Mr. Dale S Snead

Dr Snead did a RCR two years ago. Post-op I knew my course of recovery was unusual from the beginning. He sent me to his pain specialist for evaluation of possCRPS. She speculated that it was perhaps nerve impingement and made referral to another surgeon. Dr Snead said I did not need to go. This was 2 weeks post op. I did therapy (joke) they billed one hour for 20 minutes with therapist. At each visit I told dr Snead and his PA something was wrong and thought I needed an EMG. They refused to make referral. By my 5-6 month visit he came in the room and said I had a failed surgery and maybe the doctor I saw at two weeks was right Turns out I have a brachial plexus injury from surgery if it had been addressed in the beginning it likely would not be so bad. I am an NP so I have a clue what good or even sufficient Medicine is. This is unequivocally not. Stay away !!!!

I would highly recommend Doctor Snead if you want results and want to get back to 100% after an injury. He did my operation after a wrist injury from an auto accident. He expects a lot from his patients and will push you harder than you feel you want to be pushed but in the end it is worth it. I had a lot of other injuries and pain after my accident so it was hard to focus on my recovery with him but he would not accept anything less than my best effort. He was always direct and honest and always open to answer any questions. When I wasn't progressing the way he thought I should be, he increased my physical therapy sessions. I wasn't thrilled about it then but I very much appreciate it now. If you are looking for a Doctor to coddle you and feel bad for you, he may not be the one for you, but if you want good results and a Doctor who cares about getting you back to 100%, Dr. Snead is top notch!!

This guy is still practicing medicine? Say it isn’t so. My hand will never be the same after his “healing hands” left me in worse shape than when I was wheeled into the OR. Thought someone would have gotten rid of him by now.

I had to have Rotator Cuff Surgery as the pain would not allow me to function in my daily life. After consulting with Dr. Snead there were no second thoughts as to who I wanted to do this surgery. He was very honest and very direct as to the process and the healing times that the surgery will require. Dr. Snead, and his staff, are very good at what they do and they will never leave you with any un answered questions. If you allow Dr. Snead to do what he does and listen to the rehab program they they will set for you, you will have a very successful outcome. I followed everything they told me to do and my outcome has allowed me to be back doing all the things I had done before within 3-4 months. If I would ever need to have another surgery done, in Dr. Snead's line of work, I would wait however long I had to in order to get on his schedule. I highly recommend him and his staff. I have been coming to MSM for years with my family. Dr Snead has performed multiple surgeries on my son and also myself. He is always professional yet kind, and an excellent surgeon. Even during this pandemic, precautions were taken, and the whole process was efficient and painless.

Dr. Snead and staff have been nothing short of amazing. From my first diagnosis appointment, through the end of my post op physical therapy appointment everyone of the staff members I interacted with showed great interest in doing what was best for me. I would highly recommend Dr. Snead and staff.

I was faced with A severe Rotator Injury as well as multiple tears in my Bicep. Other Dr.'s recommended a shoulder replacement at 48. Dr. Snead was able to repair my shoulder. I am happy to say that I have full function of my shoulder and with no pain. I will not use another Surgeon should I need it.

December 1 marks the 2 year anniversary of my fall. Dr. Snead and his team put me back together with a total shoulder reversal replacement. Dr. Snead is a wonderful surgeon. He repaired my right rotator cuff and replaced my left shoulder. After going to physical therapy I healed very quickly. Today I have no pain in either shoulder. I have referred many friends to him. If you are having shoulder problems consult Dr. Snead ! Thank you

Can't thank Dr. Snead and his rehab team enough for helping repair my elbow. My injury occurred at a time when he was completely booked for surgeries & Methodist Sports Medicine found a way to work me into an already packed schedule. Dr Snead is one of the most professional physicians I have ever dealt with. From his bedside manner to his awesome surgery he does. Dr. Snead is amazing. After my initial exam with Dr. Snead, we had a plan. I was so happy to have an answer to my hand/wrist pain. After giving me choices and together getting the right path for me set, I had a quick surgery. In the operating room, Dr. Snead and his staff made sure I was comfortable and constantly checking to see if I was ok! Dr. Snead and his staff did an amazing job of assessing my shoulder injuries and providing in depth information on my care options. They took great care of me in both the operating room and during recovery. Most importantly, they allowed me to get back on the field and achieve my goals.

My experience with Dr. Snead was exceptional from start to finish. I am a 73-year-old active adult whose left shoulder needed replacement. Arthritis had destroyed the shoulder to point where I could not raise my arm above my waist. It hurt almost the whole day and because of the pain, a good night’s sleep was difficult. Dr. Snead recommended a reverse shoulder replacement and on November 5, 2020 he performed the surgery. An interesting fact is that the “parts” used for the replacement were designed specifically for my shoulder. Dr. Snead had a cat scan and an MRI taken a month before the surgery and that information was forwarded to Zimmer Bionet where they made the “parts” just for me. I am sure this process really helps the surgeon do his job. I spent the night at the surgery center and returned home the next day. I am fairly pain tolerant, so after a couple of days did not need anything more than off the shelf pain medication. Therapy started a couple weeks later and is the key to the long-term success of the operation. Dr. Snead’s recovery protocol was straightforward. It gave the therapist clear direction and provided goals and timelines for the recovery. I worked with a therapist two times a week and performed the recommended exercises three times a day. When weight and strength training began, I reduced the stretching to twice a day and weight training to every other day I was released to normal activity on April 6, 2021 just five months after surgery. I can now raise my left arm above my shoulder and am pain free. I cannot believe I waited so long to have the surgery. It is amazing to have full use of my left arm, especially since I am left-handed. I need to emphasize the point that If you do not follow the therapy protocol, your results may take much longer. Dr. Snead will do an excellent job replacing you shoulder, but it was up to you to do the daily work to insure a successful result. I want to thank Dr. Snead and his entire staff for helping me. The staff is outstanding. As a group, from the front desk to the checkout personnel, they are as good as it gets. I saw Dr. Snead at Methodist Sports Medicine for significant numbness and tingling I’m experiencing in my index finger and middle finger. I had reservations after my initial meeting with him. He was condescending and not keen on fielding any questions. I proceeded with his recommended course of action and ultimately elected for surgery. Six weeks after the surgery I’ve experienced no change whatsoever in the numbness and tingling and now I have a very painful scar on my palm. I’ve not been able to hold things without dropping them. When I tried to resolve the issue, Dr. Snead became very defensive. He was even more condescending than previous visits. At one point he told me God put him on this earth to do surgery. I really feel like he has a God complex. He got extraordinarily offended when I told him I wanted a second opinion. I told him I felt like taking it personally and he said he absolutely was. Dr. Snead was honest with me regarding the surgical procedure and rehab process. Everything went exactly the way he said it would. I’m pleased with my results because his group knew their process and I followed their instructions. This was my third surgery at Methodist Sports Surgical center and if another surgery is required, that’s the only place I would go. Thank you, Dr. Snead, for doing a great surgery on my hand!

