I saw this doctor in his office on 12/13/22 for hip pain. Had an MRI report and a disc with me. Dr K recommended a hip replacement, to which I agreed. Dr K said his office “would be in touch with me.” It is now 1/26/23 and I still haven’t heard from this office to schedule surgery. I have called the office several times and left messages and still have not received a call back. I gave up on this office ever calling me. I have an appointment to see another Orthopedist in Bergen County and hope to have surgery soon at HUMC. Very disappointed in this doctor; I have been in pain since seeing Dr K 12/13/22. Extremely unprofessional, to say the least. If I had seen a different doctor instead I might have had the surgery already. Would not recommend.

I have been maintaining my bone on bone right knee for the last 6 years with great success. The most recent Gel Shot lasted over a year but has worn off. I used the web to request an appointment on 12/27 and received a phone call on 1/4, very good response considering the Holiday week. I was given an appointment for the same day and after completing the web forms check in received my gel shot renewal in a record 30 minutes. A most pleasant visit.

As much as I like Dr. Kraushaar, his practice has gone down hill. His office is ruining his good name. I was hurt back on April 5th, instead of prescribing an MRI of my knee, I received a shot of cortisone. A week later I was still in excruciating pain. I called the office and asked for an MRI to be done right away! An MRI was performed just to find out that I need a full knee replacement! On May 6th Dr. Kraushaar called me the day to inform me and that “his assistant” ( leaving names off of here) would be calling me to schedule. I never heard from anyone, meanwhile I am in severe pain! I have called the of the assistant four times with no response. I even called the main line asking to speak with Dr Kraushaar and the woman who answered wouldn’t let me. She said that she put a note right in the assistants hand to call me and two weeks later, still no call! Today a month later. She finally calls to “schedule my surgery “. Meanwhile I have already switched to the Hospital of Special Surgery. I mean how long am I supposed to sit in this pain waiting for a call?!?!? Imagine how the after care would be smh. I have lost total trust . I would be telling this to the Doctor and not writing a review BUT no one will leave a message for him and there’s no voicemail or email :( very unfortunate As much as I like Dr. Kraushaar, his practice has gone down hill. Always EXCELLENT care from Dr. Kraushaar! Both my wife and I have been under his care whenever we have needed orthopedic services. HIGHLY recommend him.

During the absolute worst time of ANYONE’s life was covid and as a first responder I know too well. I was running to an emergent call and blew my knee out. Dr. Krashuaer saw me limping on a critical care unit- stepped in and took care of me the same night and next day. He ensured me medically and empathetically that I would be ok. I was operated on as soon as they cleared the OR’s to open. I was able to work and for a month with the injection and support he gave me and have a wonderful outcome. My family and I have all been seeing Dr. Kraushaar for years now. He has operated on my wife and has taken care of my three children as well. When I broke my ankle he was there to help me and get me through that. When I dropped a 40lb floor panel on my foot and broke all my toes he was there for me again. Geez, looking back we are all just a bunch of klutzes. LOL. Seriously though, if you are looking for the best orthopedist in the County, possibly the State look no further, you have found him. I was in need of a partial knee replacement due to arthritis and Dr Kraushaar identified the issue, recommended surgery and did a spectacular job. I'm performing all my regular activities including horseback riding, gardening and yoga. I don't even think about my knee when before the surgery it was a daily struggle. I would recommend this doctor (and do) to anyone in need of a knee replacement.

I’ve been going to Dr. Krashuuar for different ailments, I should be put in bubble wrap ( haha). Each time I have seen him , he has treated me with respect, always listens to my concerns and fears, explains everything to me (not medical terms). If I ever have a problem, I know I could always call the office and he will get back to me. My lasted stint with Dr. Krashuuar was a hip replacement, I am doing Awesome! It’s been a little over 2 months and putting a lot of miles on it. I am so Happy and fortunate that he could do this for me. I broke my wrist in a car accident. I was recommended to see this doctor. He tormented me that day as he pinned my had up and physically tried to push my bones back in place. I was sobbing, and pleaded for him to stop.,He ignored my distress and continued as if he was a mad man. Afterwards he had the nerve to ask if we were Good!! He put my arm in a cast in which I left and complained to staff about what took place. They told me to talk to him. I couldn’t get out of there soon enough.Two days later, I personally took off the cast due to enormous pain. Went to another doctor who told me a cast would had left me deformed. I had my surgery yesterday by another doctor, and I’m feeling a lot better already. This doctor is a fake. He has no real skills, and I feel sorry the people who place their hope in him. I will never forget what he put me through, and he’s lucky according to my attorney that we couldn’t sue him. Please do yourself a favor, and stay away from this guy!!! Had MRSA staph that was misdiagnosed at hospital. Had many complications. Refused to go to court for compensation. Took 6 years for me to get range of motion. After 14 years still don’t have full range. Would never recommend or go to practice every again

