I met Dr Kooima for emergency surgery when I severely broke both sides of my ankle on the tennis court. I shared with Dr. Kooima that I wanted to be back on the court playing tennis again. Dr. Kooima took all into consideration, and 1 plate, 12 screws and wire later, she successfully put my ankle back together. After a lot of PT, I run all over the tennis court as if I had never broken my ankle in the first place! I always think of how lucky I was to have Dr Kooima as my Orthopedic Surgeon and thank her every time I step on the tennis court and have the ability to continue to play the sport I love. Thank you, Dr. Kooima!

I was so happy with my whole surgical experience. Dr. Kooima is a wonderful doctor!! She listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable. My shoulder surgery went well, with minimal pain afterward and an outstanding outcome. I would definitely refer everyone, including my family and friends to Dr Kooima.

Dot Kooima explained my problem thoroughly and what to expect after surgery. I’ve had surgery before with my right knee and it was completely successful with her. Now, it’s time for my left knee. I am confident that this will be a great job too.

Staff is efficient and friendly. Went in for shoulder pain, they immediately did X-ray and spoke to Dr right after to review results. I felt Dr Kooima was thorough with her explanation and treatment plan moving forward. Overall good experience.

Had a great visit.

Dr. Kooima is a rare jewel in the medical field. I had one of those "unusual" problems, where a simple operation should have resulted in a month or so recovery. As it turns out, the problem took from fall of 2020, to January of 2022. In all of that time, Dr. Kooima never gave up on me, she never downplayed my situation. In fact, as time passed, we became more of a team, than a strict Dr.-Patient relationship. I cannot fully express how wonderful it was working with Dr. Kooima. I really liked Dr Kooima but had many issues with the admin staff????. I had difficulty getting ahold of someone to talk with about my questions…Once we got my surgery on the calendar there were many details that somehow fell between the cracks…I never received my packet that had very important information also I was told to go to a class but that the info would be sent to me but it never was…but the final straw was that I was told to go to my regular physician for clearance and they would send the orders over … never happened…so as I was in the room with my regular Dr…. (And my doctors staff couldn’t reach anyone … I finally realized this was too important of a surgery ( a full knee replacement) to have so many problems with all the preliminary details… so I cancelled…. I really liked Dr Kooima but had many issues with the admin staff????. Finally a good doctor and she is a woman. Why aren't men doctors this good? Why aren't there more woman doctors?

Great. Took the time to evaluate the problem. And the came up with a line of treatment. Very satisfied. Plus…the pain is gone. Couldn’t ask for more.

First time in this facility as a patient. Appointment was for 10:15 am. I was back in the exam room by 10:38 am. Dr. was very courteous. Ordered xray then went over them with me and talked about treatment options. I was pleased with iinteraction with her and my visit. Other staff members were helpful and customer friendly.

Office visit was Professional knowledge straight to point. Had the answers I had for her.

I saw Dr. Kooima after have three varicose vein surgeries. My vein specialist wanted me to see an Orthopedic Doctor and so I called OrthoAZ and got in within a few days to see if I possibly had a Bakers cyst. I was so impressed with her care and knowledge. She told me what this was and explained everything about it to me. I would highly recommend her to all of my friends. The entire staff of Ortho AZ was wonderful. Wonderful Doctor and facility

Dr. Kooima is a very nice and informative doctor. She showed a great deal of patience in explaining things to me and answering questions. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Kooima is awesome, having fixed both my knees in the past 10 years! She explains everything and shows me pictures (which I really need.....) to show what's going on now.

I received welcoming, experienced and pleasant check-in assistance. Appointment was timely and I was escorted to examining room by wonderful Medical Assistant Zabina. Dr. Kooima was kind, patient and thorough on overview of my condition and need for surgery. Wonderful Medical Assistant Kkay then fully informed me of of Pre-Operative procedures. I am very pleased with my visit. I hurt my knee the first of April and had been living with pain, waiting for the insurance co. to stop putting me through hoops. Dr Kooima is excellent! She took a couple more ex-rays, sat down with me and compared the x-rays with the MRI. She explained in detail what is going on. She never rushed through the appointment and answered all my questions. She set a treatment plan and my knee already feels better.

Dr. Kooima's staff is great. They have been very helpful and has worked very hard on my behalf. Very grateful to them.

I am not a "doctor person." You know, I'm stubborn about going and am sure that I can self-heal. Come to find out, there is no self-healing with a meniscus tear. Dr. Kooima was pleasant, intelligent, caring, and explained everything so that I could easily understand. Everything happened as she said it would, and I healed quickly. There was nothing negative about my experience with her, her staff, and the hospital. I would recommend Dr. Kooima for anyone with orthopedic needs.

I first appt with Dr Kooima was for a 3.5 centimeter tear of my meniscus and a fracture of the tibial plateau. Prior to this, I have not had any issues with this knee. She basically walked in the room and said I need a total knee replacement. She did not mention trying any less evasive procedures at all. I know I am not an expert but I used to work for orthopedic surgeons. Such a major surgery should always be your last option especially because up until 3 months I had no issues. I don't know if she saw dollar signs or she thought I was a type of patient that didn't ask any questions. I have found another physician who will be trying a few different treatments.
