Reviews for Chirag A Shah
My wife was referred to Dr Shah by our pcp and he acted right away. He checked my wife within 4 days, explain to her what need to be done and the tests to be done to ensure proper procedure. Within a week my wife had the life saving hysterictomy and found the cancer which happen to be stage 4. She is undergoing chemo treatment and is tolerating it well. Dr Shah and his team really prepared my wife and our family for what is to be done. They listen to our concerns and there is no such thing as a stupid question as far as they are concern. We love him and his team for their loving and professional care. Would recommend him 100%. My wife was referred to Dr Shah by our pcp and he acted right away. I couldn't have asked for a better, more competent and caring physician than Dr. Shah. After may missed and wrong diagnosis I was finally sent to Dr. Shah. He diagnosed my disease from my charts, made room in his busy schedule and saw me 2 days after the referral. He truly saved my life. His staff is also very competent and caring. 2 yrs hence I need a small "repair" surgery and though it's not his specialty, he assured me that he will assist and be there during the surgery! What a guy!
My Experience with Dr Shah and his team, has been wonderful! everyone including Dr Shah are there to answer any questions. This has been a very scary time for me and they have been very calming and helpful. I would Highly recommend them.
My mother was a patient of Dr. Shah and we absolutely love him. He is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and an overall wonderful health professional. My mother is 93 years old and was diagnosed with endometrial cancer at the beginning of 2020. We were fortunate to be able have Dr. Shah perform her hysterectomy and continued with him as her oncologist. He was thoughtful about her treatment, making sure she would be able to handle treatment without too much distress. She successfully completed her chemotherapy in June of 2020. My sisters and I believe that Dr. Shah saved our mother’s life. I would highly recommend Dr. Shah and his exceptional staff!
Dr. Shah truly listened to my individual patient needs and always assured mindfulness as to what was best for me. His entire care team was amazing; always available and supportive.
Dr. Shah is a great doctor who really cares about his patients.
After being misdiagnosed and blown off by a gynecologist CHI Franciscan I was referred to Swedish Hospital. I was very fortunate to be taken as a patient by Dr. Shah. He diagnosed my problem just after reading my chart and looking at me. He put me on a fast track to deal with my cancer. He is compassionate, sincere and caring. An excellent physician, a year later he has made me happy and getting healthier all the time. His staff is wonderful and make me feel cared for like family. I am very grateful for his care. Dr. Shah and his staff and nurses made this the best experience I could have hoped for during such a devastating and difficult time in my life. Going to any doctor under these circumstances is never easy. Dr. Shah immediately put me at ease with his compassion, vast knowledge, his years of experience and his excellent patient rapport and care. I would highly recommend him to family and friends. Dr. Shah is compassionate, empathetic, and superbly skilled–and my wife and I feel that he saved her life. We did a lot of research before selecting him; He received the kind of references that really matter: from his peers in the field who, across the city and to some extent across the country, recommended him to us. Most importantly, of course, his surgical skills were superb; he admitted my wife in the evening and my wife walked out a new person before the end of the following day. We feel very, very fortunate, and very grateful. Dr. Shah is compassionate, empathetic, and superbly skilled–and my wife and I feel that he saved her life. Horrible Doctor. I will never go back to Swedish again. I was supposed to have a hysterectomy due to a precancerous lesion that was missed by the U.W. (I can't even talk about that), and repair of an enterocele that had been causing me excruciating pain, so I thought when I signed the permit. He did the hysterectomy, but did not do the complete surgery. I had asked him to have a colorectal surgeon present, and he gave me a hard time about that, and said it wasn't necessary. He refused to listen to me after multiple visits to his office. He has been disrespectful in his tone and behavior toward me during physical examinations. Although he apologized, that didn't make me feel any better. I was sent home less than 24 hours after my surgery. I was given oycontin and fell twice at home. I was incontinent of stool, and had unusual pain after the surgery. I continued to complain and go back to him and to multiple doctors after the surgery and have diarrhea for months after the surgery. It was discovered 8 months later that I had C difficile. This infection can happen after a person has been given an antibiotic IV. I had gone to multiple doctors to help me find out what was wrong. I had multiple lab tests outside of Swedish, stool tests, and procedures. All I needed was an antibiotic. He refused to order a fecal defecogram and said that was not his specialty. (I just happen to know that test can show an enterocele and other issues that sometimes are not seen on an MRI). Dr. Bastawrous at Swedish also refused to order the fecal defecogram. I think they are in "cahoots" with each other. I finally got another doctor to order that test I needed to show that my small bowel was twisted and lowered and part of my colon might have been involved as well. The enterocele was never fixed and, I believe made worse by not doing anything to repair what was already there. In the mean time, I had an irregular blood pressure, that was not being well controlled. I blame that on being in constant pain, and suffering. Dr. Lewis, my cardiologist, was just as bad. His nurse told me that Dr. Lewis told me to stop taking my blood pressure so often....I went to another cardiologist who just found out that part of one of my stents in my heart is closing off. I'm not surprised. A person can only take so much pain and stress. Now I can't have the surgery that I have needed for so long because I'm supposed to have an angioplasty and be on Plavix. These doctors at Swedish do not care about patients. They only care about making money. That is all. Horrible Doctor. I will never go back to Swedish again. Would highly recommend.
My Mother was referred to Dr. Shah. We could not have been happier. My Mom had to have full hysterectomy. Cancer was found. Dr. Shah explained the procedure before, during and after. Office staff was great with phone calls to us and from us. We feel very fortunate that we were referred to Dr. Shah.
Dr. Shah is an excellent surgeon. He truly cares for the physical and emotional well-being of his patients. I am truly grateful for the excellent care I received and for longevity it has provided me. The hospital and his office were excellent. Everyone was prompt and very courteous.
Would highly recommend Dr. Shah. My overall experience was excellent. A good listener and provides satisfactory explanations of procedures.
When I learned that I had aggressive endometrial cancer, I interviewed three surgeons. Dr. Shah is an exceptional practitioner. Among the three, he was direct, clear and encouraging. He was optimistic that he could complete my surgery robotically, while another surgeon insisted that a full abdominal procedure was the only viable option. The surgery was exceptional. I had very little pain. One night in the hospital, back to work in two weeks and resumed chemotherapy in three. Full recovery ahead!
Worst experience with a doctor’soffice. I was scheduled for a procedure, I scheduled time off work and setup a ride home. I arrived to the hospital on time. Just before an IV was setup Dr Shah comes in to tell me they didn’t schedule the laser. I asked if the knew this earlier and he said yes. They wasted my time and no empathy from them. Also, was quoted a price several times, the bill was three times their verified quote. Running out space to write, I recommended you look up a different Doc.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience. At the first appointment, Dr. Shah went over my test results and clearly informed me of what would be done surgically. Surgery went as planned and I was even able to go home that night. I didn't need pain medication after the surgery. I've had no side effects. A couple of calls to his office after surgery were returned promptly and a full answer provided. I liked the convenience of having surgery at a location near me (Valley in Renton).

