Dr. Mikaelian truly is the best ENT doctor in Westlake. He has significantly improved my overall quality of life, and I will surely return should any other needs arise. I would highly recommend Dr. Mikaelian to anyone for anything ENT-related. He is deeply knowledgable in his profession, straight-forward, and genuinely cares. Dr. Mikaelian is the ULTIMATE professional. His knowledge and manners are absolutely SUPERB! I have been a patient for a long time as well as my wife, my 91 year old father and multiple friends and everyone comes out of a consultation absolutely elated with his knowledge and care. I hope he continues to practice for a long time.

Absolutely disappointing experience at this office. During the hight of Covid infections, I walked in and the two receptionists/nurse were wearing their mask under their chin! When I asked them to please wear their mask, their response was that the partition was enough. Mind you, this was an open partition with gaps and ventilation, which also didn’t stop any droplets from getting on things being passed on to their patients (papers, pens, clipboards, credit cards, etc.) putting not only them in danger but anyone who came into contact with them. This is at a medical facility with sick people! I’m thankful for our medical community during these tough times and have a lot of respect for them, but this was utterly shameful. I walked out the office immediately and called back for some closure. I asked if the doctor was aware of how they run the office, and they were very clear of his approval. Not only they’re putting their vulnerable patients in grave danger, but they make no effort to make you feel safe even when asked. During these tough times, every precaution needs to be taken, and to get push back at a medical facility for not wearing a mask is not only incredibly irresponsible but extremely dangerous. He was THE ONLY doc that cured my vertigo/motion sickness which I had for months-I also had a minor surgery with him and it went so seamlessly- would recommend him to ANYONE for anything ENT related!

Dr. Mikaelian has treated me for several years. I've enjoyed surfing since childhood. My ears and sinuses are sensitive to the cold winds and quality of ocean water here in CA. Dr. Mikaelian has treated me for infections and now for some hearing loss. I am thankful for his knowledge!

Great diagnostion!

He is one of the best, honest and helpful ENT Doctors I have eve been too. I would highly recommend him to anyone. An old fashion type doctor, friendly and nice and goes over everything. Also takes time to answer any and all questions. I have told all my family about him as well as friends and many are now using him.

Dr. Mikaelian is the best ENT I have ever had. He was the first to diagnose a serious problem I had that could have killed me. He referred me to a world - renowned surgeon and the problem was solved, and the 30% of normal hearing in my left ear became 70%.

Dr. Mikaelian saved my life. Truth. He was the only doctor to diagnose my thyroid cancer. I am forever grateful.

Helped cure my throat

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mikaelian. He embodies both the science of medicine and the art of medicine. I had unexplained vertigo which was diagnosed as a viral infection by another ENT in the area. I was advised by a physician/friend of mine to see Dr. Mikaelian for a second opinion. Dr. Mikaelian saw me right away. He asked me questions that (to my mind) had nothing to do with vertigo, and he zeroed in right away that I had fluid retention for some unknown reason. He asked me if I’d noticed my ankles lately. I was so nauseous with the vertigo that the thought of looking down had never occurred to me. He asked me if I’d had a high-salt meal and flown recently. Bingo! Yes, I had. How did he know? He treated the edema and vertigo, and I was back to normal in a few days. On my follow-up appointment with him, I remarked that he doesn’t use a computer as he talked with me like most doctors do. And he told me, “And have you noticed that my eyes have never left you as you are telling me your symptoms and history? I can pick up on a great many things that a patient doesn’t even know they’re telling me because I’m not distracted typing on a computer at the same time.” He was right (I’d had a similar episode two years ago, also diagnosed as a viral infection by the first ENT). Dr. Mikaelian also recommended that I follow up with an internist and he referred me to a good one (Anil Daya, M.D.). After ruling out a heart issue, Dr. Daya diagnosed the reason for the fluid retention and vertigo as life-long food sensitivities which have now caused leaky gut syndrome. Who knew? I am now on a healing protocol for my gut and have had no more edema or vertigo even after flying on vacation since. My migraines have greatly improved as well. And it all began with Dr. Mikaelian. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mikaelian. He embodies both the science of medicine and the art of medicine. I had vertigo. Dr. Mikaelian zeroed right in on edema from a high-salt cheeseburger and flying afterward. He treated the vertigo and I felt better in a few days. He referred me to an internist to uncover the reason for the edema - life-long food sensitivities which has now caused leaky gut syndrome. My overall health has greatly improved, including my migraines, all because of Dr. Mikaelian!

I have been a patient of Dr. Mikaelian for 11 years. I went to see him the other day for a minor issue. What I love about him is he cares, he explains things so thoroughly and he also has an awesom bedside manor. I am not one to refer doctors unkess I truly believe in them. I can not tell you how many people I have referred to him over the years, all I know is I always get a thank you from the person(s) I refered.

I believe Dr Mikaelian is an ok doc but when he puts you on a medication regimen, is gone when you need a refill, staff unable to order a refill, on-call doc only available for "emergencies", and the only recommendation is to go to a different doc - I'd say the doc doesn't care enough about his patients. Don't forget to bring $35 to pull your records and fax/hand you 3 pgs for your new physician. Good doc or no - this attention to detail and business practice is incompetent. No recommendation.

Saw Dr. Mikaelian today based on these reviews, so glad I did. Appointment was great start to finish. Front office staff were friendly and helpful. I was taken into an exam room right away and he was in within minutes. He was so polite and yet very professional, took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do, even taking out a diagram and showing me. During the proceedure he told me what he was doing and how it might feel. He was gentle and patient. He gave me great med advice too!

It's VERY disappointing to see rave reviews about a Dr. only to be met with the complete opposite. This doctor has a horribly, unfriendly, rude bed side manner. VERY rushed appt. and wow, a terrible listener. Interrupted us a lot when we were trying to tell him the problem. He shows a lack of interest in what is being told to him. Only wanted to get his point out. Can clearly see he has major ego complex. Rinky dink practice, too. Sterile front desk staff. Dashed hopes/waste of money/time

Both of my daughters have had nasal reconstructive surgery performed by Dr. Mikaelian. The man is genius. Seriously. One of them had major deviated septum and lots of bone that needed to be cleaned up and with both of them, they had enhancements that didn't change their uniqueness but only beautified what was there with very slight correction. I went in due to ear wax blockage. After trying OTC remedies and not having any success, Dr. Mikaelian was able to see me same-day. He cleared the blockage. It was painless (albeit there was a little pressure, which was to be expected). After, he took some time to talk to me and answer my questions. He was very friendly and attentive. He even cracked a joke to lighten the mood. Overall, the appointment took no more than 20 minutes. The front office staff was very friendly as well. My adult son just had tonsillectomy. Dr Mikaelian is quite the professional. He takes the time to explain the procedure as well as aftercare instructions. Both he and his staff are very accommodating. We wouldn't go anywhere else. He listens and understands. It's what everyone looks for in a doctor. Obviously he is quite skilled and very competent. Dr Mikaelian was extremely professional and courteous. He solved an ear problem I had for months that no other doctor could help me with. He fixed the issue same day. One of the greatest doctor visits I've ever had.

Best Ear Wax removal method ever! Completely painless and quick. My ears produce a lot of wax and in the past, I've endured very painful attempts to remove the wax buildup - sometimes unsuccessfully. Dr. M uses a microscope and a deft touch to get the job done quickly, painlessly and effectively.

Great people, friendly staff. I recently had surgery done to fix a deviated septum, Dr Mikaelian is a very nice, welcoming, professional doctor. He answered all of my questions and my nose looks absolutely beautiful.
