Stands 5ft away from the patient and doesn’t show any concern just writes steroids and done not again

I’m disappointed to read other reviews that sound like my experience. I also found Dr Sharma to be defensive and dismissive. She made me feel like I wasn’t worth listening to, and that my specific symptoms were irrelevant.

I've been going to Dr Sharma for 6 or 7 months now and she has yet to do any type of physical exam, even though I've been to her office in person 8 times. How can a rheumatologist adequately evaluate you if she doesn't even move your joints or feel your joints/muscles?

As someone who might be seeking treatment for a mysterious condition, I would urge you to seek medical treatment elsewhere. Individuals with these conditions are often treated like we are crazy, and sadly this is the type of treatment I received at the Center for Rheumatic Diseases and Osteoporosis. I had been seeing Dr Anu Sharma for a number of years after experiencing life threatening Pulmonary Embolisms, for an unknown reason in 2017. I thought it was logical to have a rheumatologist on board, having suffered from an undiagnosed collagen vascular disease in my late teens and early 20s, and a resurgence of similar problems in the past four years. The most recent 3 times I sought a visit, I was essentially turned away, and not given any testing - even though Hopkins had specifically asked that I have testing for potential autoimmune problems based on GI issues. Fortunately, I left this practice and went to another one in Chevy Chase, and was immediately properly diagnosed.

Was very disappointed with this conglomerate business. The book full of papers to fill out. The Dr was so out of tune with me and all of the paperwork from all of the specialist I had sent to her.. I'm sure she never went over anything.She had no clue. What a waste of my time and money only to leave with 180 steroids that another Dr advised not to take because this was a forth round of steroids. This office has in house blood test center in which she order to have one and was to call me the next day. It's been a week and still no word. I have called and canceled any future appointments and will go to Johns Hopkins... I gave a one star but doesn't even deserve that. Was very disappointed with this conglomerate business. Dr Sharma doesn't quite listen to her patients in my opinion.I felt more the disease diagnose with than actually a person. On my last visit my concern was blatantly disregarded which in turn caused me month of excruciating pain.

Studies show that women under 35 are the least likely to receive proper testing, diagnosis and treatment. If a man and woman show up to the ER for chest pain, the man is more likely to get a full cardiac workup, whereas the woman is more likely to get a psych consult. My point in bringing in these studies is because there are certain doctors that consistently contribute to these issues and things won't change until these doctors start doing their job properly and treat their patients in the way they'd want their own loved ones treated. I am a medical professional and I know it's difficult when answers are not readily available, but that absolutely does not mean that it is in someone's head. More likely than not, there is a real physical issue that needs to be addressed. Dr Sharma is one of the many doctors that reinforce these studies. For lack of a better term, she is a "lazy" doctor and does not bother to look into someone's symptoms more deeply if nothing comes up. She will try to push you onto psych or tell you it's not that big of a deal etc. The way she treats patients is just grossly unacceptable and I would stay far away. I have been seeing Dr. Sharma for 10 years now, even though I live in Leesburg VA. Shes worth the trip and is top notch in her field. Thank you Dr. Sharma for making sure I'm able to keep working by keeping my psoriatic arthritis at bay.

I have found Dr Sharma to be a lifesaver. She was able to diagnose undifferentiated connective tissue disease, a very complicated diagnosis. I am feeling so much better under her care. I find her to be attentive and caring as well as knowledgeable.

This doctor appeared to be unfamiliar with my well documented medical condition. That is the only thing that explains her attitude when I attempted to have a dialogue with her. This doctor became defensive and dismissive when asked questions regarding this condition. She suggested that if I was looking for a physician to actually speak to, I should probably seek a doctor at one of the University Medical Centers. After two chances, it was time to move on. Do not waste your time or money

Very disappointed. Have to remind her constantly of her own treatment thus far. Her bedside manner is very apathetic and has been defensive when I tearfully requested that it might be time to try something else. She raised her voice, saying You're getting treated here! You're getting treatment! I was appalled. She requested more blood wk and MRI, which showed the dramatic increase in disease activity I had been trying to articulate for so long. Very limiting questions typically 1-10 pain, etc.