Great doctor. He cares. Includes me in the decision making process. Discusses alternatives. Good communicator. Assistant Elizabeth is great too!

Dishonest about surgical intentions and outcomes. Wrong diagnosis & deceptive consent. Gutted me unnecessarily against my directives for a small benign fibroid for higher profit. Left in PACU restrained to a gurney & eyes covered, begging for help for 3 hrs. Resulting in life long devastating injuries; bladder, bowel & sexual dysfunction, nerve damage, chronic pain & weakness, unable to sleep or function a year later. Made promises, then destroyed my life falsely citing standard of care. Evil.

I have been Dr. Shah's patient for over five years. In June 2012, Dr. Shah preformed surgery to remove ovarian cancer from my body. I have seen him many times for follow-ups. Dr. Shah is a very skilled and caring doctor. I highly recommend him.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in January of 2017 and thanks to Dr. Shah and his caring medical team, I am now cancer free and on my way to recovery . Dr. Shah listened to what I had to say and made me feel that I was part of the decision making with my treatment. I am grateful to have him as a doctor and I highly recommend him.

Great care from Dr. Shah for the past three years, ever since I was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer. Very knowledgeable, he's also approachable and answers every question, takes the time to explain things, and is committed to optimizing my quality of life. Dr. Shah did my major de-bulking surgery and it was very successful.

Recent hysterectomy with Dr. Shah, allows me to comment on his professionalism and compassionate. I gave a top rating to Dr. Shah for this very reason. Thank you for reassuring my health comes first. Teresa
