He is amazing. A Godsend doc. If you are okay with a male OB he is your guy. Don't think don't research blindly go with him. You will be safe.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tagavilla for many years. I have found him to be empathetic, understanding, and willing to spend extra time with a patient to ensure her needs are met. His current office is not close to me and it is worth the drive and time off to have someone listen and talk whole-body and health.

My baby was breech which was not realized until I was 6-7cm dilated. The problem itself was that I was very concerned about my baby being breech late in my pregnancy and I verbalized this multiple times to Dr. Tagavilla and his nurse. It was my number one concern with my pregnancy and I was never heard or taken seriously on the matter. Six days before I gave birth (via emergency c-section, due to breech baby) I asked for an ultrasound to confirm the position of my baby, which was ignored by Dr Tagavilla, who proceeded to tell me how ‘a baby in the womb is shaped like a kidney bean’. When the delivery nurses felt feet and told me my baby was breech after laboring for 10 hours, I felt like it was direct negligence on the Dr.’s part. I always felt respected and cared for by Dr T. He explained things well and we worked as a team to fulfill my birth plan which was unconventional. He didn’t pressure me to do things I didn’t want to do. He is open minded. He’s the best.

Couldn’t recommend Dr Tag more! Had a high-risk first pregnancy and delivery experience and I always felt heard and understood by him and his team. I especially appreciate how he took time to get to know my husband and me as well as the medical history that impacted me during pregnancy and during my hospital stay after delivery. It would be impossible to list all the ways he helped me but I will say this: If you desire a warm, friendly provider who treats you like a human and not a case number, look no further. If you want a gentle, sensitive and caring doctor that listens to your wants and needs every step of the way, look no further. Exceptional doctor who cares immensely about the wellbeing of patients in his care!!

Dr. T chose to test me early for gestational diabetes (he wanted me to do it between 20 and 24 weeks?! I waited until 24) I had every sign for gestational diabetes early in my third trimester. I told Dr. T about all my symptoms. He brushed every one off because my blood sugar levels had come back normal. My baby was in the NICU for a month and she almost didn't make it. She couldn't eat, her lungs were underdeveloped and she got stuck in the birth canal because she was so big. The NICU doctors said she displayed signs that a baby whose mother had unmanaged gestational diabetes would. She was born 10 pounds 15oz on her due date. He does what's convenient/quick and he's really impersonal. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone I know.
