Dr. Carl Erwin Pfanstiel

I have brought my kids here for 11 years. Dr. Phansteil is so knowledgeable and makes good informed decisions and his nurse Kim is amazing too!

I was a patient here as a kid, mostly saw Dr. Terry, occasionally saw Dr. Pfanstiel. Both were always very sweet; I always felt comfortable and dignified. Recently called to retrieve some old records, and front desk was beyond accomodating.

I love Dr Pfanstiel!! He is kind, professional, patient and doesn’t over medicate. He has been all my kids pediatrician, for 19 years and I would never change doctors.

The two star rating is only for the doctors zero star ratings for the front desk. I adore Dr Pfanstiel, he is such a sweet kind caring man but the lady at the front desk is very condescending and she shared personal information with somebody who I do not live with anymore.The information had nothing to do with my kids and only to do with myself but she had no problem telling him everything that I said to her that I had hoped would be in kept in confidence, also she completely twisted my words around She has caused more problems in my family which would not of happened if she would’ve just kept the information I told told her to herself. I believe Lauri is her name, and they need to get rid of her. She has by far the most negative comments I’ve ever seen of a receptionist and the fact that they still have her on their team is mind blowing to me. She speaks over you when you’re trying to talk and she had the audacity to say “when people don’t have enough respect for us to call and reschedule, we just don’t tolerate that” uh ma’am, you are the one who needs to learn some respect. Just a bitter old woman who you needs some manners taught to her. I have half a mind to sue the company simply for her spreading personal information that she could’ve easily kept her self. Excellent doctor.

I had an emergency and called the same date to cancel the appointment the next day they call me and said they will be dismissing all my children’s from their clinic and I would need to find another pediatrician that Dr. Pfanstiel said also front desk lady Lori was rude.

I was really looking forward to seeing Kimberly terry but since I was late I was told I would have to wait an hour and a half and only one of my kids can be seen! RIDICULOUS! I also was told I couldn’t reschedule or I’ll be dismissed so I just left! And lady at the front desk is a real character, I’ll pass????

I have bringing my son to see Dr. Pfanstiel and Dr Terry since he was born. He’s about to turn 9. I absolutely love them would recommend their care to ANYBODYS baby. The front desk lady is the sole reason for this one star review as BOTH Drs and nurses have been wonderful for nearly a decade. Typically when insurance changes they send you paperwork to fill out PRIOR to your appt. I let her know this while setting the appointment our insurance changed I did not have paper copy but would get one if needed. No big deal. Didn’t need it. When I sign my kid in I just felt like she was yelling for not having my insurance card (I have a photo of it on my phone) mind you the office offices with other drs and the waiting room is where you sign in. I told her I’d be happy to fill out the paperwork or hand her the phone with my insurance info as I feel insurance is personal information why the heck would I want to answer those questions out loud with people standing behind me.. even if it isn’t useful info for a stranger it just isn’t appropriate for the setting. I told her I’d fill it out and she threw post-it stack at me. I asked twice what info she needed from the card and twice she told me the exact info I wrote down. It was the incorrect information. Of course she rolls her eyes and huffs and puffs. I’ve never been treated so rude or made to feel so small. Scrolling the reviews reviews. I’m not the only person to has been made to feel this way. I love doctor Pfanstiel and have been taking my daughter to him since she was a newborn. I have planned on taking my second child there as well. However I am just burnt out with the front desk assistant Lori. She is the rudest person I’ve ever had to deal with since becoming a parent. She has attitude about every question you ask her even when it comes to making a simple well check appointment. My sister has 3 children that go here as well and she’s experienced the same thing. The fact that she is still employed with all the complaints I’ve read and heard is just unbelievable. At this point I think I’m just going to switch doctors. Obviously she is family with someone in the office and this is never going to change. It’s very sad to split ways with a well known pediatrician in Tulsa. I like Dr Pfanstiel fine, he is a kind man, but his office is terrible. The receptionist is very condescending and his nurse even has her moments. I called because my son threw up medication they gave me the day before and she basically told me that is my problem and she is not sure what I think she can do about it. I spoke to the pharmacy and it is the worst tasting medicine and there is another version that is just as effective he can take that tastes much better. Why don’t doctors know this. So I call them and they tell me to have the pharmacy call them because she can’t be bothered to send in a new prescription or even call the pharmacy herself. Ridiculous. Always listens to any of my concerns as a parent . Always good with my children and listens to them as well. That to me is worth more than money can buy.

