I was very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Andrew Lam after a hole developed on my retina. He quickly diagnosed the serious problem and clearly explained what had to be done. The operation went very smoothly and he guided me through my recovery which went very well. I was surprised that I had no pain through the whole process and my eye healed completely.

Dr. Lam became my go-to ophthalmologist/surgeon after a detached retina necessitated emergency surgery. He was able to clarify the complexities of what had happened, as well as the follow-up care. The procedure and its aftermath were anxiety-inducing. But Dr. Lam was able to access the situation and proceed in a way that, in less capable hands, might--as I later learned--have resulted in blindness. It wasn't until my final visit when I discovered just how dire my diagnosis was, and how disastrous the outcome might have been. Finally, just by chance, I discovered that Dr. Lam had been mentored by a family friend at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. When I asked Jody Seymour-Pitzer if she had heard of Dr. Lam, she assured me that I was in the best of hands. Thank you, Dr. Lam, for your extraordinary level of care.

I met with Dr. Lam and was scheduled for surgery the next day at Bay State Medical Center. Dr. Lam is extremely skilled and has a great surgical team. In addition, he is kind and caring. I had 3 followup appointments at New England Retina Consultants where the office staff was always professional and competent. Yesterday was my final appointment with Dr. Lam and I left with 20/20 vision in the operated eye. I am extremely grateful for my vision which I attribute to Dr. Lam's skill. I highly recommend Dr. Lam and appreciate having such a great resource in the area.

Couldn't imagine a better experience. So professional and capable. Great office and staff. You can feel confident with Dr, Lam. You never think about these problems until they happen, lucky to have him close by. Rest assured if anyone can fix you up, it is him.

I was referred to Dr. Lam by the Berkshire Eye Center when I presented after hours with a Retinal Detachment. I was immediately seen in his office on a Sunday night and scheduled for surgery the following day at Bay State Medical Center. The surgery was performed without incident and my recovery and outcome was textbook excellent. Dr. Lam was superb in all aspects of this event, and I highly recommend his skills along with his staff for their attention to detail.

I am a 75 year old male who was at work when my eye suddenly went black. I was referred to Dr Lam. I am so impressed with the level of my care. He took the time to explain everything to me and my wife. I was scheduled for surgery very quickly. The surgery went off without a hitch. A bubble was inserted into my eye. Over the course of several weeks my sight begin to improve dramatically. I did not have any complications and returned to my job within a week.

I went to see Dr Lam I had a Detached Retina and I lost 80% (basically blind) of vision. Dr Lam performed surgery on my eye and the surgery was a breeze.. Three months after surgery I can see! If you want a PRO you must see Dr Lam

Dr. Lam repaired my emergency retina tear, coming into the office on a Saturday evening! His calming demeanor and professional manner was a big factor in relieving my anxiety and nerves. He was very good about explaining everything that was happening and what I was going to experience during the treatment. I had a retina tear and was referred to Dr.Andrew Lam by my ophthalmologist. Dr. Lam was able to see me that day, and did a Laser Treatment on my retina. Unfortunately, I continued to have more issues that diminished my sight, and I ended up having "vitreo retina surgery." Dr. Lam explained the surgery and the risks, and helped me make the decision to do surgery on my eye. I can now see clear, and have had no complications. I had a positive experience and would refer family and friends.

Dr. Lam repaired my torn retina. It was 65% Detached. Now, two plus years later, almost three, with it repaired, I have only 2% loss on the inside of the eye. All is fantastic!!! Excellent Doctor. If you need this surgery, please have Dr. Lam do the operation. He is excellent and I can see in my right eye because of him. Thanks Dr. Lam for taking the time to learn and become and eye doctor!! A very caring doctor, took the time to aquatint himself with my particular circumstances. Offered options and his recommendation based on discussion with me. He made sure I understood all steps of the process and kept the referring doctor appraised of what was happening. The result was regaining of much of my vision and a seamless recovery. I highly recommend this talented surgeon.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Lam. He is very personable and answered all my questions.I had a very large floater that I lived with for over 4 years. When I met with Dr. Lam, he told me that it’s definitely fixable. I was so excited, because I had no idea the floater could be removed. He was very honest with me and explained the procedure and all the complications that can occur with the surgery. I made the decision on the spot to have the laser surgery done and I’m so happy I did.

We Highly recommend DR Andrew Lam. He is a skilled Retina specialist, surgeon; has great communication skills. He takes time to explain the diagnosis making sure his patients understand what has happened. And he will then communicate his recommended procedures including both the benefits and risks.
