Very disappointing. The office does not answer the telephone.

Charles Frankel should be reported to Medicare for Medicare fraud and to CEDARS for fraudulent billing of an elderly 94 year old patient.He bills and receives payments from patients and subsequently bills Medicare, even though he had allegedly had opted out of Medicare in July 2022 and yet takes payments from Medicare again which is duplicate billing practices and duplicate payments from elderly patients and Insurance . Then bills a 94 year old patient the third time in Feb 2023 by harassing and threatening Collection!! SHAME ON CHARLES FRANKEL AND HIS CORRUPT ASSISTANT KEVIN COVERTLY RUNNING COVERT OPERATIONS FOR HIM TO EXPLOIT SICK ELDERLY PATIENTS.

The worst doctor and very unprofessional

The one star is generous for a Dr. Charles Frankel. He saw me as a patient in May 2024 and then billed my insurance then billed me and got paid twice. We then found out that he was billing Medicare and patients simultaneously and getting duplicate payments. To this day, his office is billing me as a 94 year old person on limited income. How is Cedars allowing this kind of unethical practices to occur with one of their doctors? We are thinking to report him to the BOARD of Medicine and Medicare for Medicare Fraud and elderly financial abuse of sick elderly patients. I think he was hoping that I would be old, helpless, and forgetful so he can continue to bill and exploit elderly sick patients. He should not be allowed to practice medicine. His office manager, Kevin has been covering for him all along. By the way, try calling the office for weeks but they never answer their phone ever. So finally drove to the office and was told that they were sure there “must be a mistake with billing”. Then they promised to refund me after discovery that they had also received duplicate payment from Medicare and myself via credit card. So far, there is no refund and instead we receive more excuses for duplicate billing which is Medicare fraud and elderly financial abuse. Please stay away from Charles Frankel as he is exploiting patients for financial gain. He has recently created a rate sheet walking around the office telling patients he will “charge $2000 for every 10 minutes” but then bills three times as much BOTH to the insurance and the patient for services never provided. GOOD LUCK finding a person to answer the office lines.

Absolutely the worst office staff ever. I have tried calling the office for an urgent follow up appointment and was told only the personal assistant for Dr. Frankel can make appointment but that was 2 weeks ago. Every time I. Call to get my test results or make an appointment, I am told he is out on a break or gone home early. Today, I was told, they have staff shortage because of COVID. What kind of doctor hires such unreliable, irresponsible and unaccountable staff. The worst experience ever! Unless you want to get sicker, do yourself a favor and stay away from calling this office! I was very impressed. Dr. Frankel listened to me and as a result had 2 tests run on me. One was done a week ago, the other yesterday. How surprised I was when 6:00 p.m. rolled around this evening (a Saturday) and he called me with the results. He said I have options for some of my symptoms and will discuss them in depth when I see him in 2 weeks. He answered many of my questions and was very knowledgeable about the contents of copies of reports I gave him regarding tests I had taken in the past. He was interested and caring. I am grateful to my internist for recommending him.

Excellent I was very impressed with his professional manner and he seriously took the time to discuss all of my issues before recommending medical treatment.

It amazes me how caring, responsive and knowledgeable Dr Frankel is, after having an endoscopy my results were scary but Dr Frankel was with me every step of the way answering all questions always there. He called me several times to check on me and because of his skills I am doing great. All physicians should be like this. No matter where I move I will always return to Santa Monica for my check ups.

He is superb for me. Very gentle, reassuring during the colonoscopy prep, and he follows up well when needed. I sense what other doctors have said about him: He is very dedicated to his work. The anesthesiologist he has brought has also been the best at comforting my anxiety about the procedure. The Cedars doctors have all been excellent. And they are out front with communication systems that allow easy access to the doctors. This is rare. I trust Charles Frankel completely.

Dr Charles Frankel is the best at what he do for patients. I was so sick when I first saw Doc. I didn't realized how sick. He ran so many test on me I got tired and didn't have any answers yet. I could not hold food or water on my stomach. He Dr. Frankel ran a last test at the end of three(3) month's and called me in w/answers. $2000. For meds but, three or four weeks later I feel like a new person! What a wonderful,patient doctor. He have the best bedside matters I have seen in a long time. Dr Frankel was highly recommended. To schedule an appointment I called the office twice and sent a message through the Cedars Sinai messaging application. I did not get a response. He may be a great physician but this lack of communication is just not acceptable to me

If you need a colonoscopy or endoscopy - if you need a gastroenterologist - please do yourself a favor and see Dr. Frankel. He’s WONDERFUL! He was referred to me by my internist (who I revere), and he’s on lists of “Best Doctors” as recommended by other doctors. But I can only speak as a patient. Dr. Frankel is an excellent physician. He is very caring, knowledgeable and excellent support staff. I have been going to him for a colonoscopy for over 15 years. It is easy to schedule an appointment, his office is new and the environment is clean and comforting. The staff is friendly and courteous. I trust Dr. Frankel's decisions and he is very thorough in reviewing your medical conditions. He calls you before and after a procedure to find out how you are feeling.

Dr. Frankel is the most caring doctor I have in my life. He calls when you need to talk to him. He is kind and has an expert staff that assists him. I just wish he were my internist. I could not ask for a more thorough doctor, more thoughtful and attentive.
