Dr. Sears is fantastic!!
My son had an injury to his wrist. Even though we were out of town when it occurred, we knew that he needed to be at KOC for help. I had been a client years ago with a broken ankle, and I remembered how professional and patient they had been with me. My son received the care he needed and thoroughly understood what his part was in the healing process. Excellent care!

He’s great with my son we just love him very friendly and understanding..
Everyone was very nice and friendly with my 7 year old daughter and me. She was scared and worried it was going to hurt more. The xray technician made her feel safe and at ease. The doctor was amazing and everyone treater her excellent. I could tell the way they interacted with her that she felt comfortable and important. That is just as important to a father like me as the quality of care that is received. Thank you all for being the step above other physicians. Great doctors and staff, low wait time, overall a pleasant experience for a doctor appointment.
We saw Dr. Sears as a second opinion after a adult orthopedic doctor recommended surgery for my son. KOC got us in the very next day that I called and Dr. Sears immediately put us at ease! He was knowledgeable on pediatric bone recovery and reassured us that his injury would likely heal on its own. I’m so thankful we sought out this consultation! Our 7 yr old daughter was seen at a separate clinic initially and referred to this one for an injury they thought was related to growing pains. Her original appointment was for 2 weeks from her injury, but after a few days of her not getting better and in a lot of pain we felt as if something was wrong and called to ask if they could move up her appointment. They got her in the next morning and discovered she had an infection and needed to be hospitalized. They moved her to children's where the infection was quickly resolved. This could have turned into a deadly issue or caused permanent damage if they hadn't have given the care they provided. They explained everything in a way even she could understand and she felt well cared for by them. We thank you for taking such great care of our little girl. I was a patient of Dr. Sears 20 years ago when I had broken my leg at the age of 7 in a bicycle wreck. He was a great doctor. If your child needs an Orthopedic Surgeon, I definitely recommend him.
They absolutely wonderful. Make us feel very comfortable while we were waiting. Doctor was very specific and professional .Thank you so much.

Was not impressed. I am used to doctors that show you the x-rays (even print a paper copy take home) and give you the facts about said x-ray. I am used to them being thorough instead of rushed (even after being an hour late coming in the room after our scheduled appt time) I felt dismissed about concerns that I have for my son. I expect doctors to discuss findings with me and pro's and con's for treatments. Not impressed at all! We will be looking for a new othro doctor. Was not impressed. Everyone was so patient and kind. Great office.
Everyone was very friendly and very helpful to a new patient. Looking forward to the return visit!
Dr. Sears was very professional and nice. I trust him 100% with my child's care.
Dr. Sears and his staff were very professional and informative with us. Very efficient and quick in casting my sons legs.
We love Dr. Sears! He has always been so good to/with our son. Being a Boy Mom, we've had a few broken bones/injuries!! Boys will be boys!! ????♀️???? Thankful for y'all!
Dr. Cameron Sears is the doctor you fear your child will have: unsympathetic, unbothered, desensitized, and cruelly casual. My young son was treated by Dr. Sears for a fractured, angulated radius in his left forearm. After expressing concern over my 4 year-old's pain level, Dr. Sears cruelly remarked, "It's not like he needs a bullet to bite down on or anything." During this horrific casting procedure that manipulated my son's bent arm into a fully straight position, my son cried, gagged, and had a spontaneous bowel movement. When I later confronted Dr. Sears about his lack of concern for my scared son, he remarked,"Well, an apology at this point would only be shallow." Somewhere between marathon-running, bowtie-buying and filming commercials for East TN Children's Hospital, Dr. Cameron Sears lost the ability to comfort, treat, and empathize with the youngest and most innocent of patients. Please take it from a traumatized mother and run from this man!
One star is an over-rated gift. Dr. Cameron Sears has long lost the ability or desire to comfort, treat, and empathize with the youngest and most innocent of patients. After a horrific casting procedure that left my 4 year-old son gagging, crying, and having a spontaneous bowel movement, Dr. Sears cruelly remarked that an "apology from him would only sound shallow at this point." Dr. Cameron Sears is the doctor you fear your child will have: unbothered, unsympathetic, and desensitized. As a traumatized mother that mistakenly put her scared, injured young son in this physician's hands, run! Seek treatment for your children elsewhere.
