No visit. Just an old baseball teammate, Gary Householder. I know for a fact that if the Doc eats candy bars ,he will hit home runs.

Dr. Paysinger performed surgery on my sinuses and has been most receptive to all my questions and concerns. I am glad I choose Dr. Paysinger, he is patient and caring, and is always just a phone call away. Thank you Dr. Paysinger.
The most arrogant & rudest doctor I have ever met in my life. Took my son in for a follow up visit for tubes in ears. After he checked my sons ears I asked him if he would look at a nodule below his ear. Apparently he got mad bc he had already done his exam & had to slide back across the room on his stool to relook at the ear & in the rudest way possible said, “is there anything else I need to look at while I’m already over here?!” He said what he did w surgery was correct & the nodule had nothing to do w it. I didn’t say it did, I just wanted him to check the nodule to make sure it wasn’t anything bad. My husband & I were in shock that a “professional” could act this way. I will NEVER go back.
Saw Dr Paysinger in his newer location off of Devine Street recently. Really nice office and facilities. I was taken back immediately and saw the doctor shortly thereafter. Dr Paysinger is a very smart man but he is also very caring and attentive. I have had a couple of procedures done by him and a full blown sinus surgery. I have never had a complaint. His new office has a state of the art MRI which allowed him to quickly diagnose a sinus infection and prescribe treatment. Would recommend him to anyone with ear nose and throat problems.
Surgery with many visits. Very good care and concern.

Having Dr. Paysinger do my septoplasty and turbinate reduction was the worst decision of my adult life. During my initial appointment, he brushed off my question about whether the surgery would affect the outward appearance of my nose, acted like it was the stupidest question a patient had ever asked, and assured me that he had done many of these surgeries and never had a problem. I went through with the surgery. After the surgery, Dr. Paysinger was dismissive of my pain and discomfort. After the surgery, my nose collapsed. I immediately went to an ENT/Plastic Surgeon, who informed me that I had a saddle nose deformity, which was caused by overresection of cartilage during my septoplasty. In other words, Dr. Paysinger apparently cut out too much cartilage during the surgery. The middle of my nose was now collapsed and I had minimal airflow through either nostril. I was worse off than before my surgery. I spent months fighting my insurer to cover the revision surgery, and finally BCBS got the opinion of an outside plastic surgeon during their review of my claims denial. That surgeon agreed that my septoplasty was the cause of my problems and that this complication was one that was medically necessary to fix. My plastic surgeon had to cut out a significant portion of rib cartilage (since there was no nose cartilage left) and essentially rebuilt my nose and redid my septoplasty. He did an excellent job considering what he was starting with. But my nose and face will never, ever be the same. Plus, I spent thousands of dollars now in out of pocket expenses and had to go into significant debt to get the revision surgery. During my fight with the insurance company, I requested my records from Dr. Paysinger. There was a section that listed all of the warnings, complications, and side effects that Dr. Paysinger noted he advised me of. These were absolute lies. He never advised me of any potential complications and treated my questions about complications as if they were stupid and naive. I have a lot of respect for medical professionals, and I understand that complications happen sometimes. But it appears this was avoidable. Certainly, at a minimum, he should have advised me that this was a potential complication. It is horrendous that he treats his patients the way that he does. I regret my decision to go with Dr. Paysinger every single day. And I’m still climbing out of the debt that he put me in to fix his screw up. Great doctor.
Dr. Paysinger has been treating my family members for 25 years, and we have greatly appreciated his professionalism, honesty and heart. From my parents to my infant (and now adult) son, Dr. Paysinger has treated both simple and complex geriatric and pediatric issues. He has patiently offered guidance and treatment to my aging parents with their issues and assisted both us and our son with ear tubes surgeries, perforated eardrums, and lingering complex problems. At all times, he has treated each of us with the utmost respect, ability and concern. He has been there so many times at so many anxious moments, and I cannot imagine taking any members of my family to anyone else for treatment! In our world of so many complicating opinions, options and medical advice, we trust him entirely to guide us through all the medical storms and are most grateful for his help! Dr Paysinger has been my ENT for over 15 years. I suffered with chronic allergic sinusitis since I moved to South Carolina 20 years ago. I was having 6-8 sinus infections a year and was always sick. I had been to multiple Drs and ENTs and all they did was put me on multiple rounds of antibiotics. I was referred to Dr Paysinger by a family friend and he immediately had scans of my sinuses done where he found that every sinus in my head was infected and scarred over to the point they could not drain which is why the antibiotics were not working for me. I had surgery right away where he removed the scar tissue and fixed my damaged septum. With in 2 weeks I had improved so dramatically that I was able to smell for the first time in years. 5 years later I contracted Allergic Fungal Sinusitis from mold I was exposed to. Thankfully Dr Paysinger diagnosed it early and was able to remove the fungal matter from my sinuses before it caused too much damage. AFS can be difficult to treat with a high rate of reoccurring, thankfully I have had no issues ever again with this due to Dr Paysinger’s treatment. I recently had to see him again for a sinus infection and his staff got me in right away knowing my past history and had me taken care of and infection free in just a few weeks. Their new facility is beautiful and it was really helpful that I could have my CT Scan in office and he could read it immediately so I didn’t have to wait to receive treatment. Dr. Paysinger performed a procedure to fix my deviated septum some years ago and have not had a sinus infection since! This is from someone who suffered from chronic sinus problems. He is a wonderful physician who cares for his patients and his staff was wonderful as well! I even referred my sister and niece to him, and both had great outcomes! Did an absolutely horrible job in my nose. I had turbinate issues in my left nostril which prevented me from breathing out of that nostril. Had TWO-yes 2 surgeries and still did not correct the issue. To make things worse my nose is very asymmetric now & looks really bad. I'd smack him in the face if I had the chance

