Dr. Bruce Steven Chozick

He helped me with the TIFL Procedure. Now I'm virtually pain free after many years of suffering. Thank you so much.

When I was 44 yo, Dr. Chozick performed a fourteen hour operation to remove a benign frontal meningioma. That was 1996 at St Peters in Albany. I am now an engineer, he did a great job.

My husband had back surgery in 2017 by another doctor. That dr wanted to remove all the work he did,replace it all and go in thru the front. My husband went to see Dr. Chozick. He told my husband that he didn't need to remove the work the other dr did the screws and everything else was still in good shape. Dr Chozick went through the front only. My husband back is not perfect but it is way better. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Chozick BEST BEDSIDE MANNERS. SO KIND AND CARING. I recommend him . Avoid going to him as much as you can. He is in it only for the money and not what is in the best interests of you. He has done my surgery and others in my family due to recommendations and has not seen us sense surgery. His PA has seen us 2 times sense and we have had multiple issues sense and all we keep getting is everything is fine for an answer. Our symptoms are to a point where we are worse than what we were before we had the surgery. Save your time and find a reputable surgeon other than him, I did. To find out that everything Chozick suggested didnt need to be done infact it was opposite. Avoid going to him as much as you can. Highly recommended dr.Chosik and dr.Michelle GREAT staff, friendly environment , very attentive to their patients. IT feels like home!

I highly recommend Dr. Chozick. He is thorough, takes time to listen and to explain, gives options and is caring and compassionate.

I love Dr chozick he the Best Neurosurgeon that did my 2nd lower back surgery and i been fine but when u have arthritis thats gonna be for life but i love this doctor and Mitchell is. A nice PA

I've had three spinal stenosis operations by Dr Chozick and have the utmost confidence is his ability as a surgeon. He recommended P.T. prior to the surgeries as an alternative , and spent all the time I needed to understand what the issues were, and how long it would take to heal. Given the multiple issues I had with stenosis, I was confident I chose Dr. Chozick after interviewing other surgeons. Excellent. Dr. Chozik unlike other doctors is always easily accessible, very patient, compassionate, and skilled diagnostician. He takes all the time needed with patient, thoroughly discusses options and does not recommend surgery unless absolutely necessary, where other neurosurgeons don't seem to be interested unless they can do surgery. I highly recommend both Dr. Chozik and his staff, Michelle PA, Kathy MA, and Diane administrator who are always helpful and efficient.

I had spinal surgery by Dr. Chozick and it’s left me in worse shape then before. He told me I was completely fine and I needed to wait the year to heal. Other surgeons told me the complete opposite and are baffled at what was actually performed. I now need a second surgery to repair the mess he made. I am horrified by all of this, and it’s debilitating physically and mentally. Don’t make the same mistake.

I had back surgery performed by Dr Chozick for a herniated disk with excellent results. Prior to surgery he reviewed my MRI with me and explained exactly what he was going to do. I felt very confident and safe in his care. His bedside manner and compassion is beyond amazing— I had an excellent experience with Dr Chozick , Michelle, and their entire staff. I highly recommend this office for any neurosurgical problems.

I've had three spinal stenosis surgeries with Dr Chozick over the past seven years. I felt very comfortable with his suggestions and he spent as much time as I needed to understand my post surgical requirements. He's a compassionate person who offered alternate non surgical suggestions prior to qualifying for surgery.

Worst dr. I ever went to. He performed 6 surgeries on my lower back. I believe 3 or 4 of them were unnecessary. My last surgery 5 years ago left me with legs numb below the knee including my feet. His aftercare was nonexistent. All he did was over prescribe narcotics. If you care about your quality of life stay far away from Bruce Chozik.

Office vibes suck. Paper work still waiting after 3 months. Always tried to find an excuse and can never call back. Will find a new Nero doctor I'm willing to travel. Never see him only PAs will only come around if you are on deaths door step.