This is the best experience I have ever had with a Dr. He developed a good relationship with my son immediately. The entire staff was so kind. I can not say enough about the team of people at B.A. Pediatrics. I’m blessed to have found them!

I adore Dr. Pfanstiel. He treats my granddaughter with kindness and love, and she can be quite difficult. He is gentle, and takes time to explain everything to me in layman's terms. The entire office staff is cordial and exceedingly friendly. If I could give this pediatrician and his staff 6 stars, I would. I will never take my granddaughter anywhere else. UPDATE: March, 2020 I have been taking my granddaughter to Dr. Pfanstiel every since she was born. We chose this clinic as a matter of convenience, as it is right down the street from where we live. I could not be more pleased with the care and compassion we receive here. I would never take her any place else. This is the second time around parenting for me, as I am raising my granddaughter. Dr. Pfanstiel always takes the time to answer any questions or fears I might have and treats me with the utmost respect. Dr.Pfanstiel obviously loves children and is very patient and thorough. Grace is at ease and comfortable each and every time we go. The entire pediatric staff here cannot be matched. Very friendly and accommodating. We have also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Terry on several occasions. She is friendly, professional and wonderful with Grace as well. Everyone here works together as a team. My daughter began taking her three children here in 2018, and is thrilled with both Dr. Pfanstiel and Dr. Terry as well. Happy, happy! Joy, joy! I am so blessed to have found both pediatricians. They get six stars in my book. BTW.. Lori, the receptionist at the front desk is extremely kind, considerate and always willing to work with you. Forget seeing the doctors on a weekend. What kind of pediatrics clinic isn't open on the weekends when kids are out of school? Called the clinic to find out how to treat my child with breathing issues and a nurse told me children's claritin during the day (according to the CVS consultant, there is no such thing) and benadryl at night to make him tired to sleep through these issues. Went to CVS and they highly recommended I did NOT use benadryl at all unless my child had an allergic reaction. Why are nurses giving out bad information to parents? I wish i could leave less stars due to the awful nature of the front desk clerk. This isn't the first time she has been rude to me and i let is slide because i truly love the doctors at this office. Today i called to make an appt for both my youngest and oldest and laurie (front desk) told me 1130 they could both be seen. Awesome. I get there at 11:33 due to wrecks because of the weather today. I stand there and she keeps typing on her computer, okay, she's busy no biggie! I'll wait. Well, I'll be danged if she didn't give me the WORST attitude over the time. She tried to tell me i was 15 mins late, i replied wait, what? Im 3 mins after 1130? She then claimed she told me 1120 and 1130. ummm no? So i then tell her no, you told me 1130 for both? She literally takes her glasses off and with a nasty sneer replies "well then im sorry" and before i let her finish the rest of her AWFUL toned apology, i say "ok but i really do not appreciate your rude attitude towards me. I got here 3 mins after 1130 and i know if it was more than 5 i need to call for sure" So then she starts calling for the office manager, amber i think it was? I walk to sit with my kids and then we walk back with the nurse and that's when i asked to speak to the manager as well and even that woman tried to say she heard what happened but then kind of brushed it off. I have NEVER had an issue with her either, always been super kind and polite to one another. I have worked for two very successful doctors and would never dream of speaking to their clients/patients in the manner laurie does. Ever. I would have been fired. Dr.Terry came in and she was so kind and so was the intern doc. Front desk lady is rude and talks to you in a condescending tone. At that point i considered just hanging up and look for another doctor but i let it go since i needed to see the doctor not her. Once she rudely explained kids have to be “accepted” and would be called back if w e were. i never heard back after 24-48 he time frame she gave me. We have two amazing children and have been going to the doctor for close to four years. He is such an amazing Doctor Who cares about his clients. I am so grateful to have such a place to take our children.

Dr. Phanstiel is so awesome. My kids love him, and he's so great to be around. He makes us feel very comfortable. He has a wonderful personality and his knowledge is amazing. He's what you should want in a doctor.

Lori at the front office is the sole reason for this one star review. It's truly sad that this woman ruined my entire experience given that the doctors seem to have wonderful reviews. How anyone deals with her on a consistent basis is baffling. She is very rude and condescending. I have never been spoken to more disrespectfully than I have from this woman. A receptionist is the first impression you get at a doctor's office and I'm seriously surprised that they are getting patients at all. Having sick children or children in general is stressful enough. She just makes it that much harder to do something as simple as making an appointment. I dont know how she still has a job. She has left a serious bad taste in my mouth. Do NOT appreciate being told to show up 10 mins early to my appointment only to wait in the waiting room 30 mins AFTER my appointment!!!! My time is important too!!!! They were calling people back to see the doctor who showed up for their appointment 20 mins after I did. Are you kidding me?!?!?!

