Very impersonal doctor, doesn't read your notes before appointment. I would skip and find a better doctor in the area.

Her staff is terrible super mean shes not a good doctor doesnt care. Super expensive if ur paying out of pocket. And the wait time is ridiculous dropped me as a patient doesnt care about peoples mental health for her being a psychiatrist

Called and canceled two appointments, you know because life happens, had called 4 times since to reschedule, the receptionist talks to you like she’s a doctor, was told I’d have to wait to see if the doctor wants to reschedule me. And there has not been a single appointment that I didn’t wait more than an hour past my appointment time.

Absolutely disgusting personality! Yelled at me and my mother! Didn’t help at all! I came here looking for a treatment plan for my anxiety, and she told me I had a problem in my own head, and I had to get that fixed. Then told us to leave. Do NOT go here!! You will have a scheduled appointment time and wait 2 HOURS until you see the doctor for 15 mins! The office "manager" Carrie is VERY unprofessional and ARGUED with me over billing. She was helpful to a point. Going away to school she said she would help me if I ever needed it because I wasn’t going to be able to come back for a day for an appointment. I called for assistance on getting a new prescription and weening off my meds and she said that she’s not helping me and I need to talk to my family doctor. So she lied to me and isn’t very personable. Every session she asked the same questions that had the same answers and the sessions were useless. She was helpful to a point. This doctor started seeing my wife. Talked to her for one hour and gave her a bunch of drugs to try. My wife then got very aggressive and scared her friends and family. Then the doctor changed her meds and she became very depressed crying, not eating, etc. We called and they wouldn't see us without copay, after 5 or 10 minutes of arguing I was transfered to a manager who flat out said it was my wife's fault. Dr. Sperazza is a fantastic doctor, her staff on the other hand... Minus the waiting (which isn't a big deal - bring a book, mag or read something on your phone), her services are thorough and tangible. Her staff (specifically billing) is unwilling to work with you, and will probably insult you at some point...) Be aware if you have Geisinger Insurance!!! Recently they purchased Magellen (the mental health insurance segment of Geisinger) and the office is using incorrect coding with claims. Being a specialist, if coding is used under generalist codes, and not mental health, your mental health co-pay will skyrocket. If you call Geisinger, they will automatically change the coding for you, so you do not have to pay double and triple, in some cases, the co-pay. Pay attention to the billing! AWFUL!! Always prepare to wait for OVER an hour to see the doctor. The "manager" Carrie the most UNPROFESSIONAL person to deal with. She will not ALLOW you to speak with the doctor about ANYTHING!! FIND ANOTHER DOCTAOR WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU PROPERLY!!

Never taken in any earlier than an hour after your scheduled time, receptionist acts like she’s a doctor

Wish I could give this so called doctor a zero rating. She does not listen to family concerns for the patient and becomes highly offended if you question her. Beware, she is highly opinionated and does not focus on the individual needs of her patients. In addition she is very difficult to understand as her spoken English is poor.

