Dr. Sakkaris was so helpful at my periodontist consult, answered several questions in-depth, and offered 2 possible approaches. I like that he offers various techniques to appeal to each patient’s overall best interest.

Dr. Sakkaris's office staff is rude, abrasive, and unprofessional. Upon a minor misunderstanding of appointment times, Ashley abrasively tried to call attention to fault vs. diffusing the situation for the time mix up. I was rescheduled for a later appointment with the office and rescheduled my day to meet the appointment time. The office then called and refused my new appointment time asking me to attend yet at a new time. Again no apologies offered by Ashley and she was most eager to make my appointment impossible for me to make. She stated she would relay a message to the doctor and then refused to. She proceeded to be inconsiderate, careless, and harsh throughout the dialog. I did ask to speak with the office manager to gain a sense if the issues were a reflection of the overall practice. I had gum tissue graft surgery 10 days ago and Dr. Sakkaris did an excellent job. This is not something we choose to do for fun, of course, and I was anxious about it. He and his staff told us about what the surgery would involve, gave me specific details written down to follow before the surgery and afterward, and even called me the day before to make sure I had gotten my prescriptions filled and had started taking them. They also answered my questions regarding pain medications afterwards as I am sensitive to medications. I was referred to Dr. Sakkaris by my regular dentist, Dr. Stang, who is with Standley Shores Dental Group. (also excellent-very skilled, listens and explains, wonderful staff, etc.). Dr. Sakkaris and Dr. Stang work together with patients to make sure there is the "team" approach provided with these types of problems. My gum recession had progressed to the point where Dr. Stang felt it would be good to see what Dr. Sakkaris' thoughts were concerning options for my problem and avoiding further gum recession. I never felt pushed in making the choice for this surgery by either one of them--just informed as to what my choices were and felt there was a sincere desire to try to help me with their expertise and experience. The staff has been nothing but friendly, helpful, and attentive. (Ivie is very knowledgeable and helpful as one of Dr. Sakkaris' assistants as are Nicole and Shawna on the staff) Dr. Sakkaris and Rebecca, the assistant helping with my surgery, that day, coordinated very well together throughout the whole 90 minute operation. I opted for nitrous oxide and it really helped take the edge off. My husband was called 15 minutes ahead of time to pick me up after the surgery so was waiting when I was done. I was made to feel very comfortable and would trust Dr. Sakkaris with any procedures I may need in the future. He is very careful, thorough, and experienced. I recommend him and his staff to you if you are needing to find a periodontist. He knows his stuff and you will be in good hands!! Always very professional. Excellent quality care. If you really care about your teeth, your oral health and your systemic health, this is where you should go.

Dr. Sakkaris is very good and friendly, but office staff is totally incompetent. I paid for procedure in advance, and then received a bill 10 months later saying I owed them another $421.20. Even though he is a preferred provider with MetLife I had to file the claim myself to receive the insurance benefit. After MetLife paid an additional $871 they refused to refund the difference.