Dr Pfanstiel has been my boys' doctor for more then a year now, and he is always the kindest, most considerate doctor I've known. He makes sure they have what they need to be healthy and happy, and it's always willing to help with instruction and advice and even prayer, which is wonderful and rare in a doctor. His staff are also great and i haven't met a doctor there that i don't like. WOW! Dr Pfanstiel is just the most wonderful pediatrician out there. He genuinely cares for his patients. All I can say is that I wish I had found him years ago for my sons. He is thorough and never rushes his patients. He sits with you, and I mean he sits next to your kids and will ask questions. He even took a selfie with my boys! Both of my sons were impressed on how he was able to relate to them. "Doc Pfanstiel is cool, when do we have to come back?" they asked. He definitely has my respect and I will continue to recommend him to family and friends. From the check in process to the check out process the staff there were so sweet and helpful. We even got to meet Dr. Kim Terry. I do not usually write reviews and only will when someone goes way above and beyond, this is a great place to bring your children. Excellent job! WOW! We toured multiple pediatric offices before our son was born and this office won us over whenever Dr. Terry asked if she could pray over us and our son whom I was still pregnant with. Our son is now 7 months old, and I don't have a SINGLE complaint about this office or staff. We love Dr. Pfanstiel, Dr. Terry, the nursing staff, and the office staff. Everyone is so friendly, we can get same day appointments if our little is sick. We never feel pressured into making medical decisions, but supported in the things that we choose. The after hours nurse has been so helpful the couple of times we have had to call after hours and our little ones nurse has helped us via phone plenty of times. We love how much they love their patients. We also love that they have toys in the patient rooms to keep our girl entertained and they always end the appointment with a blessing. Laura collected all of my children's information including details about their medical history. Told me they do accept Soonercare but doctors review all the information and it's at their discretion whether to accept a patient or not. She returned my call soon after and said you've called 3 times they have all said no and they do not give a reasons. She says that's the normal process. I called 3 different times thinking they were full and I would call back again and maybe there would be an opening. Thank you Laura for being upfront, however I believe it's a bit biased to accept a patient based off their medical history and how often you might have to see them. If I could give less than 1 star I would due to the horrible rude lady at the front desk who answers phone calls and the crazy mess we have had to deal with just from switching doctors! The front desk lady talks very condescending to people and interrupts and talks over you and has absolutely zero people skills. I've seen several people who have complained about her so why she still hasn't been dealt with about this has me question whether this facility takes its customers seriously. Dr. Terry and her nurse were okay, not great but not bad. We went ahead and switched doctors to one where we didn't have to deal with a hateful receptionist. When this doctors office received our new doctors request for medical records for the kids they called and left a voice mail because the kids had upcoming appointments and they wanted to know if they should cancel them. I called back and the front desk woman was incredibly rude again. Apparently she never canceled the appointments like I requested either because she literally called me back 2 days later and asked me if she should cancel the appointments or keep them. So I told her again and she said she would cancel them. I get a call a week or so later saying my daughter missed her appointment for her shots and asking if we are gonna bring her in! My husband called and asked to talk to the nurse instead of the receptionist since she was clearly not doing her job, and after explaining 3 times that we were not bringing the kids back there was able to finally get this mess cleared up. I don't recommend going there. I've never seen such a mess! Or such a rude receptionist! I recently took my seven year old son to see Dr. Pfanstiel for a wellness check. He was very professional and thorough. He's great with kids and my kid felt comfortable around him which is rare considering he was a complete stranger to m6 son. He listens and asks questions and takes the time to answer any and all questions the parents might have. I left feeling like we had found a new home for medical visits. 100% recommend Dr. Pfanstiel

Dr. Pfanstiel is great with both of our boys. He's very personable and actually listens to the parents AND the children.

Dr. Pfanstiel is a great doctor, a wonderful man. His staff is nice, quickly returning calls & setting appointments oftentimes same-day if necessary. He has a Wellness Room for the kids that aren't sick, that are just there for a check-up which I feel is a must for Pediatrician offices. He believes in Jesus Christ, will pray for your child(ren), but is not pushy or obnoxious about it all. So if you aren't a Believer, don't let this detail turn you away from a great Doctor for your precious child(ren). Dr. Pfanstiel is a great doctor, a wonderful man.