I read the reviews, did my homework and felt comfortable trusting dr Kraushaar when I had a problem with my hip. He misdiagnosed me, performed a surgery he thought would fix the problem, told me he “saved” my hip and sent me on my way to an even more incompetent rehab. I knew something was wrong after the surgery. I was in incredible pain, and when I told the dr, I was told to give it time. But after months of healing and rehab, I finally went back for another mri and was told that the surgery didn’t fix the issue. In fact I was told after losing almost 2 years to this issue, that I’d need a hip replacement. Moral of the story, if you have any serious hip or joint issue, go to HSS in Manhattan. They helped me on day one, diagnosed with an X-ray and simple examination. I was told that no surgery other than a hip replacement would help me. I had the surgery and walked out of the hospital the next day, completely pain free. No thanks to dr Kraushaar. ***UPDATE*** Dr. Kraushaar's response is completely ridiculous. He did not properly diagnose the condition I had, and never told me I would eventually need a replacement. He misdiagnosed me and performed a surgery that cost me another year of pain and loss of mobility. Throughout my rehab, I communicated my continued pain and symptoms, he told me to give it time. He never diagnosed my actual condition which was hip dysplasia, which any doctor would tell you that performing a labrum repair surgery on a hip that is malformed will not work. It is my pleasure to write this recommendation for Dr. Kraushaar and his team. Late one Friday afternoon, in September 2020, I shattered my elbow in a bicycle accident. The local ambulance company advised me to call Dr. K. Dr. Kraushaar graciously kept his facility open to accommodate my late arrival. He took x-rays and braced my arm alleviating much of the pain. A few days later, he operated on me, reattaching the elbow with a bracket and screws. His team was friendly and answered all of my questions. For the next few months, I returned to his facility every few weeks where his PA, Andrew, monitored my progress. Andrew, like Dr. K. is very friendly and very professional. I went to physical therapy for the interim. The PT and Andrew communicated with each other regularly. On February 4th, 2021 Dr. K. removed the bracket. Today, February 12th, Andrew removed the staples. Within a few months, I expect to make a full recovery. I have singular appreciation for Dr. Kraushaar, Andrew, and the rest of the team. Dr Kraushaar is always responsible and professional. He answers all my questions patiently and explains things in layman’s terms. I have never waited more than a day or two for an appointment and Dr Kraushaar is quite prompt. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. Dr Kraushaar tried everything possible to help me to avoid surgery but it’s now the only option. I have every confidence in his ability as a surgeon and I’m looking forward to eventually being pain free . Dr. Kraushaar did an amazing job on my sisters knee! He is a true blessing. Prior to surgery she was unable to navigate stairs successfully. She was also unable to work out or enjoy walks with her family. Currently, she is out and about, taking daily walks and ended the year with a 41.1 pound weight loss. Dr. Kraushaar was really thorough. I'm so happy Nicole, my Physical Therapist from IvyRehab, recommended him! He did a ton of special tests and made sure we figured out exactly what was going on with my knee. I would recommend Dr. Kraushaar to anyone! Thanks for taking the time with me and making sure we had a game plan in place to address my knee pain.

I had heard what a great surgeon Dr. K is but he is also a great diagnostician! I went to him for a second opinion after another orthopedist said I needed knee surgery. While removing fluid from my knee he knew something else was going on. He sent me for a couple of tests, including Lyme disease. This turned out to be the problem I had been having for months. Thank you again Dr. Kraushaar! I will be back when my arthritis really needs to be addressed.

A very positive experience- Dr. Kraushaar is an accomplished doctor who remains accessible to his patients, listening attentively and clearly explaining treatment options. Office staff helpful and efficient-no long wait times on hold when calling. Northeast Orthopedics uses a patient portal so you can easily see your past therapies and progress notes. A seamless operation-highly recommended.

Dr. Kraushaar performed a bilateral knee replacement, and 2 weeks post op I was walking on my own! He’s an excellent surgeon who doesn’t rush you, and his assistant Andrew is terrific. Highly recommend him!

I've been using Dr. Kraushaar since 2012. Broken wrist, high ankle sprain and water on my knee. He is honestly the best doctor I've ever had. He's fixed everything I've gone into the office for. He does not elect for surgery, in fact he does everything to keep that from happening. If I had known of him prior to my mother needing 2 new knees and 2 new hips, I would have sent her to him. Knowing that he would have been 100% involved in making sure that the physical therapist was doing what was needed. Was there a few days ago for my 2 wrists and shoulder. Front desk lady was great. The woman who called me in the back room was pleasant. The xray girl Ann Marie was wonderful. So i see Dr. Kraushaar and all he did was give me a cortisone shot in my right wrist. He leaves me hanging with my left wrist and shoulder. No kidding. LOL. I said to him how about some muscle relaxers for my nagging shoulder he said no. So i drove over to CityMD and they gave me a prescription and my shoulder is feeling better already. As for my left wrist I made a appointment with another orthopedic. In my opinion this Dr. Kraushaar was worthless. I call it the way I see it. Also,the checkout girl was horrible. She was a young black girl with a attitude.

