He is the best back orthopedic Doctor in Texas from the Red River to South of Dallas all the way to Houston. Best bedside manners too. He is one of a kind. TU

Very pleased with visit. He was very efficient & knowledgeable. He took his time explaining & takes a conservative approach to answers. A very large office area with combined patients for associates.

I was very disappointed. The Dr looked at a previous MRI that I brought, by their suggestion. He barely looked at me and came in with his mind made up that my pain was a direct effect of my age, but not nerve pain. Although I filled the questionnaire out, he came across as if he cared nothing for me and told me to exercise. The wait after I arrived was a bit too long. But the experience with the technicians and doctor Was good.

Dr Giesler was great. Very friendly, answered all my questions and concerns. I feel very comfortable having him oversee my health issue.

Dr. Giesler is very knowledgeable, courteous, caring, and respectful of cultural differences. My mom is 79 and has been having some really bad, what she thought were back pains. Dr. Giesler was able to identify her very advanced Hip Degenerative disease, as the main source of her discomfort. He then placed an appropriate referral for her to see a hip specialist. He was very patient with my mom, and understanding about her needs. Thank you Dr. Giesler! I highly recommend this physician! Wouldn’t give a quarter star

The MRI was great! My technician was polite and helped me be comfortable getting on the table due to the fact that I was in severe pain. The procedure went quickly. If I had some stronger pain medication I would have been more relaxed and more still.

He didn't seem to care much about what I had to say. Hand me bend this way and that and sent me away with a VERY generic diagnosis and PT with their associated PT upstairs. Hes definitely about making the company money rather than patient care. Sout second opinion and got completely different results. If I would have followed Dr. Gieslers recommendation I would be far worse off.

I am extremely pleased with the lumbar back surgery that Dr. Giesler performed. Dr. Giesler is very thorough and he had explained everything before and after the surgery. The pain running down my legs is gone. Can’t argue with good results.

Awful. I brought in copies of my MRI and X-Ray and I don't think he even looked at them. He walked in and took one look at me, saw I was a little overweight and that was that. He told me I was in so much pain because I was overweight and needed to exercise. Then he handed me a pamphlet on exercises and that was the end of the appointment. I have never been so angry and humiliated in all my life!

Worse Dr. I have ever seen. Do not go here. Please choose a different Dr. He told me I was in pain because I was overweight and needed to exercise more and quit smoking. I understand that contributes to my back pain, but that none of that is going to help me be able to work tomorrow. He said if it gets bad enough for injections to come back and see him. If it wasn't bad enough for injections I would not have been there in the first place. Terrible bed side manner and his medical staff was just as terrible. The front desk made scheduling mistakes which was extremely inconvenient, but more importantly they were rude about it and blamed me. Rude, arrogant office. Worst doctor I ever met. His ego outweighs his desire to help patients. He told me that my pains are normal for a man my age and that I needed to walk at least 3 miles a day (I already walk 5 miles a day and exercise at the gym 3 times a week). Had he left his ego at the door and listened, he would have known that the reason I was referred was because an old injury to my ilium was flaring up and at times the pain was causing me to pass out which had resulted in me falling down stairs on 3 separate occasions (the injury was bad enough when it happened years ago that two doctors had recommended plates be put in my back). As others have mentioned, he is too quick to indicate the patient is not experiencing anything out of the ordinary without really taking the time to talk with the patient in detail. I broke my neck in January and Dr. Giesler took very good care of me!!

Fixed my herniated disk about 10 or 12 years ago. I felt great the next day, no pain at all.

In January 1999, Dr Geisler performed spinal surgery on me. For months, I spent all my time on the living room floor. Even eating there. Laying in bed was too painful. The most awesome memory that I have is that just before anesthesia put me to sleep. Dr. Geisler came to me on the gurney. He asked if I wanted to pray with him? Dr Geisler asked for only one thing. I am not so sure why there are negative reviews on here, but I guess things happen -- and I am not entirely sure it is the surgeon's fault. I had surgery by Dr. Giesler this past Friday, and I have nothing but great things to say! I had an ACDF on two levels, and have had minimal pain! Best of all, I can tell a big difference in my arm movement and fine motor skills (they were both affected by the nerve impingement). The visit was awesome as always. I didn't wait long at all either in the waiting room or the exam room. My exam was thorough and Dr. Giesler was pleasant and informative.

Dr. Giesler was very personal and did a great job explaining what was causing the pain in my lower back. He laid out a step by step plan on how we would address the issue in my back.

Great doctor. He is trying everything to keep me from be operated on. Very refreshing he puts his patients first instead of his financial gain

Dr giesler is the worst, most unqualified doctor in practice. He treated me horribly! He has the worst reviews of all other doctors associated with orthopedic associates in flower mound. Even with mri results, he referred me to physical therapy and a mental evaluation for exaggerated pain. Upon review from qualified ortho surgeons, they all agree my spine has critical injuries that physical therapy will not help, immediate surgery recommended. Physical therapist agreed with them.

Everything was good.. BUT THE SURGEON. Geisler never informed me that he never did a surgical procedure like mine. I have screws coming out , since 2 weeks after surgery. He got his money an I'm left In the cold. He refuses to fix HIS MISTAKES UNLESS HE'S PAID.... UM NOOO.

