There just aren't quite enough superlatives in the dictionary to describe the level of admiration, gratitude, and reverence I have for Dr. Ramappa. I was luckily able to become a patient of his after one of my most recent patellar dislocation episodes and the subsequent referral of a very helpful NP at the emergency clinic at MGH. "Mr. Islam, you have a very unique and rare condition. There's only one orthopedic specialist in this area who I would trust to fix your problems for good. He loves what he does and is supremely talented at it." These words couldn't have been more true. Two degrees from Harvard, a prestigious orthopedic residency, followed by a fellowship at the reknowned Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Vail, Colorado clearly demonstrate Dr. Ramappa's skills as a world class medical practitioner. However, it was through his interactions with him that I realized just how lucky I was/am to have him on my care team. From our very first appointment, I was able to witness Dr. Ramappa's brilliance as a diagnostician from his through questioning of my sports and activities background to his careful angular maneuvering of my oft-injured joint. Within a short time after the appointment began, I could sense that the good doctor already understood the pathology of my knee in a way that numerous physicians before him could not. Aided with x-rays, MRI, and CAT scans I finally had a full and comprehensive plan of treatment. Dr. Ramappa was very informative and empathetic in his explanation of my congenital musculoskeletal conditions and presented all possible treatment options available to me, but recommended the procedure that he believed would give me the best short, intermediate, and long term prognosis. I underwent MPFL Reconstruction with him almost two weeks ago and my recovery has been nothing short of smooth! I only wish that I had overcome my fear of surgery sooner and protected more of my precious cartilage. If you're still reading this, I very much appreciate your attention and will graciously return the favor by recommending to you someone who I regard as one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the profession. Dr. Ramappa is brilliant, kind, and meticulous in a way that you will see from very few human beings. I will forever be indebted to him as his biggest fan! Dr. Ramappa is brilliant, kind, and talented enough to tackle the most difficult orthopedic cases. He will only have your best interests at heart and mind in whatever course of treatment he prescribes. Simply the best!

My experience was amazing from the start to the end. Dr. Ramappa and Jessica Manty his PA were top notch. The day of surgery the team of nurses who where assigned to me took great care of me and made me feel so comfortable. The anesthesiologist was great on explaining how and what to expect. He made me feel very comfortable and confident that I was in good hands. I would recommend New England Baptist Hospital of Dedham to my family and friends without reservations! I visited Dr. Ramappa for a torn ACL. tl;dr - extremely competent surgeon who cares about his patients! I had a few preoperative visits before getting surgery several weeks ago. I only had to wait ~5-10 minutes at each visit which is amazing, as some orthopedists can make you wait an hour. The appointment itself is not long (~10min) but Dr. Ramappa answered all my questions and gave me additional useful information. When planning surgery, he walked me through the different options I had and the reasons he recommended a specific one. He even took the time to recommend some things for recovery, including a particular ice machine which proved to be really helpful. The operation itself was very smooth and professional. The entire team at NEBH (nurses, PA, anesthesiologist, ...) was very friendly and made me feel comfortable as I was stressed about getting my first surgery ever. Recovery has been much better than I expected!! Thank you, Dr. Ramappa, for performing such a great operation!

Amazing person and surgeon. Listens, explains, and empathizes. His whole team is an extention of that. Highly reccomend.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Ramappa today for a large meniscus tear (actually 2 tears). Dr Ramappa is friendly, comfortable to be with, answered all of my questions in depth and he was in no rush to get in and out. He prescribed PT for me to try, before moving forward with injections or discussing surgery. I felt satisfied leaving the office and I know that I am in great hands. GO TO DR RAMAPPA!
