It's unfortunate that Dr. Pugh is saddled with such an unprofessional front desk/ receptionist area. You can't get a live body on the phone, you have to leave a message and they will contact you within 24 to 48 hours. I finally got a computerized response 8 days later telling me to call and make an appointment. Three times since the new year, I've had to go to the ER because of no responses at a cost of $110.00 each. They send prescriptions not ordered or needed to the wrong pharmacy. Sorry Dr. Pugh, you're a good man and l respect you but my wife and I will be seeking another doctor.

I’ve had bad experiences before; as I’m sure we all have and I have NEVER written a bad review until now because I want to save everyone the time and heartache of relying on these people. Dr Pugh’s office used to be good but they are absolutely terrible now. We’ve been given inconsistent information from different staff members and they get upset at us for relying on the incorrect information that someone else on their team gave us! We waited days for referrals to be sent and after being patient we had to keep calling their office to get them to do something they told us was already done. On top of that, they got mad at us for calling multiple times when they didn’t do things correctly initially. Also, they are impossible to reach and extremely rude. We followed Dr Pugh’s and his assistant’s instructions but then someone on their team got mad at us for that! Seriously, his staff is unreliable and rude. Find another office. You’ll find somewhere better.

Don't go here, Absolutely terrible. Honestly I'm happy my father is still alive. He has been worthless since covid started. Please do not go here if you love someone in need of medical attention. If you are a patient of his now find a new doctor asap!!!

Dr. Pugh is a great doctor for me because we both agree that Healthy eating and Exercise are very effective for maintaining optimal health. Dr. Pugh supports my decision to avoid animal products, highly processed foods and soda. During his examination he carefully described everything he was doing so I felt comfortable. Thank you Dr. Pugh, you will see me again next year for my annual physical. Dr. Pugh is such an amazing Dr. He really listens & is patient!

Dr. Pugh is the best doctor ever! I have been going to him since 2012. Everyone there that works with him is nice and he sincerely cares about his patients. I hand out his name and number anytime I hear about someone needing a new doctor.

They take forever to do anything. If you need something done within a few days, forget it. My most recent was they took almost 2 weeks to send a referral over to an orthopedic.

I get it. Dr. Peugh is a little rough around the edges. He says it how it is but I have heard from two doctors that if they needed surgery he would be the surgeon they would use. Dr. Peugh is extremely aware. I went into Dr. Peugh with questions about my gallbladder. He noticed that my thyroid looked a little enlarged. He asked if he could feel it. After feeling it he suggested that I go have it looked at by a specialist. It turned out that I had thyroid cancer. I am so grateful to Dr. Pugh. If you’re looking to get surgery I would give him a chance. Most surgeons don’t have the best bed side manner. It’s just the price that comes with being intelligent. I get it. I have been going to Dr. Pugh for about 5 years. He is great, I always feel like he listens to me and lets me ask questions. He is patient and he is always professional. I feel like he really cares and spends a good amount of time with me. His assistants are always nice as well. So glad I found him.

Dr Pugh has been my doctor for 10 years. My experiences during that time have all been positive. He listens to concerns and is thorough and efficient. I trust him because my experiences with him have shown him to be exceptionally knowledgeable and observant. He is excellent at finding the problem and determining a solution. Dr pugh has excellent bedside care/customer service. I am not a huge fan of the front desk services.

Not that I ever come to the doctor often, but when i do! Dr. Pugh is always on time. Quick and straight to the point.

My husband hasn't even left the office and he's texting me how dirty the office is and kids running around. He said the nurse had to take his blood pressure 3 times to get a normal reading. This was his first visit. Now i see a lot of bad reviews on the staff and I wonder why they haven't done anything to improve that. Now basically they did nothing for him and they didn't tell him to fast beforehand so they wouldnt draw his blood which is why we scheduled the appr. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Pugh’s for over ten years and he is a good doctor. However, his staff and office manager is a nightmare. Be warned!!! I had a visit with Dr. Pugh and he wanted me to do some tests that needed a referral and a preauthorization with the insurance company before the tests we’re able to be done. The visit was in March 2021 and it is now June 21st and they still haven’t figured out how to get it preauthorized. They blamed the insurance company then office they were referring me to for the testing. After contacting both of them myself I found out that they had not submitted a preauthorization to the insurance company. It is done electronically through a secured link. So after 4 months of them messing around I asked if I could have them do a three way call with me to the insurance company to get it taken care of they refused. So I made the call myself to the insurance and I literally was able to talk to the person for preauthorization within 10 mins of calling. So it was clear that Pugh’s office had no intentions of getting preauthorized. They also called the specialist that the referral was to and harassed them asking to talk to the office manager at the referred specialist, because they wouldn’t do Pughs’s office staffs job of getting the preauthorization and wanted the specialist to do it. Well the referring doctor always is required to do that. So I made a call to the office staff at the specialist and had to apologize for Pugh’s staffs unprofessional behavior. I also talk with Pugh’s office manager and she was rude and blamed the specialist and the insurance company for not having the preauthorization after 4 months. Needless to say I had a few words for them about lying to me as a patient and to the specialists office. She was rude and had zero apologies for her rude behavior and dropping the ball. She then asks if I would like to talk to doctor Pugh. I respond yes. She tells me “ make an appointment to talk to him” so for me to speak with the doctor I need to make an appointment to tell him that his office staff can’t do their jobs. And blames everyone else for their incompetence. She responded “Yes”. They wanted me and my insurance to pay for another office visit to talk about that. I told them no. I had to find a new primary care doctor because of this. Now I have to wait 2 more months to get an appointment again with the specialist. As the doctor has to do a referral and I go back on the waiting list for the specialist. Also I had an appointment already set up for the specialist I had to cancel the day of, because Pughs office didn’t bother to tell me they never got it preauthorized. It cost me money as I was required to do testing before I was seen by the specialist. Now I have to redo those and pay for them again. They never did apologize not once. Dr. Pugh is a great primary care doctor. He listens, helps make a plan with you, and really tries to understand.