ARROGANT! I can tolerate an arrogant doctor as long as they know what they are talking about. Dr. Gielser is not well informed of recent advancements in the treatment of degenerative disc diseases. If your issue is obvious and treatment typical he can probably handle it. The radiologist noted, among other issues, a Schmorl's Node (SN) on my MRI. Although most SN are asymptomatic, there have been MANY studies to support the validity of symptomatic SN and the chronic pain that they cause. There are TONS of studies that have proven various ways to treat symptomatic SN. Dr. Giesler said that my MRI was normal! I asked about the SN causing my pain and he said that my thinking was flawed! He said it was simply normal wear and tear. I am now in the care of a more informed doctor and feel much better after only 1 treatment! ARROGANT! I saw the reviews prior to seeing Geisler and having a business of my own thought there are always disgruntled clients. However, having seen him myself, along with my wife, my feelings fall in line with others who have complained. He has no bedside manner, he's all business. If you are going to let him operate, all is good. In my case I decided to go for injections, and to be fair, he offered that option. In my wife's case, a bit different. She suffered catastrophic injuries when she was thrown from a horse. She was hospitalized for over two months which one month was in ICU, she almost died three times. She suffered a four broken vertebrae and had to have emergency surgery and have two 12 inch rods inserted in her back. She can only be upright for twelve minutes before having to sit. When we met Dr Geisler he had complete records of her injuries. My wife called his office recently and asked if he would fill out a form for disability parking and he refused. She had one from California but it was expiring. It doesn't appear he had the time to review her records and just said no. Needless to say, we will be seeking another orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Giesler recently did surgery on my husbands back and our experience from start to finish was excellent. He explained everything, answered all our questions, was very caring and made us feel very confident in having the surgery done, even said a quick prayer before surgery. Everyone on his staff was amazing and had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Giesler. I think that says alot. My husband has now went from tremendous pain to no pain. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would. Office is great, staff is wonderful. I herniated a disc and had an MRI on Monday, I had surgery with Dr. Giesler on Friday! He's great at explaining what is going on and is not pushy at all. He steers clear of surgery if he can and tries to stay conservative, but if you do need surgery he will tell you and you're in the best of hands with him! Dr. Giesler provided me with excellent care, to include surgery. He was warm, kind, and thorough. I would definitely recommend him.

Ditto to arrogant! Unless your issue is obvious, he won't be able to find a solution. The radiologist noted a Schmorl's Node (SN) on my MRI. I use Dr Giesler for my orthopedic problems from my neck to my shoulder and wrist, even though he specializes in spine problems. I find he is excellent in these other areas also. He has a warm bedisde manner and is a very careful conservative doctor. I highly recommend him based on my experience with him as a patient.

I will definitely be recommending Dr. Giesler to my friends and family! He is a great doctor who is very thorough in explaining what is going on with your spine or injury. I had a large herniated disc and couldn't hardly walk. I had the MRI Monday, got into see him on Thursday and he got me into surgery on Friday! I came home pain free! I am so glad I was referred to him and I will definitely be referring others his way! Great staff, great office and great surgery center as well!

Let me start off by saying that Dr. Giesler is extremely condescending and arrogant. After a back injury I was left with extreme pain, weakness in my right leg, and a somewhat form of paralysis in my right leg. This pain and weakness lasted for two months. My primary referred me to him to get a steroid shot in my L4 L5 disk to bring down the inflammation around my thecal sac. Firstly, it took an extremely long time to even get an appointment. Once I finally did, he belittled my injury. He had a preconceived notion, because I was 19, that I was exaggerating. He told me I essentially had " teenage back pain". After this encounter, I felt stupid and upset. Luckily, I saw two different neuroscientists, who both agreed that I needed the steroid shot, and that it was reasonable that I was in so much pain, and why I had semi paralysis in my leg. I will never go to Giesler again. I urge anybody that gets a referral for Giesler to not go unless you want arrogance and a pompous attitude instead of help for your injury or disease. Asked about PT and he didn't think it was relevant. Offered nothing!!!! My son ended up in the ER that night with a bulging disk. Totally misdiagnosed even with x rays!!! After speaking with a caring nurse for upwards of an hour, Mr.Arrogant showed up as if I was inconveniencing his day. He took one look at me (I'm 20) and disregarding my extreme amounts of pain. He performed a mere two exercises and came to the inaccurate conclusion that I was okay. He suggested SIX WEEKS of rest and if the issue didn't resolve itself to return. When I left his office I went to a chiropractor who discovered two herniated discs in my lower back. I was sent to an emergency room.

I saw Dr Giesler, for back pain. He prescribed phys. therapy which caused much leg and foot pain. I notified the Physical Therapist at each session that my pain was growing worse. After the therapy was completed, I met with Dr. Giesler. He apologized he missed diagnosing my foot as “drop foot”, and that I needed surgery immediately. I found a new surgeon who viewed the same MRI as Dr. Giesler, and confirmed the drop foot at once. Dr. Giesler caused me much pain and a loss to my quality of life.

Don't bother. Does not listen to the patient.

$287 for three x-rays and fewer than 5 minutes with an arrogant and terse doctor who had the warmth of an amphibian. Did not listen; it was an unzipping of memorized, canned remedies. I will seek another doctor most certainly. Told me to stop smoking, lose weight and exercise for back pain. Never read in the chart that I have never smoked a day in my life, work out 3 times a week with a personal trainer & have lost 17 lbs in the last 3 months. Not even worth mentioning; I just got out of there!
