An absolutely wonderful surgeon! So very attentive and his staff is phenomenal as well. Julia in particular. Coordination with my cardiologist after surgery was a nightmare, but Julia and the rest of the staff here went above and beyond at every speed bump. I can not recommend this surgeon and his staff enough. Dr. Ganzel saved my life, his staff is wonderful, and I feel better at 5 weeks post surgery than I have in months. Thanks you guys!!

Emergent visit to UL ER. Dr. Ganzel happened to be on call. He reviewed my heart cath and came to speak with my wife and I in my room. Two weeks later I had a triple cabbage and was home in three days. That was 6 years ago. My cardiologist at the time said, “He has the hands of an Angel”. He saved my life!

Dr. Ganzel is the man that held my heart.

This review is actually for the receptionist and I wish I had her name. Called to discuss thoracic surgery and she was absolutely rude, unhelpful and unapologetic. I am beside myself that that she could be so nasty.

Saved my dads life with a quadruple bypass. He’s absolutely amazing, idk what else to say.

I am so thankful for Dr Ganzel and the staff at UofL Hospital. I suffered an aortic dissection in late November. Went to our local hospital where they found the problem. Was immediately life flighted to Louisville where I underwent a six hour procedure with a 1 in 4 chance of survival. From what I hear from family, Dr Ganzel and the hos[ital staff kept family informed constantly. This man didn't just perform surgery, he saved my life. Without him I wouldn't be here. I thank God for him.