Excellent upper extremity surgeon.

Dr Snead repaired my very badly broken wrist, this break caused hand use issues as well- He is very good surgeon and keeps you on track w/your PT and home exercises. I liked him, I would not have had the positive results I had without his skill as a surgeon and him pushing me to keep working afterwards.

Had a shoulder surgery where he fixed the front to stop it from popping out the back with minimal diagnostic imaging done. then 4 years later had to go back for the same problem and he said he hadnt seen an injury like that in a long time. Proceeded to tell me that i was a new patient. turns out they lost my records. then they just assumed id have them do the next surgery

Can you give this Dr a ZERO? He has no bed side manners. He is more concerned with his cell phone rather than answering questions. I took my daughter in for a second opinion and he acted like we were asking to many questions. I would not recommend him.

Awesome! Dr Snead and his staff has always been nice to me when I have been in here. And his PA Thomas is also awesome. When in the office for my appointment longest I have waited is about five minutes or less I would definitely recommend Dr. Snead for Indy ortho surgery that you would need for shoulders or anything else because he knows what he’s doing and is a great doctor

I was a patient of Dr. Snead's for over a year after a complicated metacarpal fracture. He and Thomas were so kind, patient and professional throughout my moths of two surgeries and several weeks of therapy. I wish there was a 0 star option, because I would not recommend Dr. Snead to anyone. I thought he didn't want to deal with me since my injury is the result of an auto-accident, not a sports-related accident, but after reading reviews, it sounds like he just doesn't like any of his patients. Terrible bedside manner. He had his med-student/fellow do my exam, he spent 30 seconds with me and then turfed me to his PA. Currently seeking a 2nd opinion elsewhere.

I was referred to Dr Snead for a broken clavical and rotator cup damage. I was absolutely blown away with the worst exam I could have imagined. He would not allow me to talk about my injuries. He told me that I needed to forget everything any other Drs had told me because I caused my injuries by believing I was hurt like they said. I willed my collar bone to brake and stick out of my chest! He made it clear that he could not care less about my injuries. Such an jerk that it seemed like a gag

I spend every workday working with physicians, I have never come across a physician such as Dr. Snead in my professional career. Dr. Snead has very poor bedside manner, lacks basic personal skills, unwilling to work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and doesn't appear to keep up to date on new research/ EBP Dr. Snead failed to complete a physical assessment on 2/3 of my visits & refused to listen. Fortunatly I have found a GOOD MD who has got me back to baseline after 1 visit!!

I went to Snead for pain in my shoulder. He diagnosed it as biceps tendinitis and ordered PT. An MRI arthogram was ordered, and a follow up to discuss was scheduled. At the follow up, he didn't show me any images or the report written by the radiologist. He told me my biceps tendon was fraying at the top. After no relief, weeks later I got a second opinion from a dr who showed the tear in my labrum and the report from the radiologist saying it was torn. Snead never shared this info with me.

I am a physician referred to Dr Snead for evaluation of a chronic painful shoulder by another orthopedic surgeon. I ended up needing a shoulder replacement for advanced arthritis. He and his PA took wonderful care of me. The facility at Avon was excellent. I only required oral pain meds during the one night stay after surgery. Within 10 days I was sleeping through the night and not needing any pain pills. Now at a year I could not be happier. I have about full range of motion and no pain!!

I went to see Dr. Snead because I had pain in my wrist for a few weeks. Not only was I there for hours, I wanted to cry after my appointment. He asked me where it hurt and I showed him a place on the top of my wrist and the side. He told me that was too vague and I needed to pick one spot (even though both places hurt). So I picked the top and moved my finger about an inch indicating it hurt all along there. He told me I was still being to vague and to pick one spot. He wanted me to pinpoint one place and tell him even though it hurt in other places. Then when I told him I was having pain and also sometimes it felt numb and told him that I wasn't sure if those connected I just wanted to tell him everything that was going on. He preceded to tell me in a rude tone that that makes no sense, those two things don't even have anything to do with each other. I'm not a doctor, I don't know that I was just trying to be specific like he told me to in the beginning. He was so mean to me I can't even believe he even has any patients. he took about 3 minutes to cover the basics and tell me to just go see a PT. He offered no discussion for pain relief or potential prognoses - seemed that i was interrupting his on-line search for something that was way more important than my mere rotator cuff injury.
