue to want opioids, not when those same meds are no longer aiding in pain relief due to opioid tolerance. I really wish the medical community understood that better, because these doctors are failing to truly help patients with chronic pain! Best doctor I have been to since the 1980's when I was Dr.Robert Evans patient. Dr.Goel is excellent. He takes the time to do a thorough job,and explain everything. His staff is also very competent and very nice. It's not fun to have to have procedures like a colonoscopy or endoscopy, but they make it a lot better. I don't even want to give this person a single star. I only ever saw the Dr for 5 mins as he stuck his head in the door. My one an only consultation was with his PA who basically just goes over your paperwork. Ignoring what I came in for: urgent pain around my shoulder blades (Trigger Point Injections), he gave me multiple steroid shots in my lower back, that ended up giving me sciatica. Calls to their office resulted in NO call backs. Repeatedly telling the intake nurse, the receptionist and the office manager resulted in NO calls from the PA or the Dr. I was told that this Dr only has 10 mins per patient and that his PA runs most of the office visits. Today he was mad because in talking over this with the nurse, I was making his injection schedule late. He popped his head in, and was furious at me for challenging this complete lack of dx first, treatment last, he told me I couldn't have the injection that I was currently check in for. They also could not guarantee that I would not be charged for the "nothing" visit. I don't even want to give this person a single star. Words can't describe how unprofessional I found this physician. The pain experienced with the procedures he performs is ludacris and I didn't appreciate diagnoses being "pulled out of a hat" per se. Dr. Goel stated that a shot in my back was required by insurance to cover any surgery that was required afterwards. Went thru the procedure knowing that it would not work. Found out after the fact that my insurance did not require it. Also found Dr. Goel's office did not check with the insurance before the procedure either. Neither Dr. Goel's office nor insurance company would make things right. Warning to anyone sent to this doctor to do your homework before you have the shot done.