He promised me I would be pain free when I woke up from a spinal fusion, what a load of bs that turned out to be. I'm crippled after the surgery and he washed his hands of me was his direct quote. I have made multiple attempts to talk to him,not blaming him for a botched surgery but just to say it didn't take and I can barely walk. It just totally sucks that he wouldn't further help me. He's a liar and out for MONEY. Never had me try physical therapy or injections or anything. Butcher me was the first option...he's no one I'd ever recommend to ANYONE. He comes off as the nicest dr. Was told by Dr Chozick that it would be instantaneous relief double fusion on c4 -c5 c5 c6. 18 sessions of pt and I am worse now then before even went and got my right shoulder x-rayed to find it was not my shoulder it is above and below the fusion I had done. More pain now then before the surgery tried to set up second opinion with Issac Moss was told I hhha go outside of UConn to get second opinion because they work together. That is after setting up two appointments and Dr Moss office cancelled both don't get surgery get second opinion first Was told by Dr Chozick that it would be instantaneous relief double fusion on c4 -c5 c5 c6. 18 sessions of pt and I am worse now then before even went and got my right shoulder x-rayed to find it was not my shoulder it is above and below … More

Dr Chozick did my surgery in 2003.His bedside manner was awesome compassion was off the chart.You could not ask for a finer Dr than Bruce Chozick.He is the best.

I was on crutches. Bruce repaired my bulging lumbar disk. I walked with no pain immediately after surgery and have been fine for years since.

Bruce performed a microdiscectomy on me in 2001. I was in major pain the months before. It was like a miracle. in 5 days after the surgery I was working in the yard (a little). 10 years later I had similar but not as severe symptoms again in 2011. I brought him my MRI and he said to go to physical therapy. My back now is better than it has been since I was 20 and I am 52 now. He was one of the nicest, down-to-earth Dr's I have ever dealt with and a straight shooter. I would highly recommend him. Bruce performed a microdiscectomy on me in 2001. Dr. Chozick performed by brain surgery along Dr. Afshani. Both doctors are excellent. I continued seeing Dr. Chozick for aftercare. He is a good and thorough doctor. At firs the staff were pleasant. Recently, they have been rude, unhelpful and unfriendly. I would prefer not to continue my aftercare here not because of Dr. Chozick, because he is excellent, but the rudeness of the staff is getting to be.

I was fortunate to find Dr. Chozick to repair my back and neck. Had I not had the surgery on my back at the time, I would be in a wheelchair today! While other Orthopedic doctors wanted to repair my back with a 4 inch plate and 8 screws, which would have limited my motion. Dr. Chozick installed 2 pins in my back (L5) and my motion was not affected. He is awesome.

Terrible after care,basically crippled me after 2 surgeries,then when I was still not healed right 2years later he said there was nothing more he could do for me. Before the surgery his bedside manner was great,he reassured me everything would be great,I'm disabled at the age 37! My life has been a living hell since this botched surgeries! Be wary!

Dr. Chozick is not only an incredible Neurosurgeon, but truly a sweet and caring man. We have had so many friends and family members referred to Dr. Chozick, I've lost count. The results from my spinal fusion are great, but as important Dr Chozick truly cares about his patients. He takes the time to walk you through exactly what is happening with your condition and what the treatment options are. Can't say enough about Dr Chozick, he is truly a Godsend to our family.

Nothing but the best from this doctor. He is king knowledgeable and has empathy on your condition and the red tape that follows with workers comp and disabilities. He explains things in layman terms. he does not have that ego that comes with other doctors. I have had 2 surgeries and will be having a third soon. I respect and trust this man 200%. Diane also is kind and very helpful and is the behind the scenes keeping in running smooth. And Michelle is also is right hand and is great.

This Dr is the definition of a god like Dr. I had him do two spinal surgeries and after each i was 95% better when healed. He will take his tim with you and explain your options and then guide you through it all. I drive a hour to go to him and worth it anyday. Best part of all is he Treats you like a equal not like most dr do I strongly believe that he can help anybody who needs his specialities look him up and you wont be sorry. He is also the hospital nero for emergency operations.

Great bedside manner. Explained everything in detail. I stills confidence. Surgery went well and expect full recovery.
