Dr. Ching Hsin Shih

Best doctor I've EVER had. Period. Five years with him! Staff, equally excellent. Dr. Shih, Alice and yes, Twila, were/are all EXCELLENT. Highly recommend them all. God bless you Dr Shih, Alice, staff and Twila (and your present and future endeavors). Don't believe the negative reviews. These people want quick fixes and meds on demand. They do NOT do that. They're highly educated, experienced, trained and, above all, responsible. Truly care for your health and recovery. Nay sayers are dopes and probably dopeheads (see their profiles). I visited Dr. Shih's office a few days ago for my first appointment and I was just blown away by how amazing my experience was with his front desk staff, assistant, and Dr. Shih himself. I was really scared at first since I've never been to a psychiatrist, but Dr. Shih really made me feel at ease during that first appointment because of his strong his sense of empathy, his vast knowledge and experience in psychiatry, and his likable sense of humor. He is the kind of doctor that is careful in the type of medications/dosages he prescribes to his patients and knows that patients are different from case to case, so he wants to take medical treatment one step at a time and make sure the right psychiatric diagnosis is given before medical treatment. I could really tell that he does want to see his patients' conditions get better because of the time he spent getting to know me and my medical/psychiatrist history. Booking an appointment may take a while because he is in his office only a few certain days a week now due to being retired I hear, but he still continues his psychiatric practice with patients today in the same location. The wait time in the office may take a while as well, but that is because he spends time with each patient. Overall Dr. Shih is such a great psychiatrist and such a beautifully compassionate human being. I could tell that he truly loves his job. Unfortunately Dr. Shih Retired. But while he was my Doctor I have nothing but good things to say about him. He always imparted his wisdom and listened to my problems. I'm in the search for another Dr like him.

Twila puts people on antidepressants for crying in her office.. she is an elder entitled white woman who just got her degree at age 60. She prescribes medication for sport. When I expressed that the medication was not working for me she advised me to quit cold turkey. I was on Welbutrin a medication that is dangerous to abruptly stop. She should have her license revoked. This office does not treat mental health or care for its patients. Dr. Shih is a very special doctor. Within the first few minutes of our session I started crying because I hadn’t felt so understood and heard by a clinician. He is a wonderful caring doctor. The wait is often long but this is because he actually takes time w/ Patients. He laughs a lot and is older and hard to understand sometimes. If you are in a hurry, go to a different Dr. but if u want a really caring good doctor he is great. I love Dr. Shih and his assistant is great too!

He has been my doctor since my late 20s. He is a beautiful person. And has given me the input to fight for my life. He always greets his patients with the utmost respect. Of course he is a psychiatrist. He is a great man of wisdom. A person that will laugh at problems! He tries to approach his patients needs in a holistic manner. If he observes you need medication he will be considerate of the affliction a patient is suffering.He is very compassionate.He will go the extra mile to help. Y.D

Waiting time is always long. Superficial laughing all the way. He is too slow. Not helpful.

I haven't had a Psychiatrist that actually listened to me in a long time. I had another Psychiatrist in that office (will not name him) but he wanted to change my entire prescription situation. I have been through almost all medications and I have a pretty good feel of the ones that work and don't. Dr. Shih listened, did change one or two prescriptions at least in dosage and I feel great. Best I have felt in a long time. Thanks Dr. Shih. -J

For my high school year, this has been the best place of my life. My Doctor Dr. Chin (Chan?) has provided me with the excellent care I needed. I had ADD (I probably still have it) and he prescribed me with the best medicine for me. And because of meetings and prescriptions and counseling he's done, he's responsible for my high school graduation with honors. Also, the crew and staff were very friendly and gave the best customer support. I am looking forward to meet them again sometime soon. I need some records for my future for the Air Force.
