About Dr. Andrew J Dietz
Reviews for Dr. Andrew J Dietz
Still waiting for my insurance to release charges for services that were canceled.
Be Aware and Forewarned. In this day and age when you have to trust these medical and dental people with all of your personal information like your SS # and and DL # you must be very careful. All lies from the beginning. Double charging for services = Unethical billing practices. No answers to questions and told they were too busy to help with issues I had. I was threatened to not make any "false" reviews, or I would be sued. All this is substantiated by texts, a witness and Insurance documentation. Front desk also said to me that if they sent the bill to my insurance for a temporary unit that I would not be able to get (Permanent fixed restorations) implants from another Dr. so I would have to pay cash, while they charged my insurance the same day. When my husband called while looking at the EOB online, they denied that they charged my insurance for the item after they accepted a cash down payment for it. I asked for a refund and was told that the OM was not authorized to make refunds (but she is authorized to take payments) and that I would have to wait until Wednesday to speak with the Doctors wife. Their excuse was that the insurance was charged by mistake and then the next day sent me a text saying all work legally has to be submitted to the insurance company. What is going on here? When I asked that they cancel all of it because I wouldn't be going forward being treated by this Dentist and I would be going somewhere else, they said they would cancel charges submitted for a temporary unit to my insurance company. I am still waiting for that cancelation to be sent electronically since Feb, 18th 2022 as promised. They would not send me a copy of the letter that they SAID they sent to my Dental Insurance. Meanwhile my insurance said to me No letter has been received as of that date. We all know added stress when you are looking for a competent dentist is very frustrating experience. This Office seems to rely on the public not knowing anything and not checking up on their billing practices. When I called them about these issues, they said I was harassing them and needed to calm down. In my opinion waiting until charges cleared for canceled services in an attempt to ding my insurance with charges that may remain on this yearly billing cycle. Which means you CANNOT use that amount charged to your insurance until it is removed, and it clears for services and products not rendered seems like FRAUD to me. Very unprofessional.
Honestly, a bit confused. I paid for a finished crown that was placed over a suspected cracked tooth. I developed a massive infection, and had to have that entire tooth, and a pretty intense and painful oral surgery at another dentist. I am just confused. Is that a normal practice to put a finished crown over a suspected crack? Doc was aware and told me to have a root canal. The infection started before I could get to one, and I ended up getting the tooth removed, on antibiotics for a solid month. Also, I found his terse administration of novacaine like a punch in the head. Very uncomfortable and a bit brutal. They upsold me on cosmetic stuff, too, and ignored that I had the potential for a horrible infection. And, I got to pay for it, too. I would not recommend this office. Would love to know if other dentists would have put the finished crown in place, or, would they have put a temporary and been concerned about the crack in the tooth, first?
I would not recommend Dr. Dietz to anyone. This is a highly competitive geographic area and there are many other qualified dentists. Although Dr. Dietz is highly skilled, he has repeatedly shown, in my experience, poor communication skills that extend to his clinical responsibilities , insensitive behavior in answering questions, and has adopted untrustworthy business practices under his current office manager. Pushing costly options, he shows a preference for insured patients.
Professional staff and excellent Dr. Will refer other to this office.
