Great doctor! He helped our son walk again and we will forever go to him for any future orthopedics needs! He’s kind, great bed side manner and spends as much time with you as needed. We didn’t feel rushed at all with our appointment. Pre, post and the day of surgery. Thank you Dr. Watkins!

Visited Dr. Watkins (remotely) on 12/3. He was super friendly, on time, and diagnosed the issue quickly and competently. He was able to answer my questions and provide the associated documentation required that day. Would highly recommend!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Watkins. His office staff are friendly and welcoming, and his nurse practitioner is wonderful! Dr. Watkins explained everything to us about our daughter in simple terms that we could understand and he laid out for us a clear plan. He also involved us in the decision making and helped us come to a path forward that worked for us and our daughter. He is kind, generous of spirit and thoughtful. We could not be more please with his care of our child.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Watkins. As an athlete I needed an emergency surgery done on my femoral neck and Dr. Watkins make time in his schedule to take me in as a new patient. In our pre-surgery meeting Dr. Watkins was extremely patient and answered every question I had about the surgery. He is an expert in his field and explained everything he was going to do in the surgery procedure. The team of doctors I worked with was worried I would displace the two screws in my femoral neck after surgery because I wanted to push my recovery time. Dr. Watkins understands the psychological stress of an athlete who desires to go back to their sport as soon as possible. He explained in depth the types of exercises I could do to modify my sport so I could make progress post surgery. Other orthopedic doctors who have seen my xrays say the placement of the screws look “textbook” - as this is how the textbooks in medical school show a perfect placement of screws and nobody does the type of perfect work like Dr. Watkins can do. The last thing I wanted was to prolong my recovery period so I listened to Dr. Watkins and he allowed me to check in with him weekly to check in on my progress. Our son broke his femur in a mountain biking accident and was in a lot of pain. Dr. Watkins was great with him, explained the options, and answered all our questions before the surgery. Dr. Watkins and everyone at Boston Children's was wonderful and helped make a tough experience easier. He took his time with us during the follow-up appointments, helped us understand the healing and recovery process, and encouraged us to contact him with any questions and concerns. The first two weeks after the accident were incredibly rough, but we were amazed at how quickly our son healed and appreciate the care he received.

Not good. I do not believe he read the other doctor's notes, both of which were referring us to orthopedics. He clearly didn't know why we were there and wanted to send us on our way as quick as he could. He indicated there was no issue without any examination; not a follow-up appointment to actually be able to exam my child or an attempt to calm my child in order to complete an exam.

Great and thoughtful doctor! Took the time to explain different treatment options and helped us decide the best course of treatment.

Dr. Watkins was a great help!

My son broke his humerus bone just below the shoulder on January 18th. We though his baseball season was over. Dr. Watkins performed surgery at Children's Hosp and by April 4th he was taking batting practice. Dr. Watkins was great on so many levels.

This provider misdiagnosed by child with a very serious condition and put our family through hell. Zero bedside manner and doesn’t interact with children well. Not sure why he’s in pediatrics. Would not recommend this provider to anyone!
