My wife was checked into the ER for emergency surgery at Utah Valley in Provo, and she was wheeled right up to the surgical floor for two discs to be replaced. She never saw this doctor, nor did she talk to him at all. He billed us for over $700 for nothing saying he provided services. What a crook.

My wife was checked into the ER for emergency surgery to replace two slipped discs in her neck. She was rushed right up to the surgical floor without seeing a doctor in the ER because she had a note from her surgeon explaining the situation; checking into the ER was the only way she could receive help without waiting months on end. We got a bill for over $700 from Dr. Patten saying we owed him for services. He did nothing to provide any service, help, consultation, etc. We had to negotiate down to $350 so they wouldn't send us to collections for the full amount.

Has a good bedside manner. Was helpful and appeared knowledgeable. He explained the cause of symptoms and path they would take fairly well. He also explained options for further treatment.

Speaks with you not at you, and is very knowledgeable.
