About Bruce S Stein
Reviews for Bruce S Stein
Dr. Stein doesn’t listen to me at all. I’ve been seeing him for years and my RA is getting worse instead of getting better. He keeps saying take Tylenol or Motrin along with RA med and says it’s probably osteoarthritis that causing me the most pain. I called to explain I had bad pain in my jaw and he told me to see a dentist. I keep telling him the RA meds he last prescribed are not working and he keeps saying to stay on it. It’s been 9 months already and I’m in a lot f pain. He calls in prescriptions incorrectly or not at all. If you need a letter for work he makes it seem like it’s a problem and you have to wait a long time for it. His office staff can be rude and nasty as well. I need a new rheumatologist who listens to me and addresses my concerns as a doctor should and who wants me to feel better not worse. Dr. Stein doesn’t listen to me at all. I was happy with this Dr until a week ago. I had even given up one of the best rheumatologists in NY. I had an appointment for an IV infusion and because of the pandemic, no patients allowed inside the office. I was aware of this but I was under the impression that I could get my infusion in a room alone like before. I have been having really bad anxiety lately and had been accommodated last month and in the past. However, things had changed in the office, no more alone infusions. Mind you I still do not believe the office is big enough for six feet apart! Well after being told I would be able to get infusion alone, one hour and a half later they told me the rules had changed. This being after they let me stand on the sidewalk, because I take access a ride and had no car to sit in, that I could not be alone. They had already serviced the 2 people who were ahead of me and the four people who came after me. Meanwhile I was ok with waiting because I was under the impression I was waiting on someone to finish a four hour infusion, which I was told upon arrival. By this time I was angry and was not trying to stay. Through all of this Dr Stein was not in this day, he had a coverage. Monday went past, it is now Tuesday, around noon and still no call. I finally reached out to Jeanmarie the scheduler and person in charge of infusions, to no surprise she handled it as I expected, especially after the way things were handled on Saturday. I have come to the conclusion that I was disrespected, there is a lack of communication and a lack sensitivity training amongst the staff. She was rude and raised her voice, also stated to me, "I heard what happened on Saturday!" When I asked why no one has reached out to me to see if I wanted to reschedule treatment or even to ask me what happened and why I did not receive treatment? This treatment costs my insurance company approximately $10,000 annually. Mind you, no one knew that I had plans on changing my Dr.. Her response got a little intense and she said, "Well it happened already, what do you want me to do, we are closed on Monday's and it is just Tuesday morning, the phones are crazy and I have been busy!", the tone she used with me was unacceptable. I had a conversation outside with a patient who came and saw me still waiting, she expressed the unprofessional demeanor of Jeanmarie. I had never experienced that side of her until I called to explain what happened me. I felt like once she heard, she should have reached out to me asap but she did not. Funny how they do not forget to call for treatment, to then spend all of 3minutes with the Dr after treatment. Well, if you are planning on going to this Dr because of convenience, here is some advice if you have a car, don't! Why go somewhere with stressors about your health to then turn around and deal with insensitive people in a place where you should feel some sense of peace. I am in pain and have to start all over because of the maltreatment I received on Saturday, July 11, 2020. PS: I would also like to state that the Dr suggested I get an epidural when I complained of hip pain for about five months. He told me it was because of my back so I listened. I did what he suggested and to no surprise it was not my back that is the issue, it is my hip and I got that injection for no reason. I should've listened to my own body and told them to investigate further. My mistake, but it will never happen again. Try looking up rheumatologist in Hempstead. I will not share her name because I just wanted to share my worst experience not be nasty! Somehow I am not a person of malice, just fairness and I was treated unfairly! This is the worse doctor that someone can have ever!. He don’t answer any of my questions since I get a new diagnosis two months ago!! And in the process I went to the hospital twice and he still without give me any answer!. Last time I tell him to give me a letter where said that I can work normally with the new medicine that I start taking so his answer was: I’m to busy to make letters!!!. so why you have staff if you’re to busy?? they suppose to help you with that and you only signed the letter.. I found a new rheumatology and she explain me everything without bad faces!.. good luck with this one This is the worse doctor that someone can have ever!. Dr. Stein is a caring and doctor with an incredible bed side manner. He will make sure you are taken care. Once you become a patient, he really looks after you
I had an appointment with my favorite Doctor today. Dr. Bruce, thank you for your patience and great "bedside manner". PS. I've decided to make you my PCP and will call my insurance carrier tomorrow. Again, thanks a bunch. Ms. Sharon Lewis

Excellent DR. PERIOD
The best, Dr. Bruce is meticulous in the exam. Spends a lot of time to get to the diagnosis. Hands down the best.
Dr. Stine has awesome "beside manners". What bedside manners mean to me is a Doctor who is kind, compassionate and gives you all the time you need to express how you feel. Not too many people love going to a Doctor who sticks you with needles but I just love the guy! Okay. He lightens up the pain with his humor, too. He always makes you feel like a friend while maintaining his oath and professionalism. Dr. Stine has awesome "beside manners". Dr Stein and his staff are so accommodating. I have been with him for years then moved away. When I finally returned to New York there was no hesitation once I found him listed in Queens. He's worth the trip. Very kind and caring group of people! If you need a Rheumatologist go for it. You won't be disappointed!