I feel that Dr Pugh really cares about my health and trying to keep me healthy. He asked questions concerning my health how I feel etc and as always open to my questions. The staff are always helpful and very friendly and take care of my needs also.

Dr Pugh is thorough every time we come to see him. He has a cheerful bedside manner and doesn't stop until he has helped you find the answers. We drive 3 hours to see him because we haven't found another doctor who really listens and isn’t judgmental.

Dr. Pugh has been my doctor for 14 years. He is absolutely Amazing! He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to address all of my concerns and gives great explanations. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I have continued to go to Dr. Pugh even when I have moved to other cities because I trust him so much!

He does not make the visit feel rushed, he seems to listen (which is important to good patient care), and I feel he is up to date with best standard of practice. I highly recommend him as a primary care doctor. As with many clinics, I think there is room for improvement when it comes to communicating with the back area staff. Dr Pugh is amazing. He always takes time to explain things. He informs you of the options and let’s you take the lead in your care. I can tell he is invested in my health. I have recommended him to others and will continue to do so.

One of 2 of my PCP's that listens to me and not just give help based upon everybody else. I am not like everybody else (Thank "God"). Brenten treats me as a knowledgeable person, even though I am just a old (69 year old) convenience store cashier.

Unprofessional front office staff and medical assistance

I've always loved their doctor's but today, on the edge of a mental breakdown and barely getting there as it was, they turned me away and told me I needed to reschedule. I've been sitting in the parking lot unable to move and not trusting myself. But they were okay to turn me away even though the front lobby was EMPTY

Nurse Practitioner Cheryl is terrible. The front desk is terrible. I have been fighting with them to get my short term disability paperwork done and they have not done it. I went to see Dr. Pugh from his friends referral. I was having anxiety attacks from chemicals in our companies uniforms. First thing he wanted to do is to put me on a heavy drug for anxiety. I told the nurse that I wasn’t going to be put on any heavy medication and that I was going to see an all natural doctor. I then ask if Dr. Pugh could please pull my Short Term Disability through for just a week. The nurse said he wants to see you. I said but I just saw him. Again he wants to see you, again I said he just saw me. Why should I spend money when he knows exactly what is wrong? To put me on another drug? I don’t think so! I was rushed in rushed out. Dr Pugh is the best doctor I have EVER gone to! He has helped me more in the last year than ANY dr has helped me in 17 years. I suffer from severe chronic pain and I am almost 100% sure he has figured out what several Dr’s should have figured out over a decade ago. He’s super smart & pretty understanding. They are courteous, patient, and respectful

Dr Pugh is the nicest guy and is extremely smart. I have seen him a handful of times and I've never had a bad appointment.

At first we really liked him But the last 2 years he was very rushed He doesn’t want to take time to answer questions and he just seemed like he didn’t care! My husband came to him because he was having pain in his toe and all he did was do a blood test. results came back normal and he literally didn’t do a thing!You would think he would care enough to do a X-ray or even Referred him to someone that cares. Well last week we found out his toe has been broken for a long time and needs surgery.

Overall I have had good experiences at this office. Brent Pugh is a really smart man and I have always felt comfortable with him as my primary health care provider. He is very kind and well educated.

My son has been seeing Dr. Pugh since I was transferred here in 2005. My son won't go to anyone else NO MATTER WHAT. His staff and PAs are the BEST. Thank you for being so great.

The best Dr we have ever had. I could not get my husband to go the Dr until he met Mr Pugh, he no longer dreads it. We all trust him very much!

I have been seeing Dr. Pugh for about 5 years now and really don't have any complaints. I have never had a problem getting an appointment, even when needed fairly urgently. I don't remember ever waiting more than 10-15 minutes to see him once there, and he is friendly, listens to my concerns, and has great explanations. He also doesn't just prescribe something just to make you happy. He makes sure you actually need it.

My husband was having abdominal pain for a year. After multiple tests looking at his gallbladder all coming back negative the doctor STILL wanted to remove it. We kept asking for tests to look at his appendix, but we kept getting denyed. A few months later, my husband's appendix burst. Sending him to emergency surgery. The surgeon said the appendix was inflamed and larger than normal. The pain my husband went through for a YR was the appendix flaring up and down.

Very friendly and professional, but also extremely rushed. Didn't spend much time with me, and didn't ask about any questions or concerns I had.
