About Craig Polinsky
Reviews for Craig Polinsky
Dr. Polinsky is a great person. His office staff is horrendous. Utter chaos, incompetence, poor follow-up. Dr. may be too nice a guy to whip his staff into shape. If you can get past the horrible people who run the office, you will have a great doctor, but good luck ever seeing him.
In spite of the changes and shortages of the difficulty times the telephone responses and my office visit with Doctor Polinsky and his assistant Sofia was as needed. I do hope Amicus will soon return to complete practice with lab tests etc
I had been his patient for over 15 years. I am diabetic, have high blood pressure and take 4 meds for that. In Sept having for several visits on the same matter I consulted him about my alarming Swollen Ankles. His "treatment" was to prescribe a diuretic . On Sept. 23 2020, I was driving to my dermatologist' office, when I went into KIDNEY FAILURE, was rushed to Broward North, was in I.C.U. and had 2 dialysis treatments & was told by the technician that had I not been rushed to the hospital, I would have been DEAD within 3 HOURS! Dr Polinsky Never had the decency to even contact me! Any doctor (certainly an "Internal Practitioner'), knows kidney failure is an effect of diabetes. I SHOWED him my Swollen Ankles. I was 79 (now 80) & my entire Life has been affected. He's a Disgrace and I would NEVER recommend him. BEWARE!!!
I am a new patient as of January 1st, I called for and appointment and they said because I was a new patient the earliest they can see me was February 18th..that is 45 days....what can I do so I wait then today the 17th one day before my long awaited app, I was called and canceled, they said the next available app would be sometime in April, almost 60 plus days. I am a diabetic,I also have a heart condition and high blood pressure, and failing eye sight. When I told the woman I would have to go elsewhere she didn't seem to care,Told me to go to first Med. Wow can you imagine they couldn't squeeze me in, I guess they no cancellations in the past 45 days. Everything went well......he is very thorough....
Dr Polinsky is special. He’s what a doctor should be, caring , professional and knowledgeable. He’s never too busy to listen to all of your health needs and make recommendations to alleviate the problem. He’s head and shoulders above any other health practitioner I’ve used.
The doctor and staff do a very good job.
Dr. Polinsky, Sophia, and the whole staff at Medicus are super!! Dr. P. takes his time with my husband and truly listens to any concerns he may have. Kudos!!! Only issue is that, in this day and age, Amicus should have a patient portal!!
Mr. Polinsky is a great doctor. He’s been my dads doctor for years and we appreciated his service for our family.
Let me tell you HOW I found DR. POLINSKY first. I was looking for a doctor for my husband. We moved to Florida a year ago and we were incredibly UN-happy with the previous practice he was going to. So, I went to his insurance carrier's website where they actually have patient ratings there. I sorted out every doctor that had 4 out of 4 stars in every category. That yielded 4 results. Then I went and started reading on each doctor one by one, dropping them off the list for some pretty good reasons. I weeded out every review that had a dumb complaint like a staff member who didn't bow down to them in the manner they were accustomed to. I searched every review on the first TEN PAGES of Google results for ALL FOUR doctors. Ultimately, it was Dr. Polinsky who had fit the check boxes of what I was looking for that would be suitable for my husband. Starting out with male and a bit older. My husband is 68 years young and he prefers someone who listens, who engages back, and who has a sense of humor. Since my husband has one the best senses of humor, a doctor who "gets him" is a key characteristic. After all that reading, I scheduled his annual physical. Once we got there, we were taken to a room so fast, we weren't even through the paperwork. That was fine since I'd already had a printed copy of all of hubby's meds, his diagnoses, and his medical history. We were taken back by either a nurse or a medical assistant. I'm a nurse so I'm paying close attention to everything she does. Vitals taken. All good. Blood needed to be drawn and I made sure that one specific annual test would be done. Then I watched her do the blood draw. She was either taught well or certified in Phlebotomy. She went straight into the vein with little discomfort to hubby and it was done quickly. She was kind, had a great sense of humor, and took all of the information seriously. She also took her time to make sure everything was entered correctly, especially the prescriptions. Dr. Polinsky came in not long after that. He went through everything. Not only did he listen to hubby, he paid attention to what I had to say as well. Yes, I'm a nurse but I am, for the most part, present as a wife. The nurse part of me is there to fill in any blanks and to make sure all the information on the paperwork (theirs and mine) is all addressed. Hubby and the doc talked about everything. Hubby made his concerns known. Dr. Polinsky recommended a specific type of ultrasound based on hubby's medical history. He didn't push for it, he recommended it and he detailed why he recommended it. We