My original OBGYN was on maternity leave so they referred me to Dr Diakos and I’m so glad they did. This is my first pregnancy and she’s been amazing through every step. She’s very understanding, thorough, clear, and I haven’t felt pressured at any time. She’s eased a lot of the worries and stress that come with being pregnant. The rest of the office is also really great to work with. My original OBGYN was on maternity leave so they referred me to Dr Diakos and I’m so glad they did. If I could I would give 0 stars! I was in so much pain and she acted like it was nothing. I ended up needing to see an oncologist and it turned out to be quite something that required surgery. Also, she even in front of my boyfriend asked if I had a bunch of STD's when I was younger. WHAT??? Never, not one! She is not compassionate and plain rude. There were other things that transpired and I could go on and on here but I won't. Bottom line I would NEVER recommend her! If I could I would give 0 stars! Dr. Barb Diakos was great! She was very informative and explained things in great detail! This was my second pregnancy with Dr. Barb. Never had any issues or concerns...the staff was also pleasant, no complaints here! I would definitely recommend her!

I saw this "Nook specialist" when she was at Northwestern. She agreed to a lap immediately, and also immediately agreed to tie my tubes for birth control, so it was worth it for me to see her. But she did my laproscopic excision far more poorly than my current doctor has, and then told me I was wrong about my pain level. For ladies suffering and at their wit's end, she will believe you have Endo and do the lap you need to confirm it. But I would not return to her unless I had absolutely no other options. Loyola in Chicagoland has a whole chronic pelvic pain management team full of great doctors who are both skilled and extremely nice who can help you, and are not found on the Nook list Dr Diakos was also so rude to the nurse that I pulled her aside and gave her a pep talk. From my first office visit with Dr. Barb Diakos I felt very at ease in her care. She is detailed, thorough, extremely knowledgeable and very good at her profession. She recently performed my hysterectomy. It was my first surgery ever! I was so impressed by how smoothly surgery day went. The surgical team at Community even commented on how awesome and prepared she is. Dr. Diakos went so far as to give me her personal cell number to text or call over the weekend, if I needed her or had any question (my surgery was on a Thursday). She is the absolute best ❤️ From my first office visit with Dr. Barb Diakos I felt very at ease in her care. She is detailed, thorough, extremely knowledgeable and very good at her profession. I came to this doctor in hope of getting help for my symptoms. I have been in pain and have had feminine problems for over a year. I came to her after being treated by yet another horrible doctor, and all she could tell me was to change my laundry detergent. I would get into more details, but my list of complaints is too much. She has a horrible bedside manner and made me feel like all my problems were in my head. With the wait time, you would think she would put in the time and effort to listen to me, no. Her foot is always out the door. I have to pay for a half-hour visit for her to only give me 10 minutes of her time. The wait time for results is ridiculous. I waited over a month for these results and I am not even going to be given medication for what I have. What I have could prevent me from having kids and she won't even give me meds to help it. Do not go to her even if she is your last resort. I will be changing doctors and going to a different medical facility.

This doctor whould not be able to practice. Absolutely terrible! Her neglect and the neglect of her office staff left me in horrendous pain, trauma, near death and emergency surgery. I felt like I had to advocate for myself with every call into the office and was left without any advice. I had been an established patient. Meanwhile, I was able to see my PCP who diagnosed me with an immediately life threatening health emergency. Sent to the er at St. Joseph's who tried to turn me away as I was fighting for my life literally. Fast forward...after continuing to self advocate, I needed emergency surgery and survived with pain. This was a condidtion that should have never gone undiagnosed and unseen for weeks. Numerous and all doctors and attorneys who I met with since agree. I did file a complaint with the Dept of Financial and Professional Regulation. A lawsuit would have been to lengthy and costly from what I had been advised. STAY FROM DIAKOS AND SAINT JOSEPH HOSPITALS!!!