I had the misfortune of getting Kelley for my nurse at the surgery center. She was not only unkind but did not follow through with requested medication/Rx changes that needed to be made. I woke up from anesthesia in a panic attack. I tried to remove a drip rag taped above my lip and Kelley screamed at me. It is just gauze with tape and could be reapplied. I told her that I was having a panic attack as my teeth chattered. She then lectured me about telling the anesthesiologists about my anxiety before surgery. I have had surgery before, and never had an attack. Prior surgeons seemed more aware of SLE/Lupus and always gave me prednisone. I noted that opioids would not work on me, and that I would need something for inflammation. She was antagonistic, said "do you want me to bother the doctor during surgery?" I said please have him call something in for me as soon as he is through. I noted again that I would swell up with the Lupus. She did not do this. Her supervisor and the doctor's office verified this today. The opioids they pumped into me had no affect on the pain. I tried one prescribed opioid because medical staff refused to get back with me. I swelled up. My lips and face swelled up. My lips split in places due to the swelling. My husband says he confronted the doctor before we left about my meds. being wrong, but he did nothing (seemed to disregard him). Did nobody care? If I had not found a few left over prednisone from an old taper, my face would have continued to swell. It took 3 &1/2 days to be able to go to the bathroom, but it was painful. Urination became increasingly painful. This should not have happened. During my first visit with the doctor, I clearly noted that opioids did not work for me. If I did not have left over prednisione, I would have been in the emergency room over the weekend. Not everyone is the same and responds the same way to medication. Listening to people would be helpful. I called the doctor’s office again today. Another individual named Kelley noted they had my messages, but no one called me back. She seemed to think it wasn’t their responsibility to call me back. I cancelled my next appointment. This lack of follow-through was very upsetting. Kelley told me that I would have to come in again for a new prescription for pain. I was in pain all weekend. The inflammation is another issue. I did not have to come in for meds for inflammation. She got snippy and said go to urgent care if your issues are so bad. I did end up receiving emergency services today. The inflammation was due to a reaction to opioids pumped into me at surgery. They had to catheterize me. The pain was excruciating. Not once did the Doctor’s office call to see how I was doing. They never returned a call regarding the wrong prescription. I was left talking to a secretary who told me to go elsewhere. I will not be back. I had the misfortune of getting Kelley for my nurse at the surgery center.
