Bryan T Kelly

Dr. Kelly operated on me as a 26 year old. After experiencing set backs, he brushed off my concerns and didn't take anything I said seriously. He has an extremely large ego and is extremely condescending. When I finally got second opinions demonstrating that I developed total arthritis in my hip due to Dr. Kelly's surgery, he became extremely defensive and then magically his medical notes changed to state that he informed me I had wear prior to surgery. This is contradicted by his own notes during surgery where he indicates no sign of cartilage wear. I have been pushed around from Dr. to Dr. at HSS since this injury and have been forced to spend over $100K out of pocket to try to fix the issues caused by Dr. Kelly. It's a travesty to our medical system that a man that only cares about his pocket is deemed a "leader" of this institution - that tells you just about everything you need to know about HSS - greed, greed and more greed. If you care about your health, stay far away.

Dr. Kelly is an immensely talented surgeon - I cannot recommend him enough. His staff is also attentive, responsive, and caring.

Terrible doctor and terrible surgery. Do not go to him under any circumstances. He is useless. His staff pretend to be nice to force you into unnecessary surgery that makes you significantly worse than you would be without having the operation. Terrible place. Go somewhere else.

I wrote a post below. I am just following up on my post as Dr. Kelly's office was quick to comment and say they care about these issues and provided an email to contact them. I want everyone to know this is a complete farce - they do this so they look good. They don't respond to the emails when you actually follow through and email them. But they want people reading the reviews to think they care. Don't be fooled - no one from their office has reached out to me - the last appointment I had left me walking out with them telling me there was nothing they could do, even though they caused the issues! Dr Kelly ruined my life as a 28 year old. He pushed me into unnecessary surgery and when I complained for over a year that I wasn’t feeling right after surgery he completely ignored me. I developed total arthritis because of the surgery he performed which required me to have another surgery leaving me in chronic pain. He ruined my life. Dr. Kelly was quick to diagnose and provided a completely unnecessary surgery on me as a 27 year old. He then completely ignored and dismissed me for years as I told him I was not getting better. After second opinions I developed total arthritis due to Dr. Kelly's surgery (he now likes to tell me I has arthritis prior to his surgery even though his notes say otherwise). I required a second surgery that has now left me in chronic pain. He doesn't care about you - he cares about money and his reputation. I would stay as far away from him as possible.

Dr Kelly and his staff are amazing. He takes the time to carefully explain everything that is going on, but also takes the time to listen to what the patient has to say. I have had amazing care. I had issues post op, and his team made sure to respond to me even on a holiday. Having a doctor who truly cares for their patients is very hard to find and Dr Kelly is the best. Dr. Kelly and his staff are absolutely amazing. Dr. Kelly truly cares about his patients and not only takes the time to explain everything f thoroughly, but he listens to make sure he knows exactly how the patient is feeling. His staff is very friendly, and very helpful. I had issues post op on a holiday and someone got back to me within 30 minutes. Could not have asked for a better experience or doctor!

Unfortunately Dr. Kelly was out of our insurance network, The reason for the 5 star review is because Gina, the woman who answered the phone, was extraordinarily helpful and patient in helping me determine other options. Given that, and Dr. Kelly's impeccable credentials, I am now even more bummed that he is not an option for addressing our issues! Bryan was amazing and in my opinion the best doctor in the universe I highly recommend going to this doctor if you want to be completely pain free

I'm an orthopaedic nurse, and was treated by Dr.. Kelly and team. Best professional EVER, and outstanding bedside manner, and he genuinely cares about his patients.

Great Doctor

Best doctor and staff I have ever dealt with.

