H o r r i d he is going to be reported and Melissa and Wesley Smidt and dmos to the medical board. And I have a lot of evidence.

Dr. Christopher Nelson replaced both of my hips. He is very knowledgeable about his field and medicine, in general. He answered every question and concern I had. He put me at ease about the two surgeries and helped me get on track for successful outcomes. I found him to be professional and personable. I was referred to Dr. Nelson because I couldn't take my pain, anymore and DMOS said he could take me. I didn't know anything about Dr. Nelson until then. I am very thankful to have been referred to him for my care. I couldn't have had a better surgeon. After 10 years of being handicapped and in pain, my hips and legs work just like they used to. Dr. Christopher Nelson did a fabulous job! I am very thankful.

Dr. Nelson is an excellent surgeon. He fixed both of my hips for labral tears & debridement. I had my right one done first & I had instant relief. He tells you exactly what he feels will help & needs to be done. Molly is amazing also! always reassuring, answers any questions or concerns that you might have. Their concern for your pain is top notch. With my fibromyalgia,I am always worried about how I will be treated. Dr. Nelson treated me no different then other patients, but knowing my situation & the fact that I may have a harder recovery, wants all his patients to concentrate on their recovery by taking care of your pain. I have recommended him to several people.

I just had my first total hip replacement with Dr. Chris Nelson of Des Moines Orthopedic Surgeons. He was recommended to me by Dr. Steven Craig, and I'm so thankful he sent me to Dr. Nelson. Excellent choice and I was very pleased with Dr. Nelson's work from start to finish. Very professional and gives his patients all the time they need to make sure questions are answered and they feel confident about moving forward with their particular procedure. He also has an excellent staff! A+ grade

Exceptional surgeon. Right hip replacement has given me a new lease on life. Feeling better than I have in quite some time. He is driven and dedicated and has a tremendous reputation among his peers. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nelson. DMOS is incredibly organized and his staff are wonderful. Thank you Molly - in particular!

Dr. Nelson recently replaced both of my hips. The experience could not have been better. He's a great surgeon and he's backed up by a great PA and staff at DMOS.

Dr Nelson came in with a bad attitude and it went down hill from there. He had scheduled me for surgery before examining me. He would not listen or answer questions. He was rude and disrespectful. He had been completely different for past surgeries so this was shocking. Dr Jeckel and Mr Hyde. I left in tears and traumatized by the experience. I will NEVER recommend him for anything. He clearly has a temper and should stop practicing medicine.

He is a very kind man. He actually listened to me. For this I am thankful to have found him.

Dr. Nelson is at the top of his profession. He conveyed great empathy. He carefully evaluated and diagnosed my problem (hip replacement). He clearly and carefully explained the procedure. The surgery and interface with Methodist West was flawless. His staff are similarly professional and called me at least once a week for a check-in. My healing process was very fast, and I attribute this partly to the care of these professionals. No question or concern went unanswered. Great job!

Dr. Nelson took our complicated case of hip dysplasia with labral tear even though it may not fix the problem he at least wanted to try to give her some relief knowing it could possibly re-tear. Dr. Nelson is very professional and caring. The guy knows his stuff. We feel very fortunate to have found him. If you have to have your hips fixed, this is the Doctor you want. He has done both of my knee replacements. Both went well. I was told by other doctors that I was too young for knee replacements. I was to the point of needing a wheelchair to get around the pain in my knees was so intense. The whole experience (both times) was very good. The hospital staff were excellent too.

I had been suffering from hip pain for many years & sent to numerous Drs that told me nothing was wrong with my hip. As a 30 yr old active female, it's very devastating to be unable to exercise & do the things I enjoy. He was very kind & easy to talk to with,but, most of all he listened to me. He spent time explaining that I DID have something wrong with my hip. I was able to have surgery a few weeks later to fix the torn labrum in my hip. Thank you Dr. Nelson for letting me enjoy my life again!

I loved Dr. Nelson! My daughter is a 13 years old gymnast/ cheerleader and got a labral tear. Dr. Nelson fixed her labrum and now she is back to her old self. She has no pain at all! He was wonderful from start to finish.

Dr Nelson is a very kind and caring surgeon who eases anxiety about the procedures and is an excellent surgeon all around. He surrounds himself with great caring staff and I would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

I?m very pleased with the results of my surgery. Dr. Chris Nelson is not only an excellent surgeon but also has a wonderful bedside manner. He took the time to explain my X-rays and MRI results and what my options were. He was not quick to rush into surgery. I had a labrum repaired and my husband had a complete hip replacement. We are both very happy with the results.
