Reviews for Dr. Asha Vali
When I was searching for a general practitioner, Dr. Vali’s web page message stood out. “They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” I’m so fortunate to have found Dr. Vali in whose presence I feel relaxed, trustful and confident. Her welcoming smile, kindness and sensitivity are very much appreciated and even more so her attentive listening. She seems to be very knowledgeable. I value that she trains medical students and others entering medical fields. The wait for my appointments has never been long. Dr. Vali is the general practitioner in whose care I’ve been most happy and healthy. Thank you, Dr. Vali. The front desk staff is so unprofessional and do not comprehend well!! I have changed my primary care provider. I told one of the women at the front desk that their attitudes will make people go on google and give the office bad reviews and she told me to do what I have to do and if I need to go online to give a bad review then do so. Dr. Vali is one of the most caring and professional physicians that I know. She has always been receptive to my concerns and taken care of me as needed. Her front desk staff Norma Martinez and Rosie, however, are uneducated buffoons who have somehow weaseled their way into her office and are honestly driving patients away. They need to be fired and not hired to ever work in the medical field ever. As you'll read in the other reviews, they are rude, unethical, and uneducated. As a patient of Dr. Vali's, I had asked for my medical records to be released to me because it's my personal property which they refused to do despite me citing Maryland laws showing them they can't refuse me my property. What's more is they were rude throughout our conversation simply because I was trying to exercise my rights as a patient. The only reason I did not take this up with the Maryland Board of Physicians is because Dr. Vali is not at fault here, her two front desk monkeys are. I don't normally name call but my god I was frustrated beyond measure for having to talk/email them for a few hours. As someone in school, I don't have that sort of time to waste, and can read my own medical reports and follow up as necessary without being told what to do. All in all, if you can deal with the idiots at the front desk, Dr. Vali is a spectacular physician worth going to. I just hope she changes her office manager and receptionist. No one here knows Dr. Vali like I do. Trust me when I tell you she's the best family doctor you'll ever find. And I can tell you this after she diplomatically dumped me as a patient a year ago. I was her patient for more than ten years. And during that time, she provided quality, competent care. The first time I saw her was in Clarksville - a single family home converted into an office. It didn't seem as organized other doctor's offices I'd visited. And while that did turn out to be true, I've since visited many, many of those more "organized" offices. And they are so cold, detached, money-driven and incompetent that I dread visiting them. It is true that the wait is sometimes too long. I learned it's always best to call before the appointment and ask if they're running behind. Sometimes they might tell you it's okay to come a little later if you can. She is a first come, first serve doctor. So if your appointment is at 1200 but the person with the 1230 appointment signs in first, you're going to wait. I've learned there's a reason she's always running behind. A good reason. There were times she spent nearly two hours with me - TWO HOURS. Be patient while she provides excellent care for the person ahead of you, so she can do the same for you. The reviews about the office staff are pure bunk. Rosie is usually working the front office. And there's no one nicer. This woman is as sweet, funny and charming as they come. Seriously. They were all great. I can now say I am probably the sickest patient she ever had. I suspected as much when my hair started falling out and no one could figure out why. I had muscle damage and bone damage. The "experts" thought I had muscular dystrophy. I do have an amazing story - it's impossible to put into words here. But while the "experts" were running me ragged and refusing to prescribe anything other than anxiety meds, Dr. Vali continued to stick with me. But after nearly two years of being so sick, losing an amazing job, nearly losing my home, and coming to the realization that this was something hereditary - because my children were showing symptoms...I finally did have anxiety. I became angry at the "experts" for having no answers and not trying harder. And I became angry with Dr. Vali when she refused to refer me to a world-reknowned oncologist that charges a mere $4000 for an office visit and one follow up. Initially, she said she'd do the referral. But I waited...and waited. She finally told me she wouldn't do it. I didn't hide how I felt as I nearly stormed out of her office. I had told her she was wrong. But perhaps she wasn't. That oncologist would have likely diagnosed me with his favorite pet disease (the one making him rich). The drugs he would have prescribed would have probably worked only by coincidence (same class of drug used to treat my disease). But I'd have gone down a much different path and would have never figured this out. And I wouldn't know how to fight the disease my children have. I have her to thank for that. This woman deserves 10 stars. Now excuse me while I go grovel and beg her to take me back. No one here knows Dr. Vali like I do. Dr, vali is a great dctr she explains everything very well. She cares about my needs. She knows whats best for me.
I’m somewhat savvy about medical professionals and very careful in my selection of personal physicians because both my father and sister were doctors. I value that she is involved in the educational process of training medical students and others entering medical fields. The wait for my appointments has never been long. I’ve known many doctors personally and as a patient in my lifetime, but Dr. Vali is the general practitioner in whose care I’ve been most happy and healthy. Thank you, Dr. Vali.
Front desk is horrible. Spoke to a lady name Tadis or Haddis to make an appointment, I was placed on hold as soon as I called. I stayed on the phone for 7 minutes with out anyone checking in. I hung up and called again to find out the lady had completely forgot I was on hold. Nevertheless, I requested to make an appointment, and then I was placed on hold. I waited five minutes without anyone checking in again. I called again, and yet again the lady forgot I was on hold. I don't think I'd trust a service if they can't make their future patient priority. Front desk is horrible. Dr. Vali is outstanding. She cares so much about her patients. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. She always gives me at least a half hour and never rushes me. She discusses the bloodwork and always follows up if there is any problem. She doesn't do unnecesary tests and only seems to prescribe when neccssary. She is totally approachable. She practices the way she was taught in Med School.

Not only do you have to wait for a long time despite having an appointment, you get rushed by the Doctor because she has several patients in several rooms that she takes at once.I was there for palpitations that wouldn't go away, she kept insisting that it was my stomach, because I was too young to have palpitations, asked me to get more rest.I'm sorry but young people die from heart attacks too!I'm never going back Not only do you have to wait for a long time despite having an appointment, you get rushed by the Doctor because she has several patients in several rooms that she takes at once.I was there for palpitations that wouldn't go away, she kept … More
Dr Vali quickly led us through the maze of testing and appointments that you have to go through when investigating a potential cancer. She got us from the initial office exam through 4 different scan appointments (MRI, CT, xray, ultrasound), helped us find a surgeon, and onto the operating table within about 2 weeks. She had to put in hours of time with offices to help us get these procedures done quickly. This is the kind of doctor intervention that saves lives. Fortunately it turned out to be benign. The front desk staff is very unprofessional and rude on the phone to patients. I understand that sometimes patients can be very demanding, but there are different appropriate and professional ways to answer a request. In addition, I am not sure if the technicians are trained enough because I once called to get lab results, but the staff member giving me the results did know what the abbreviations of tests written on the computer were, gave me her own interpretations of the names, and therefore the wrong results. I told her repeatedly that I don't agree with her interpretations and she told me I was wrong. I spoke with the doctor, who finally gave me the right information. It is OK to not be sure and say I will get back to you soon. At another appointment, a technician performed an exam on me the wrong way and the consequences were not pleasant. Also, the examination room where I usually get placed has papers, caps, opened containers, and dust everywhere on the desk and tables. I would expect the room to be clean and free of safety hazards. This is by far the most disorganized doctor's office I have been to. The front desk staff is very unprofessional and rude on the phone to patients.