Very nice environment, amazing staff especially physical therapy

From the first time i contacted Dr. Bryan Kelly’s office - I have been impressed with the him, his staff and everyone at HSS! I started experiencing hip issues roughly a year ago and progressively got worse while running or walking long distances. I had gone to a local Orthopedics office in Suffolk County - they ordered an X-ray and an MRI with dye that had to be injected into my hip joint. The results came back - torn labrum. I received a cortisone shot and was ordered to do 6-8 weeks of PT. If I did not find relief - the next step was to speak to their surgeon. While at PT I spoke to one of the therapists who has had torn labrum and eventually THR’s. She urged me to contact Dr. Kelly at HSS. I read up on him on the HSS website and I gave them a call. Protocol for his office is that they send you paperwork to complete with specific detail on what records they would like from you. The paperwork says to anticipate a call back a week after they receive and review paperwork. This saves everyone time - it ensures the doctor is the right one for you and your condition and saves someone like me the trip to NYC from eastern LI to go see him. I got a call within 5 hours saying he would see me and could get me in 2 days later! Dr. Kelly and his staff were great and very personable. Getting follow up appointments with him was super easy. On my first visit - I was sent for a CT Scan and the results showed that i had additional concerns with the hip - he asked me to finish out the 6 weeks of PT and to come back to see him. Upon my return we discussed my progress and and decided surgery would be the best route to help ease my pain. I had FAI and labral tear repair surgery yesterday at HSS and have felt great since the procedure and already started PT. Dr. Kelly and his staff answered all of my questions and eased my stresses! They provided all the post op detail I needed prior to the procedure - called me the next day to check in and have just been amazing. I am looking forward to returning to my full level of function and then some in a few months. If you have any hip concerns - I highly recommend Dr. Kelly. He is the Chief of Sports Medicine and has treated a variety of athletes and entertainers - as well as civilians! I was told by several people “If anyone is going to treat me for hip issues - I want it to be Dr. Kelly! Looking forward to healing up and getting back to normal - thanks to Doctor Kelly and staff! After dealing with a nightmare experience in another state including two unnecessary surgeries and a year and a half of unrelenting pain, I found Dr. Kelly. After reviewing my records, his staff scheduled an appt within 3 weeks. Everyone in his office was amazing; kind, professional, and competent. Dr. Kelly identified my issue and had an immediate plan of action that did not involve jumping right into surgery. They were even willing to squeeze me in the SAME DAY for a procedure that could provide me with some relief. I cannot stress enough how amazing my experience was there. I literally cried with joy and over the fact that I finally had validation for my pain and that there was hope. I'm flying back there as soon as possible. I'm even looking into selling my house and moving there. Terribly disappointing experience. Scheduling an appointment is like breaking into Fort Knox. Then when you're finally in, accepted as a patient, and diligently follow orders for tests, treatments and diagnostics, you're thrown to the curb when a complication arises. He failed to stand behind the very referral he provided, which caused devastating injuries. His loyalty to his peers and not to his patients. Very clear that his reputation is greater than his interest in helping patients in need.

After a nightmare experience in another state with other doctors who performed two unnecessary surgeries, I found Dr. Kelly. After sending in all my records, I had an appt within 3 weeks. Dr. Kelly identified the correct cause of my pain and had an immediate plan of action that did not involve jumping into surgery right away. Everyone in his office was so incredibly kind and professional. They were willing to fit me in the SAME DAY for a procedure so I could get some relief. I love them.

Dr. Kelly is more concerned with his statistics than trying to make his patients pain free. At first he was going to operate on my hip and than he backed out. I found another specialist at NYU who operated on me and now I am pain free.

Dr. Kelly operated on my hip 7 years ago and I am still completely pain free. He was very kind, very thorough and precise. The staff was amazing; all my questions were answered quickly and easily. I was running 3 months post-op and I have not stopped since.

Dr. Kelly is the real deal. We were told by another doctor that my husband needed surgery but Dr. Kelly explained how his specific injury should be healed through PT. I cannot express how grateful I am that we found an ethical competent doctor who truly cares. In that same consultation we met with an amazing PT who walked us through exercises to do at home.

Extremely professional surgeon, PA, staff, PT, Hospital, nursing staff. All 5 stars. Brought my son here for bilateral hip surgery and his care was outstanding. Would recommend Dr Kelly without reservation.
