In Dec, 2001, Dr Shelton & Dr Ron Applebaughm removed an acoustic neuroma tumor behind my left ear. I had been seeing Dr. Shelton prior to that, and after that experience, he has definitely been my ENT since then. I have recommended him too many people. (( I jokingly told him that he can’t retire, until after my death; and although I’m not sure about this, I believe we are close to being the same age. Thank you Dr. Shelton, and thanks also to your dedicated staff. )) Respectfully, Ron Greenleaf, Sandy, Utah In Dec, 2001, Dr Shelton & Dr Ron Applebaughm removed an acoustic neuroma tumor behind my left ear. I was misdiagnosed for 4 years. Lost all of my hearing in my right ear and all of the doctors didn’t believe me (NOT Dr. Shelton). I was put on more medication than I can count. I even had one doctor tell me it was my acne that caused my pain and my deafness in my right ear (I was 15 years old!). I went to school every day in pain and getting more depressed by the day because I thought I would have to live like that forever. And then we found Dr. Shelton. When I found out that Dr. Shelton was retiring I had to come on here just to say how amazing he is. We did head CT and found out that I had a tumor behind my ear called a Cholesteatoma, and it was so sever it was almost to my brain. From the very first appointment with Dr. Shelton I finally felt like I had somebody who would help me. He performed surgery to remove this tumor LESS THAN A MONTH after this appointment, and then a year later he performed another to give me hearing back in my right ear. I have not been in pain since then and it has been 4 years since my last surgery. He is an AMAZING doctor. I don’t know if he will ever see this review, but I am 21 years old now and I cannot thank you enough. You gave me my life back. I am very lucky that we were able to have him as a doctor! Dr. Shelton is amazing. A true professional and impeccable surgeon. I've had 4 cochlear implant surgeries with him (none his fault). Three surgeries to correct a previous surgeon's work that caused infection and one surgery due to device failure (manufacturer's fault). Dr. Shelton literally restored my hearing in both ears and solved all of my problems. I'm grateful. Dr. Shelton is amazing. A true professional and impeccable surgeon. Dr. Shelton performed cochlear implant surgery on my 16 month old daughter. He is very kind and knowledgeable, willing to answer all our questions. Her incisions are thin and healed beautifully, his work was impeccable! Even our audiologist was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the incisions look. We travelled from the Boise area to see Dr. Shelton, and it was definitely worth the trip! We would recommend him to anyone! My 16 month old daughter got meningitis in November. A month later we found out she was profoundly deaf because of the meningitis. We found out that the meningitis can cause the cochlea to ossify causing hearing loss. Our ENT in Montana attempted cochlear implant surgery but there was more ossification than he was comfortable with. He called Dr Shelton and got us into him the following week to try to get the cochlear implant in so our baby could hear again. Dr Shelton is amazing. He is very personable and he cares. He does amazing work and for the first time since November we had hope. We are so lucky to have him for a surgeon. We just got her other ear done and he was as amazing as ever.