I read reviews about Dr Sears, prior to going. People take these reviews seriously and don't waste time and money on physicians that doesn't care enough to review the information in their patient's chart. It truly makes me sad that the oath that physicians, years ago held sacred is no more than uttered words for a license anymore. "The Hippocratic Oath is one of the oldest binding documents in history, "treat the sick to the best of one's ability," My son has had elevated bilirubin for months (4, indirect 3.6 latest) he has had weight loss (5'6' 103lbs last primary care visit on Friday.) He is on bowling team and after his games or other physical activities, he runs fevers ranging from 99 to 101.3 has been highest so far.) My son is there to be evaluated about his osteochondroma and possible changes. Dr Sears says, "I have never seen one and never heard of one. Well, hardly ever heard of one." Then I mention his symptoms and his being jaundice of which he seems surprised about. At this point I am wondering if he read anything other than 'osteochondroma '. I brought a picture of the X-Ray that was given to me by the orthopedic that had seen my son in 2017, for reference. The nurse laid it on the counter for him to see of which, even though I mentioned it, he never once bothered to pick it up and look at it for comparison. He just handed it to me and said they don't need it as we were leaving. After, continuously expressing my concerns of his history and now current symptom, he agrees to ordering him an MRI. I told my husband about the visit and he went with me to the following one. Followup: When we arrived and went back in the room the nurse informed us that they had still not received the report and she would have to call and have it faxed over. So, she put us in a room across from the nurses desk. A short while later I heard him ask her, "did the fax came through?" She answered with, "I just checked and it was still not here." Another approximately 10 minutes later, she told him it was there. I heard him acknowledge her and in less than a minute he was in our room. He informs us that there was only slight growth. No other changes. I ask him if there was anything what so ever that could be related to my son's current symptoms and test i.e. high immature granulocytes, bilirubin low segmented neutrophils of which I offered evidence in the records I had with me but he said he didn't need them. Then my husband ask him abut the comparison to the 2017 xray picture, of which there is very visual shape and size changes that are clearly visible. His answer was, " What other image?" I told him I brought it in the last time we were there. He turns to my son and ask him if he would like to have it removed and my son said, "kinda." (I would never let him surgerically touch my son.) He finishes with there isn't much changes other than minor growth, leaves and his nurse comes in says were done call us if you need us again. On the way out I ask for a copy of the MRI report. The nurse provides me with a copy. I am shocked when I get in the car and read it. He had lied to me. Yes, the first sentence sort of said what he did but there were more changes than what he said. Now, I was pretty sure he never read the whole page and a half report as he clearly did not have time to read much more than the first paragraph or so. However, if he had, he just lied to my face. The report mentioned, small fluid in the cartilage cap and outside the tumor, mild bone marrow edema, and a lymph node in the left pelvic area 1.4cm x 1 cm. Short by one millimeter to be considered for investigation by radiologist. Yet he doesn't consider symptoms or bloodwork. (Mild BME and surrounding fluid is significant. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/BF02412359) Quote: "To rely on a radiographic measurement as the sole criterion for a particular treatment method is a frail approach to patient care." We got what we needed from the appointment. We needed to rule out orthopedic problems and we did. However, Dr. Sears telling me that “not every kid will be the fastest in the class” was actually insulting when I brought my son there because of pain and mobility limitation. Not speed. I could care less how fast he is. I do care that he experiences pain while walking. I do care that it limits him. While I’m confident Dr Sears is a great surgeon and if I ever need an athletic consult for one of my kids to solidify their NBA or NFL careers I will sure to use him...can’t say I will seek him out again for our real world every day needs. Update- four weeks later the kid that Dr. Sears said “not every kid will be the fastest in the class” is inpatient at Vanderbilt Children’a Hospital and can’t walk. Again- Dr. Sears ruled out the need for surgery but that comment keeps playing in my head as I push him around the hospital in a wheelchair. At this point we will be happy if he can walk with the rest of his class. We got what we needed from the appointment. We needed to rule out orthopedic problems and we did. My experience with Dr. Cameron Sears was that he is very unprofessional. His bedside manner if you will, is very poor and he speaks to the patient and the parent in a very demeaning way; as if we had no common knowledge of the human body or it's functions. He told us that my son's pains all over his body were "what your grandmother would call growing pains". I mentioned that my son was about to enter into a very dangerous sport racing cars and that I wanted to make sure he was clear before doing so. He said "If you are looking for a guarantee that your son is safe to do whatever it is that he does out there, I obsolve you. You are safe." I mentioned x-rays and he said we could do them if I REALLY wanted to. He then told us he was coming back, and not a minute later, he sent the CNA back with release papers. I told her that I had asked for x-rays on his back and hips, and this was clearly ignored, as he "obsolved us" of all worry. I also told the CNA that I was not pleased with our visit and that I felt as if he had rushed through it. She said she would send him back. He came back a few moments later only to try and talk us out of x-rays. Said it wasn't necessary and that if we were demanding them, he would oblige us. I said that WE DID want them and that I needed some peace of mind before putting him in the dangerous sport of racing, and in addition to that I needed something to take home and show his father. They did the x-rays, and my son asked the nurse that took him back if he could get a copy of them to take home. She said it was not a problem at all and that we just needed to request them from the nurse before we check out. After a little while longer, Dr Sears came back and said "Well just as I expected, everything is fine. You are clear to do whatever it is that you do out there on the track". I was baffled at this point at the way he was talking to my son and I and wanted to get our copies and get outta there. I then asked him if we could get the copies of the x-rays and that the nurse told us it wasn't a problem. I told him I wanted something to take home to show my husband, as he wasn't there to here what the outcome was. He then said "Well, I know Dad wasn't here to see that I know what I'm doing. All I can offer is a paper copy of the x-rays." I told him that was fine and that we would like to have them please. He then said, and I quote, "Ha! I don't see much point in taking the copies home. Unless Dad is a radiologist"? And my son answered with "No, but he is an RN". I will end this review with Dr Sears needs to learn how to talk to his patients and have a little common decency when it comes to discussing a child's issues. Parents have the right to be concerned, and to question the treatment given by the physician. And when said physician is questioned, they should bite their tongue and reply in a courteous manner, not with facetiousness. My experience with Dr. Cameron Sears was that he is very unprofessional. His bedside manner if you will, is very poor and he speaks to the patient and the parent in a very demeaning way; as if we had no common knowledge of the human body or … More
