Dr. Francis has been my mom's doctor for well over a year and he has been great at explaining what is going on. And most importantly, giving her shots in the eye, which can be very scary. His bedside manner is incredible and he always makes sure she is not uncomfortable in any way, which is the most important thing. It means the world to me that she is getting such excellent care. My mom has been getting these shots for a year and willingly goes back every time. Sometimes after he gives the shot, she will say "Oh, you did it already?" Dr Francis performed retinal detachment surgery on my eye. He was very thorough in his diagnosis and his diagnostic equipment is new and up to date. My vision has improved markedly since my visits began with Dr. Francis. I also appreciate his calm, articulate way of relating to patients. I have learned that his motivation in becoming a doctor in the first place was to help patients and based on my experience he is doing just that. Also, he is high tech. He seems to be up to date on the latest research on eye care based on our conversations. Some of his equipment is better than that of large institutional medical facilities. In sum, he invests his talents and energy and more in his patients in every way he can.

Takes time to explain his findings and what it means. His quiet, competent demeanor is very reassuring.

This was my first time learning about a new diagnosis for my eye & my great Opthamologist Dr Close recommended him as a specialist I should see. First of all he seemed to be in a hurry & in a rush to get in/out of appointment. When he wrote the summary of the visit, he wrote explanations of conditions that he never even explained to me & also wrote about other conditions that never even applied to me. In other words, he was so rushed, he gave me part of someone else’s diagnosis. He may be a phenomenal doctor but maybe he needs to slow down so he can at least keep his patients straight.

Dr.Francis is a good doctor, he does just like his care philosophy: “I am dedicated to providing all of my patients with the highest quality medical care possible. ” He treats patients with his intelligence, experience, and carefully explaining and reassuring them when they most need care and understanding. Whenever I contacted with him by phone or by NorthShoreConnect website, he always responded in the first time, and concerned my needs. He writes a detailed instructions and recommendations after every visit, so I fell more confident under his treatments and suggestions for my wet AMD. I will be forever grateful for his team and for Dr. Francis's perseverance, and great knowledge.

Dr. Francis is dedicated to his patients and is an exceptionally skilled surgeon who has performed hundreds of retinal surgeries with great success. He is open-minded and responds to emergencies. He went out of his way to come through for me at the last minute, thanks to a wonderful assistant who worked extra hard for me. (I could not reach him through the evening phone service, however, and the doctor in his practice taking the call did not respond to my emergency by putting a call through to him or having me called in the morning, which could have alleviated a great deal of stress...it took a lot of extra work on my part to find him.) My surgery went extraordinarily well. He treats patients with intelligence, carefully explaining and reassuring them when they most need care and understanding. He truly connects with respect and patience. I will be forever grateful for his team and for Dr. Francis's stamina, perseverance, and great knowledge.
