I was a guest in February 2022 along with my brother who needs a transplant. The distance to the hospital is a 15min drive in the worst traffic and with some very early appts that is a blessing. The University of Pennsylvania staff from the staff at the house to security guards at the hospital are always helpful, pleasant, and extremely capable. They will go out of their way to ensure your experience is a great one. Having access to other people who are going through recovery from a transplant and their loved ones was a blessing I didn't expect. The guests recipient's and their loved ones are a wealth of knowledge and very open about their experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There are restaurants nearby. Its a great location. The facility is clean and the staff are phenomenal! They were so compassionate and helpful. I was alone because of covid and they were so supportive and made my stay much easier. Thank you Clyde Barker staff. You are appreciated.

We have used the Barker transplant house almost monthly for a year as I recover from a lung transplant. Everything is great. Staff is welcoming and helpful, facilities spotless., rooms are comfy, the kitchen a godsend. A real gift.

I am so thankful to the transplant house for providing an more affordable place to stay as I recovered from my liver transplant. Thank you for everything.

This is the best place ever! The manager is amazing! The maintenance guy gets things done in a timely manner! Rooms are like a hotel and some have wheelchair accessible showers. The regular cleaning lady is very thorough and does a great job! The amenities include a kitchen with 3 refrigerators, 2 gas ranges, 3 dishwashers/sinks, living room space, laundry room (2 sets), conference room with tv and setup for movies/presentations, dining room (7 tables with 4 chairs), piano, 3 guest bathrooms, courtyard/patio in the center, 12 (2nd floor) nicely laid out patient&guest rooms with bathroom (1 bedroom on the 1st floor also), 3 computers, movies, books, and games for guest use, new seating and planters on the front patio, 2 staircases on either side, and it has an elevator for those people who need it. My husband and I recently stayed for 3 months when we got to Philadelphia and we felt very welcome by the staff. When my husband had his transplant evaluations my mother in law stayed with us and it worked out great. My parents also stayed with us temporarily and they had a sofa bed to use. As for the location, it's on the University of Pennsylvania campus so it has lots of restaurants in the area as well as coffee shops, pharmacies, grocery stores, and several parks. All within walking distance and public transportation. Plus the hospital is down the street which is very convenient. Parking is available with a parking pass. Another thing is they have a guest chef program that come in once or twice a month to cook meals for the guests. Very nice. The volunteer employees are also amazing. We felt very safe also (security guard on duty as well as campus security everywhere). We definitely would stay here again if possible. Thank you so much!!! ????????????????????
