Dr. Brian R Long

Dr. Brian Long has been my cardiologist since about 2014. He has always taken the time to answer my questions and concerns. In 2017 I had cabg x4. He has seen me through it all. In 2018 I moved to Ky and haven’t seen him until today. I have been experiencing problems in 2022-2023. I drove back 3 hours to see him. He acted like we were old friends, and he has already come up with a treatment plan for me. Even when the local doctors I tried to use didn’t have any answers. Even after a stress test, heart cath, and an echocardiogram. I will drive 3 hrs to continue being his patient. Great doctor.

The worst cardiologist I’ve ever encountered and I’ve encountered some bad ones. Horrible bedside manner & incredibly dismissive. Also told about doctor I had that I was never diagnosed with POTS when I was & suffer from it all the time. He rushes you out the room like there’s no tomorrow , rudely interrupts you - is on a power trip. Reviews don’t lie and I’m not the only one on him. Find someone else

If you’re looking for a cardiologist that will spend 5 minutes with you tops, not allow you to finish your sentences or get your concerns out, he’s your guy! Funny how so many Vanderbilt doctors have great reviews when you look at it straight through Vanderbilts website but if you dig into other websites, you’ll find the real truth about many of them. Another one bites the dust. He’s one of many Vanderbilt doctors I’ll never see again. I have a couple Vanderbilt doctors that are great but it’s a shame given Vanderbilt’s reputation of being the “best in the South” supposedly the amount of doctors that should have taken on a different profession. If you can’t hear and talk to your patients patiently and put their minds at ease and not just “assume”, what are you even doing? Literally like a cold fish - NO bedside manner whatsoever. Same with my Vanderbilt electrophysiologist. When you have to convince someone you’re not feeling well, it’s time to get a second opinion even if that second opinion is out of state. You know your body better than anyone else. He ordered me a stress test which was super nice of him ???? - only had to take me going to the ER with elevated troponin for him to do that because in my first appt, he wasn’t prepared or willing to do jack because of my testing I had years prior. I love when doctors bring that up “oh your test was normal two years ago” yeahhh well let’s talk about NOW and why I’m here today, not two years ago or even 1 year ago. I could barely ask questions about the test or ask about an echo before he was walking out of the room but I opted not even to get it because I don’t feel like communicating with him about the results. If you’re having heart concerns and don’t want to feel unheard, go to St. Thomas. They rank higher with heart care in the Nashville area anyway. Great Dr ! I have issues with skylines prices but no issue with their great staff.. Except for billing lol. Dr, Long is great doctor with a great future Im sure. Havent been to see him in over a year and I wish my pcp,s were as good.

My first visit with Dr. Long was in the ER at Skyline Hospital. He was the cardiologist on call when I had a heart attack in April 2017. He was thorough and efficient, while at the same time being caring and compassionate. That night he performed an emergency angioplasty with stent placement, and two weeks later placed two more stents in my heart. I was, of course, terrified, but he was able to put me at ease by thoroughly explaining the procedure and expected outcome.

I have found Dr Long to be a very straight forward doctor. Timely diagnosis and care follow up. Easy to schedule and responsive to inquiries.

Dr. Brian Long and his team absolutely saved my life after a heart attack I suffered in 2014. Since that episode, Dr. Long has continued to take proactive treatment to avoid other cardiac episodes. Dr. Long always fully explains his treatment recommendations and offers as much time at each visit to make me feel comfortable regarding my cardiac care.

I am new to the area and have been to other cardiologists but I feel that Dr. Long was the most reasonable and explained all aspects of my situation. I would highly recommend Dr. Long and his office.

Dr. Long is terrific. He listens to my concerns, takes time for my questions, and is very competent. I am so glad I found him, and will know I am in good hands if I need a procedure. Highly recommend!

Dr. Long is a very good doctor. He listen to any concerns that you may have and if he has concerns that he can not take care of he knows what dr to send you to to get the answer and he does not make you feel nervous about going to another doctor.

I would recommend Dr. Long to any friend or family. He seems to have a heart of gold and tries to put you at ease. He does not rush you through the appointment and tries to answer all your questions and concerns very honestly.

If you are looking for a heart specialist that is more interested in your heart health than increasing his firms bottom line, then Dr. Long is the doctor for you. He takes a holistic approach to what not only improves your heart health, but what improves your overall health. He listens to your concerns completely and addresses each with honest, easy understand answers.

My experience with Dr. Long has been very positive from day one. The first day I met him he was very upbeat and easy to get along with. He is always making sure that I am comfortable and answers my questions and taking my medicines when I should. I feel that I am Blessed to have him as my cardiologist.

I have not personally met Dr. Young, but my son has visited him on several occasions and speaks very highly of Dr. Long. I have talked to his staff over the phone and they have were more responsive, helpful and courteous than encounters with other physician's staff!

Dr Long was very knowledgeable & very friendly. We would recommend him to anyone. The staff was excellent also.

This was my first visit to see Dr. Long. I was impressed how quickly they contacted me for my appointment. I was referred by my PC. I just wanted to say that Dr. Long and his staff were very friendly, helpful and explained everything to me so that I could easily understand it. He listened to my concerns, ordered the needed tests to be performed. The waiting area was clean and very nice and comfortable. I am very satisfied and highly recommend his office to anyone needing his help.