Dr. Barry Kraushaar is a great doctor and diagnostician. During our initial consultation with him he actually took the time from his busy schedule to conduct an extremely comprehensive analysis of the history, symptoms and treatments done before we met with him. My daughter inured her left knee during a soccer tournament – we had seen 13 previous doctors, had 4 MRIs done and not one of them could properly diagnose the issue or figure out how to solve her medical issue. After trying some less invasive options, he successfully performed her knee arthroscopy in December, 2019. Dr. Kraushaar found the issue which could not be detected by an MRI – his in-depth knowledge and vast experience coupled with a great deal of logic and brilliant problem-solving skills is what made the difference in my daughter’s life. After being in pain every day since 6/28/2017, Dr. Kraushaar restored her quality of life which is immeasurable.

I slipped on the ice and broke my ankle. Luckily for me when they brought me into the emergency room Dr. K was the orthopedic surgeon on call. He operated on me that night and in 2 days I was back home recuperating. He’s a good surgeon with good bedside manner and he gives his utmost to every patient. In fact I am going back to him for hip replacement surgery this spring.

Dr K was so upfront about what to expect and his sense of humor put me right at ease. Follow up care was exceptional!

Dr. Kraushaar performed anterior total hip replacement for me three months ago. While I had hoped it wouldn't be necessary, an MRI confirmed what Dr. Kraushaar had predicted on my first exam. He was always patient and thorough, answering all of my (many) questions and concerns. His knowledge and skill is outstanding, and his PA's and office staff are professional, knowledgeable and always pleasant in their very busy office! Hip replacement is very common these days, but for the patient, it's still a major undertaking. My husband and I are very pleased with the outcome, and it's because of the care we received during this entire process. I would recommend Dr. Kraushaar without hesitation.

I went to Dr. Kraushaar barely able to walk and in a lot of pain. X-ray pictures showed that my hip joint was close to being completely destroyed. Dr. Kraushaar’s caring and understanding approach , his detailed explanation of what to expect gave me strength and hope. On the day of surgery, he approached me several times before the surgery trying to encourage me, and reducing my fear of surgery. His knowledge, professionalism and a fact that he is a great surgeon have generated amazing results - I was able to walk (with a walker) 12 hours after the hip replacement surgery. Dr. Kraushaar recently performed an anterior hip replacement on me. I can't believe how pain free I was and how quickly I recovered. The anterior approach was definitely the way to go for me. My other hip is about to go and I will look no further than Dr. Kraushaar to help me again.

I recently had knee surgery with Dr. Kraushaar. I found him and his staff very professional. He explained what he was going to do and why in a very clear way. I was able to have the surgery relatively soon after my appointment with him. Surgery was done well for a meniscus tear and recovery very quick. Then had 2 follow up appointments. Overall experience was excellent. My son had 2 ulna surgeries in the past with very favorable outcomes also. I would highly recommend Dr Kraushaar!

Wonderful doctor, very approachable, knowledgeable, professional. Wound up needing surgery after trying not to need it with his help. Everything he said is exactly what happened. I thought Dr. K was downplaying things and that recovery was going to be bad. I walked out of surgical center on my own, no cane or other support. Pain was manageable but I did have meds to take if necessary. Office visits: Dr. K is very friendly, funny, and makes you feel as though you are of the only importance

I have used Dr. Kraushaar (and his brother as my real estate lawyer fyi - also 5 stars) on a few occasions. He has been straight forward, up-front, and explains everything to my satisfaction. I will use him every time I have an issue.

I recently had a labrum tear fixed and from beginning to end Dr. Kraushaar has been extremely empathetic, honest, and genuinely just nice. He has a team that represents him well and so far.. I am healing nicely. I would recommend him for any needs that fall within his specialty.

Dr. Kraushaar is a very dedicated surgeon who cares about each and every one of his patients. As a PT colleague, I highly trust his skill set and knowledge enough to refer patients confidently. Personally, I trusted his expertise in treating my 91 year old mother-in-law when she fractured her hip. He met us in the ER after office hours and made sure her care was top notch. He loves what he does and it shows through the care he provides!

Dr. Kraushaar performed surgery on my daughter's torn ACL, meniscus and a bone chip of the knee. It was a tough surgery and was a little more invasive then originally thought. He performed amazingly and my daughter was on her way back. On our followup appointments after surgery, Dr. Kraushaar explained everything very thoroughly and told us what lied ahead. Any questions we had were answered in a professional manner and made us all feel comfortable knowing we made the right decision. Great Dr.

