Dr. Boris Zats

Called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Zats for implants and extractions per recommendation and was placed on hold for over 40 minutes and then hung up on. The receptionist was extremely rude, should we reconsider the recommendation. Very disappointing service.

The place is clean. The doctors are nice and have good bedside manners but the staff is rude and aggressive!!!

Procedure was fine & quick. Dentist (not naming) was ok despite an off handed comment about my weight I had to laugh off cause like I was in serious need of help. Gotta love getting fat shammed. Got my wisdom tooth extracted, was quoted 450, but was told it’s actually 650 which is fine, like I needed it out & it was still a good price, but I wasn’t given any ice for the swelling & I’m a bit confused by that. I had gotten extra gauze but why not an ice pack? I was there for a few minutes after to pay, sign the receipt & wait for my cab and no one asked or offered me an ice pack, despite the dentist saying We have to put ice on it right away. 650 dollars & no ice ????????. They didn’t give me any forms to send to my insurance for reimbursement & Also they gave me a fever reducer Tylenol (Which taking too much Tylenol can damage your liver) instead of an actual pain killer like Naproxen, (tho I do have and allergy to to some). As I’m laying here trying to go to sleep for the last hour & a half but can’t because of the pain & knowing it’ll get worse before it gets better, I’m glad i don’t have a fever & I’m kicking myself for not picking up something different. Not a bad place & i would actually recommend, also greatly appreciative for removing my tooth, it was a quick, painless breeze. But now I’m tired & literally crying in pain, it feels worse than when I was hit by a car tbh. Giving 4 stars for a good job, but they lose 1 for not giving ice for swelling & for saying my body was what made the chair move back, when I asked “no for a heads up?”. My anxiety was so bad before the procedure & I was trying to hard to stay calm & not run out of there, But thank you for the fat joke removing the tooth & the Tylenol/antibiotics! ???? Over the years my whole family became patients of Dr. Boris Zats. The doctor successfully performed complex extractions and the installation of implants. Dr. Dmitriy Tokar was the best. He understand I had a phobia of dentistry since I was a kid and made me very comfortable by offering ways to relax and decrease my nervousness and anxiety. Most importantly, he was very thorough and explained my dental plan options as well as his recommendations!!

I’ve done several complex procedures here (implants, extractions, etc) and this surgeon’s the best out there. Very professional, modern office with a nice staff as well. They take all major insurance plans, but their cash prices are great too. Highly recommend.

This doctor does not need advertising, but I want to share my own experience. Dr. Zats Installed 9 implants, including the upper one with the addition of bone. right and left into the maxillary sinuses. Painless, no problem. Very bad bed side manners and hands of steel. Banged into my lips so many times during procedure. Had a tooth extracted and even though made appt to extract asked to prepare for an implant and after done i asked him why he didn't do prep for the implant. He tells me too late now. If you have read the reviews everyone is talking about the receptionist. Yes, you may dislike her but however I'm here to share my opinion about the doctor's work not the receptionist. The Doctor is amazing! You can all notice he is gentle, wonderful, professional, and mostly important he cares.

Great doctor! Dr. Zats is really professional. Two weeks ago I had a surgery and it was so professional, gentle, painless. After the procedure, I didn’t feel any pain. Even after the surgery Dr. Zats was caring. He is the best oral surgery doctor!!

One of the best Oral surgeons in NY. Went there during emergency wisdom teeth removal and Dr. Zats calmed me down and removed without a hassle. I have been going to your office for many many years! I had an appointment with you 2 months ago, all went well! Today I called for another appointment, it is 12:15 Friday June 26,2020 I had no one to take me therefore I had to cancel, unfortunately I did not get the lady’s name I Just spoke to, a heavy Russian accent! She was extremely Rude, I didn’t finish speaking she hung up On me! Tried to call back no response! Seriously, probably coming in over 10-12 years although no one is very friendly, which is fine I’m there to get teeth extracted but never rude! Dr Zats was professional, did the extraction no issues thank you for that! This lady was unprofessional Rude just terrible I am an extremely nice person, made me very uncomfortable! Maybe you could discuss her phone etiquette , professionalize her phone manners! Thank You

Dr. Zats performed a surgery on me and that went well. Although I was very nervous the nurse there was very supportive and caring. However I did not like communication with front desk staff short black hair lady. On the day of the surgery I followed Dr. Zats instruction and called after my surgery when I felt my pain is not going away despite taking 3 times more iboprofen then I should have. A lady with short black hair was answering my call when I said the pain medication is not helping me with my pain and I need to speak with the doctor. She was very short with me on the phone. She stated take Tylenol with Iboprofen, doctor is in surgery I will let him know you called and she hang up the phone. I wrote an e-mail to doctor’s attention with no response yet. In one hour after I called initially my family called again and someone other then lady with black hair answered the call and said I don’t know who you spoke to and I am sorry for the delay and she sent stronger pain medication with doctor’s approval to my pharmacy. I felt very upset about this situation because I was in a lot of pain and I did not get attention I deserved immediately and that is why I am sharing. The best doctor ever.

I am coming back to Dr. Zats for another dental implant on other side. Dr. Zats is amazing! He is nice, pleasant, very professional and highly knowledgeable. Excellent, friendly staff. Good luck in the new opened office!

Dr. Zats is an amazing professional. I had a tooth extraction that was very fast and painless. Didn’t have pain even the next day. Highly recommend to anyone who needs dental surgery or tooth extraction done.

I had multiple family members being treated by Dr. Zats including my son and my mom for various issues including tooth extractions to evaluation for broken jaw. Dr. Zats is highly professional and knowledgeable as problems presented were not straightforward and involved some critical thinking and evaluate. Dr. Zaps consulted with appropriate individuals and made the right decision for all situations. He took time to explain the pros and cos and possible complications. When it came to the procedure time for my son, everything was seamless. Dr. Zats made sure my son fully recovered form anesthesia and even followed up with the phone call the next day. His office staff is very accomodating and professional. I would only trust Dr. Zats when it comes to oral surgery procedures. He is the best!

I was having jaw pain and ear aches and headache for over two months I was assuming it was my wisdom teeth due to my X-rays when I finally saw the doctor she said my wisdom teeth were not causing the pain and to “find another reason for all of this pain” and that’s how she walked out the room after she examined me. As a doctor your patients don’t practice this kind of stuff and don’t know everything instead of being nicer she was very rude. The ladies that work there are also rude on the phone.

So far so good. My husband and I both had tooth extractions and implants with him. Everything is good for now. Very busy doctor. Accurate and gentle at work. Speaks at least two languages , English and Russian. In fact, this is generally Russian speaking place.

I had an emergency. I was taken the same day. I was supposed to have my tooth out. Dr. Zats saved my tooth and a crown on it. Would recommend them to anyone. Would use this office again.

One of the worst experiences in my entire life! Avoid him at all costs. He inserted an implant at an angle, which caused two crowns to break. He never apologized for his mistake and blamed it on me.

He is very nice. If you have a appointment in the morning you don't wait long.