It was my first appointment with Dr. B. Diakos at 2:15pm.. I live 45 mins away from her office, I was running 10 mins late so I decide to call the office at 2:00pm to let them know that I am stuck in traffic but will be there. The receptionist answers and says that she will have to ask the doctor if that is okay and puts me on hold. She comes back and says that the doctor will not wait for me and that even if I show up she is already gone. I asked to speak to the doctor but she said that the doctor is gone. I didn’t understand why the doctor was gone if it wasn’t even time for my appointment. She said that because I called to let them know that I was running late (me being courteous) the doctor was now aware and left. Dr Diakos refused to grant me my 15 min grace period and left before my appointment. By that time I was only 5 mins away meaning the doctor could not wait 5 mins for a new patient. Talk about first impression. Moral of the story don’t call to let them know that you are running late.. at least if she is not gonna wait 5-15mins more she will at least have to wait till your appointment time. WILL NOT RETURN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND It was my first appointment with Dr. B. Diakos at 2:15pm.. I knew with my age and previous pregnancy issues that my pregnancy was going to be high risk. I choose Dr. Barbara Diakos as my OB. The first visit went ok, then I miscarried at 10 weeks. This happened on a Monday and they couldn't fit me into their schedule before the already scheduled appointment on Friday. When they seen me Friday we asked for a DNC but the doctor told me no because I'm 35, it's too risky and it'd be better if I delivered naturally. They told me a bunch of blood clots would fall into the toilet and I wouldn't be able to tell what was the baby. When my husband and I left her office I began to cramp. It gradually got worse throughout the evening. When I called the office back to see if there something I can take to ease the cramps (not knowing I was in labor) the nurse Andrea told me they didn't prescribe medication like that and asked if I felt I needed to go to the Emergency room. I told her I didn't believe cramps were enough reason to waist the time of an ER doctor and to please just have the doctor call me. (That was around 11 am on Friday) They NEVER called me back and I ended up delivering my baby myself in my bathroom around 8 pm that night, it looked like a baby, not like a blood clot like they prepared me to believe. My husband and I were overwhelmed and shocked with the lack of concern. Seeing how they told us to flush everything down the toilet my husband and I didn't feel like it was right to flush our miscarried baby down a toilet so we looked up and choose another option. I'm mind blown how unconcerned Dr. Diakos and her nurse Andrea were. I knew with my age and previous pregnancy issues that my pregnancy was going to be high risk. I am shocked to read some of the bad reviews about dr. Diakos. I just had my first appointment with her--and was a little nervous based on what i had read about her. She could not have been lovelier or have taken more time with me. Highly recommend!

I was a patient of Dr. Diakos requiring several ultrasounds for a cyst. In the time we were monitoring this situation, the office closed and I was not made aware. Additionally, I tried to get in touch with her office for 8+ months to receive my medical records including the multiple ultrasounds I had received in the past few years. I was forced to go to another doctor and re-start the process all over again, including costly bills. This situation has left me with little faith in OBGYN practice.

I saw Dr. Dialogs for a surgical consult for my uterine fibroids and endometriosis( she is one of very few doctors in Illinois who have specializes in endometriosis). She could not have been nicer! She was extremely knowledgeable and took as much time to explain the disease to me and come up with a more conservative and what I believe will be a helpful plan other than total hysterectomy. I highly recommend her!!

If I could give her a zero I would. Worst OBGYN on the planet. Horrible bed side manner, doesn't care about your feelings at all. She should have her license taken away. I hope all of her future patients read this so they are saved the trouble and heartache of going to someone who 1. doesn't know what they are doing medically 2. Is mostly out of town so you won't be able to get an appointment made through the unintelligible secretaries 3. wont answer any of your questions you may have

I was with the Diakos practice until my 37th week of pregnancy, when a series of unprofessional circumstances forced me to change practices. I am happy I did, my new Dr and practice were amazing. One thing to note, NEITHER doctor gave or advised me to get the TDAP vaccine. When I went into labor, nothing was notated. After giving birth to a healthy baby girl, I called to ask if I had the vaccine and was told that the office didn't give the vaccine and it was up to me to get from my primary.