Kept waiting almost 2 hours, and haven't been seen yet. I started seeing her many years ago because I thought she would finally take me off lithium, which is known to damage the heart and kidneys. I was on it for 29 years after which I had to have a pacemaker installed. I now have chronic kidney disease as well. She accepts no responsibility for these outcomes. I do not go here but my boyfriend does and everytime he goes he has to wait for maybe over 2 hours. His appointment was at 6 tonight and its 8 now and he still didnt get in. Not to mention she just pumps him full of meds that I'm pretty sure he doesn't need or doesn't need that big of a dose. He's given him some pretty bad advice as well that she's not in the right to give him. I'm very certain she is a scam, considering many people have the same experience and are equally as frustrated. If I could give her a 0 out of 5 I would. She’s awful. Every appointment (whether the waiting room was empty or not) I’d have to wait AT LEAST 2 hours, sometimes more to see her. She could never get my diagnosis right and when I would ask her exactly what my diagnosis was, she would answer vaguely or just ignore the question. Not only that but I was 14 when I started seeing her and I have sleep problems. She decided that putting me on Seroquel was the best option (she prescribes a lot of seroquel and I suspect she gets money from it). She put me on MASSIVE amounts, like 1000mg a day for SLEEP. I told her I hated the medication but she kept telling me I needed to be patient and let it work. Anytime I had an issue she would up the Seroquel and when I told her i was always tired because of it she would lower it and it went back an forth like that the reminder of my time with her. Also, when I went into a treatment facility they diagnosed me as Borderline Personality Disorder and when I asked her about it she wouldn’t tell me anything. I don’t know if she just didn’t know what BPD was or what be she seemed clueless. Out of the six years I went to her, not once did I make any improvement. Finally, I got angry and told her she’s done nothing to help me and she kicked me out of her office and discontinued me as a patient. I see Dr. Saxon now and he’s AMAZING! I got correctly diagnosed and treated and I’m now 100% stable. My only issue is that I’m stuck on this stupid Seroquel. I’ve tried to slowly wean off with help from my doctor and every time I get severely sick and start having black outs. I fear I might not ever get off this hell medication. She told me that Seroquel was not physically addicting at all and I wouldn’t have issues coming off of it. She completely lied to me and now I’m going through hell trying to get off it. I should sued for negligence or misconduct. Terrible doctor and shouldn’t have a license. If I could give her a 0 out of 5 I would. She’s awful. Front desk office staff was AWESOME, but I waited 2hrs and 20mins for my appt. Dr.Sperazza herself ? TERRIBLE! She will drain pills down your throat regardless, & doesn’t even offer any non pharmaceutical remedies! Pills, pills, pills. Money, money, money. That’s all. Will not return after this first appointment.

She cuts to the heart of the matter quickly. Sometimes you have to be a bit emphatic to make a point. She worked with me to get my current meds working for me.

Every time I come to an appointment, I have to wait 1-2 hours just to see her. It’s ridiculous. For insistence, today my appointment was at 1 and it’s 3 and I still haven’t seen her. She also doesn’t listen to how the pills make me feel. I don’t recommend going her if you want actual help.

If I could leave no stars I would. Her receptionist is a complete jerk, and they do not get phone calls or call back when you leave a message. When they do not get your message they think that they can charge you late canclation fees which is ridiculous! She allows her receptionist to treat anyone the way they want to and speak any way they want and she will defend them. I have anxiety, I don't raise my voice to anyone or give any kind of rude responses in fear of retaliation at doctors offices even if they are rude, but her receptionist honestly pushed me to that level. I've been to a few doctors as I moved states as a child until now and never have I met a doctor (psychiatrist specifically) that needs to see you once a month. It's always three months sometimes even six, there's nothing new going on. She takes no consideration for people that work or have other things that may stop them from taking two hours (that's how long you'll be waiting in the waiting room for her. It's a personal record of mine) out of their day to simply get their medication . Dal writes a script and you leave, and she still gets to charge your insurance for a visit. She is flat, personality less, and did little to nothing besides listen to MY advice on what I should take as far as medication. I understand the difference between and psychologist and a psychiatrist, I know she isn't there to analyze me and have conversation with me, but even some small talk would be better than silence. If you suffer with mental illness of any kind, I would never recommend this doctor. If I could leave no stars I would. Was referred by our primary care. Made an appt which was 2 months out. Finally get to appt day, sign in at office and wait almost 2 hours to see her!After finding out that he was prescribed Klonopin, she immediately turned off to what we were trying to tell her. She is "ethically opposed" and does not prescribe it.She immediately recommended inpatient care which is not necessary.Got a copy of her session notes which had SEVERAL errors. HUGE language barrier. VERY rude to someone asking for HELP!

Does not listen to patient. Suicide is serious and medicines should be adjusted to the patients tolerance. Please be careful.

I decided to go and see her because I wanted my medications explained to me, more than my regular doctor was able to. She pointed out what was wrong with the medications, and changed what I was on so that it was more suitable for my condition. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to medications and treatment. There can be a long wait, but hers is one of the few offices in the region where you can speak directly to the doctor, not through a line of PA's that you may never meet with again.

This doctor cares nothing about her patients. She's a pill pusher and nothing more. Expect a MINIMUM 1 hour wait at your scheduled appointment time...if you're lucky. When you get in her office she will have your next appointment card and prescription already waiting and then will spend about 2 minutes writing on her pad without even looking at you. When I called her out on the unjust wait time, I was abruptly informed she would No longer see me. No compassion, no caring, no consideration