were both a "thumbs up" for that. Dr. Polinksy's knowledge of what the insurance companies will and will not pay for was impressive. Dr. Polinsky did all of the physical examination. He checked everything that needed to be checked. Another test was given in the office. Again, it was something insurance would cover and would give a baseline reading if it came out normal. He covered all of the things Medicare requires for their annual wellness exams too. He's kind, friendly, has a great sense of humor, appreciates hubby's humor, and he was as competent as they come. He talked about the staff in the practice and who hubby might see if he came down with more of an urgent care need. Basically, hubby might have to see one of the PA's in the office. Which is fine by me and hubby as long as they're just as thorough as the doctor himself. Hubby is retired. I'm not. I will return to work in the near future. There are few doctors who I've been seen by that I would say this about. I'd work for this doctor. I'm picky but I would work in this practice. I was watching a whole lot more than just what was happening in the exam room. I could see how the office runs efficiently. It moves like well-oiled machine but also has a large, heaping dose of humanity and actual CARING about health in there. On the way out, we scheduled the ultrasound and hubby's appointment for 6 months from now and off we went. When we were out the door, I asked my husband, "are you happy?" He said he was definitely happy! Let me tell you HOW I found DR. POLINSKY first. I was looking for a doctor for my husband. Dr Polinsky is a very patient compassionate doctor. Giving my husband all the time we need to have our questions answered. I feel he is thorough and interested in his patient. It's not good that he does not go to the hospital if I patient is in the hospital. He is special and I would want no one else. He knows me best. The downside is that his being part of Amicus, he can't ever be reached and his staff does not answer his phones when I call. Amicus operator does and there is a long wait. Messages for him hardly reach him and I have to call several times to get an answer to my inquiry. If you are lucky you can perhaps reach Sophie his assistant and she may respond to your inquiry. Hardly ever Dr. Polinsky unfortunately. I would appreciate being able to talk to my doctor when I call or later when he returns patients calls. That is my main gripe. To many "cooks in the kitchen". Hardly the chef". Not good.
I have been a patient of Dr Polinsky only since March 1, 2019. There are several reasons re: my feelings . Dr Polinsky was very thorough on my initial visit and appeared to take an interest, as I just received a diagnosis of lung cancer. The hospital that diagnosed me indicated I should begin radiation ASAP and chemo to follow closely. He and his support staff communicated with the physician who diagnosed me shortly after I entered his office. Secondly I can walk to his office. It is one city block from my front door. His nurse and his referral peoplebegan satisfying my needs immediately. To summarize, I am very pleased with all aspects of Dr Polinsky's communication with me and I certainly felt cared for by all staff especially thr referral people and the woman at the front desk. She has always greeted me wit a smile and knew my name each time I came to the office. I'm feeling extremely with Dr Polinsky and his staff. 5 stars is my rating for Dr Polinsky and his staff.
Amazing Doctor Polinsky !!!! And awsome nurse Sophia !!!!
Best primary care doctor I have found since moving to Florida 27 years ago from Boston area where I was used to top notch doctors. Dr. Polinsky is caring and proficient. I am very comfortable with his service. I highly recommend this doctor.

Doctor Polinski is a great doctor compassionate and caring always provides plenty of time to see you and do whatever is needed. Office staff is awful. Referrals take too long. Surly individuals have mislead me repeatedly re referrals having been made. They make mistakes and stretch the truth regarding follow ups. Getting in quickly for urgent care is iffy.
Dr. Polinsky has the best bedside manner. He is very kind, compassionate and thorough, besides being very knowledgeable. I wouldn't take my elder mom anywhere else. He is the BEST!

An excellent doctor. Dr. Polinksy, besides being a very good doctor for my elderly mother, has also been very patient and accommodating to me on numerous occasions. I live out of state and he always calls to explain my mother's condition. I am very appreciative of the care and interest that he shows.

I am very confident about Dr. Polinsky's decisions. He takes an interest in my health problems. I do find that some of his staff do not take the urgency of submitting requests for referrals on a timely basis. I usually have to call back one or two times to get a referral submitted. Even when Dr. Polinsky marks the folder rush.

Dr polinsky, himself, is a great physician but the office employees are really terrible. I needed a wound vac for my condition and waited for 3 weeks for them to do the work. Moreover, I needed a referral for cardiologist and they gave me the information after 1 month, I called them every day and ask about the referral and they would put me on hold or disconnect the phone, very rude.