I went to Dr. Kraushaar with severe knee pain and he treated me with gel shots. The results were miraculous.

Dr. Kraushaar repaired my hip labral tear this past Winter. This is the first time in a long awhile I am able to move, walk and sleep without almost no pain. I am less than 3 months out and I already feel a world better. Dr. Kraushaar is thorough, accessible and confident. I would recommend him to anyone.

I have been in pain with my hip for 2 1/2 Years. I have seen other orthopedic doctors that diagnosed me with bursitis and was given three cortisone shots within those years that left me swollen and bruised. Finally an MRI was done that showed I had a labrum tear Dr. Kraushaar was referred to me by several people. I am one day post op and in my way to being pain free after years. Dr. Kraushaar literally gave me my life back!!! He cured my AVN in my right hip through a total hip replacement. He's a skilled surgeon with a great bedside manner and very attentI've to any questions you might have. I'm 2 months post op and doing great!!!

Dr Kraushaar performed robotic surgery on my partial knee replacement It is amazing how much better I am. I can now go from only walking a block to feeling almost 100%. And he also makes me laugh. I highly recommend him and robotic surgery. Maria Pesin

My mom fell and broke her elbow. Dr. Kraushaar was able to schedule her surgery ASAP. Given her age, we couldn't believe how fast her recovery time was, as she was able to have almost full motion only a month after surgery. He made her feel really comfortable the whole way through! I highly recommend Dr. Kraushaar.

Staff making the appointment - pleasant and competent! Minimal wait! Arrived for my appointment and Dr. Kraushaar was extremely knowledgeable, professional, caring and knew the exact spot to treat. Dr. Kraushaar’s hands are a gift from God! Prior to complete hip replacement, I suffered from severe pain for many yrs, making normal daily tasks impossible. Dr. Kraushaar came highly recommended by other drs., hospital staff & patients. He is personable & the staff at NEOSM takes the time to be caring while maintaining an efficient office. I was able to return home from the hospital after a few days post op. At 73 yrs I am in awe & forever grateful to him for giving my life a new beginning!

Dr. Barry Kraushaar is like a miracle worker! He has helped me tremendously countless times over the years... I am so grateful to him. :) Today, he injected my right hand with cortisone, which can be excruciatingly painful, but he made sure to first freeze the affected area, then numb it and then proceeded with the shot. To my surprise and my relief, it was not bad at all. I highly recommend Dr. Kraushaar to all of my friends and neighbors because of his expertise in his area of othopedics.

My review today has nothing to do with my actual injury. And I am so upset with how my appointment went that I am actually sitting in my car writing this review before I get distracted with life and forget to write it. Today I had a follow up for an MRI with Dr. Kraushaar. After waiting longer than an hour to see him he walked in with his typical condescending fast talking attitude. Which is really not the reason for this review either because I'm quite used to his attitude… And typically I tolerate it because I'm not there to be his friend and as long as he gets the job done and accurately diagnoses I could really care less if he's a narcissist in his personal life. Today after telling me the technical name for my diagnosis. I began to say I did not understand what that meant when he cut me off and seemed quite bothered saying with a very condescending tone "wellllll if you let me get there I'll explain" Again although it was rude to say the least I let it go because I could care less about the person he is as he is not part of my inner circle in my life. Then he's dictating notes to an assistant at the computer about my injury then As she scrolls down the screen she sees a list of what is either previous appointments or previous prescriptions ( I have been a patient at his office many times in the past ) The assistant says: "wow" as she's scrolling. And he responds saying "yeah, frequent flyer" and he excuses himself. As I'm telling the woman I'm checking out with what happened and how upset I was with his behavior he walked out and asked if there was a problem. I told him I didn't appreciate his "frequent flyer" comment. And it would be my LAST visit to his office. He tried to tell me he was discussing ANOTHER patients file. To which I responded " even if that was the case you have no business discussing another patient's file while you're in the room with me" I am appalled at the lack of professionalism I witnessed today. My review today has nothing to do with my actual injury. And I am so upset with how my appointment went that I am actually sitting in my car writing this review before I get distracted with life and forget to write it. … More

I broke my leg in Feb 2014 (both the tibia and fibula at the top of the ankle) and was treated quickly competently and with complete respect by Dr Kraushaar. It's now been a couple of years and I opted not to take out the hardware (plates, bolts etc) and I am having no issues whatsoever. MANY THANKS to Dr Kraushaar and his staff. My family and I have used Dr Kraushaar for many years. Over the years he has performed a few surgeries on my husband, and fixed a a couple of broken limbs on my children.
