Dr. Ana Maria Van Der Wall

First time was horrible! I have had cancer multiple times already but after having a test that gave what I KNEW was wrong info about MY anatomy, I felt maybe it was someone else’s test result! I wanted to repeat the test. I was told that I need to trust the test and be happy, because I was a dream case (meaning I was still here)! Essentially told to stop whining about a little cancer! A 4 time cancer pt. should not doubt the science! No warmth, compassion or empathy! I cried as I left that day and waited another year for a new scan…and still know nothing! Too many in my family are already gone because of cancer, trusting tests is not easy anymore.

Dr. Van Der Wall is personable, cautious but courageous in her treatment, persistent in researching a problem, and genuinely interested in her patients. Working with her office is generally easy and with her is delightful.

Great experience, unfortunately the facility itself does not provide nursing support of equal competence. Hated to gave to make a change but needed more general medicinal support than this faculty can offer.

First time visit: I found Dr. Van Der Wall to be insulting and offered no new information from the blood tests they took. I had already received the same info from other Dr.'s I have seen. Total waste of time. The appointment was just today and I am seething about her comments. Don't know if I will do the follow up and tests she recommended. Previous comments about being self absorbed seems to apply.

Dr. Van der Wall is an excellent physician and a compassionate person. She has helped me through two different, unrelated types of cancer. In addition, she coordinated with staff at Moffitt Cancer Center to make sure I got the best, most specialized care possible for my incredibly rare second cancer. I highly recommend her and her staff.

My Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and our lives were turned upside down. We were assigned Dr. Van Der Wall from the hospital. (This was our mistake, we should have researched). This was the coldest Dr. my grandmother has ever met. After realizing my grandmother did not want chemo (no money), she was extremely cold to grandmother and family. She would never even deliver any information in person to anyone. My grandmother passed a week after a rude certified letter from doctor.

Dr. Ana Van Der Wall has been an key part of my successful treatment of a stage three cancer. Her knowledge and expertise in her field transfers to her patients in the form of confidence of care. Upon meeting her the first time I knew I would receive the best care. As well as being thoroughly professional she is welcoming and compassionate. She takes an honest interest in her patients lives and their families. As a result of my excellent care , I have already referred a family member to her.

Dr. Van Der Wall has done a remarkable job managing my mother's cancer (diagnosed in 2012). As a recent reviewer said, she is kind, energetic, warm and genuinely caring towards her patients (not sure what's up with some early reviews). We've had a number of emergency issues lately and Dr. Van Der Wall and her staff have managed to see my mother with very little notice, my mother was provided options and the issues were resolved quite successfully. Highly recommend.

She is kind, energetic, warm and genuinely caring towards her patients! She listens and recalls previous conversations about what is happening in the life of her patient.

She lacks empathy and is clearly ion the wrong profession. Marginally competent, uncaring and self centered. An oncologist no. An undertaker, perhaps.

No empathy. Totally self absorbed.
