Dr. Daniel S. Biggerstaff

This guy did an ankle replacement on me. He never saw me after the surgery and only made available a PA, who said it looked infected (which it did) and gave me antibiotics. I was in the worst pain of my life for 3 months. Despite numerous X-rays by the PA, who said she thought something might be wrong, and was also infected, the doctor STILL wouldnt see me until after 3 months. When he finally looked at the X-ray, he said, oh, the ankle didn’t take and we have to do it again. And that I would likely walk like a cripple like I had been walking prior during the rejection of the implant. I was in so much pain and begged for pain medication and that was still no indication to him he should look at me. These guys are supposed to supervise these PA’s. Not Biggerstaff. I came to find out that a fluoroscopy was in order, months before and a pic line should have been prescribed in addition to the oral antibiotics.

Dr. Biggerstaff didn't hesitate to offer a treatment for ankle issues I've had all my life. His concern for walking health and comfort is unparalleled! He is a superb surgeon!!

Disappointing. Went on a referral from my PCP for a second opinion on chronic problems. Horribly overbooked, waited an hour. Then he hadn’t read a word of the info I had submitted online, so I spent most of my allotted 15 minutes trying to explain everything. Seemed impatient and dismissive. Referred me to a neurologist who does not specialize in foot problems. Looks like a dead end. I left in tears.

It did not take too long to see the doctor. All the staff was friendly and helpful. This was my first visit with Dr Biggerstaff. He was friendly, attentive and decisive. We only interacted for a few minutes and are moving forward with his recommendations.

Dr. Biggerstaff is always pleasant to his patients and attentive to conversations concerning the issues his patients have during care visits. Very professional. He also has a wonderful supporting staff that makes your visits much easier. I reside 60 miles from the facility and his staff reaches out by phone often to inquire about my needs and progress from previous visits. I would recommend him to anyone that needs extensive care for issues with their feet or ankles.

I saw Dr Biggerstaff yesterday for the first time. I had been seeing another Foot and Ankle Specialist in the Winston-Salem area for several years, (10+) with no relief and no answers for what else could be done for the severe arthritis I'm experiencing with my right foot. The injections quit working several months ago, and with no more answers I felt like I had come to a dead end. Upon seeing Dr Biggerstaff we discussed options for what could be done. He was very precise and very clear. I felt very comfortable with what we discussed and would recommend this Doctor without any reservations.

He was very patient and explains my foot issue well.

This was a HUGE waste of time. The front desk was nice. I was took back immediately. I then sat there in the patient room for 55 minutes before anyone came in the room. Then had to do more x-rays, which I had already done a ton elsewhere. These x-rays were never mentioned by the dr. further proving they were totally unnecessary. The dr. spent a very short time with me, and I feel did not taking my foot pain seriously. Of course, they then had me make an appt. to come back in 3 mo. For what?; nothing was done, so why anyone would go back is behind me. I missed my next appt. that there would have been more than enough time to get to if I had been took in a timely manner. I was never even notified there was a delay or apologized to for the near hr. wait. I won't go back.

Dr. Daniel Biggerstaff, MD is an orthopedic surgery specialist in Winston Salem, NC And he done Surgery on my left foot in 2017. I can now walk with my left foot, before I rode knee scooter since 2015 and wore a boot. I had charlot foot. Very pleased with Dr Biggerstaff.

I was referred to Dr Biggerstaff by Dr. Bryan Jennings. Dr Jenning replaced y Hip after a car accident. I respect him very much as a person, Doctor and Surgeon! I respect a great deal. I felt Dr. Biggerstaff knew without any doubt what he was doing. He explained to me very well what the problem was and gave me my options on how to treat. I am awaiting to schedule surgery. Dr Biggerstaff was not pushy at all and gave me clear options on a treatment plan. Looking forward to surgery and being healed up! I am very comfortable in my choice of Doctors and treatment plan!

The first Orthopedic surgeon that gave me his full attention while I was describing the injury and treatment so far. He believes surgery is a “last resort” and believes in trying other therapeutic treatment before that (unless of course the injury or condition really leaves no other option!). He explained everything in depth from the injury itself to each progressive treatment step. I left feeling informed and assured about the treatment process.

Dr. Biggerstaff is very understanding and listens to his patients. He offers you all options to evaluate and make decisions. From surgery thru recovery, he’s there to listen and encourage you during recovery.

I really had a great experience having Dr. Biggerstaff as a professional fixing my ankle, when I met him I could see the passion of his profession and his experience when he was explaining me about the procedure and also he wanted to know about me. Dr. Biggerstaff takes his time to listen and do a thorough exam despite his extremely busy schedule. He made sure I was comfortable with his plan of care before I left. I was seen for recurring plantar fasciitis. His PA, Mark Phillips, examined me before Dr. Biggerstaff, which expedited the time the doctor had to spend, which I feel is very appropriate. Mark Phillips, C-PA, was compassionate & very knowledgeable. I trust both equally & am very pleased with the care I received.

Problem with painful toe for five years, and unlike other doctors, Dr Biggerstaff listened to my history. He suggested surgery, which was relatively simple, fast recovery time, and I have been pain free ever since. Can’t say enough good things about experience. Huge thank you!

Dr Biggerstaff truly desires to work with his patients to achieve the desired outcome. He is very open to solutions other than surgery if possible. He listens to your needs and offers suggestions to improve your situation

Overall, I've had delightful experiences with Dr. Biggerstaff. I went to him 3 years ago for my first bunion surgery. Then again for my other foot a year later. The outcome was initially phenomenal and I felt that I was in competent hands throughout the process. However, one foot was much more severe than the other and the bunion has already returned. In retrospect, I strongly feel that I should've chose a podiatrist. A foot specialist would've better suited the severity of my condition.

There are no words to explain how an incredible surgeon Dr. Biggerstaff is. I had a double compound fracture of my left leg last year and if it was not for his expertise I probably would have lost my foot. I commend Dr. Biggerstaff and his excellent team for a job well done.

Very impressed with him so far he is going to surgery on my heel for bone spurs tearing into my achilles . Will post again after surgery.

I had to have a repair of the peroneus brevis tendon in December, 2016. I had the same surgery 9 years ago with another physician. Dr. Biggerstaff was amazing! He was extremely supportive of letting me try non-surgical options before we had to resort to surgery. I am completely healed and my ankle feels the best it has in years. He is very knowledgeable, professional and most of all very compassionate! I highly recommend him for any ankle issues. His nurse, Melissa, is very helpful as well!

Dr. Biggerstaff is the 4th doctor I have been to over my foot issue and he is the only one who dig deeper to find what really was wrong and fixed my problem. He is the BEST doctor I have ever been too and he is very understanding and really cares. I recomend him for anyone with any kind of ortho issue to see. I have a before and after X-ray photo I share regularly. Before was Biggerstaffs horrendous work on my ankle which resulted in an after photo of a total ankle replacement by a quality surgeon also in the area. I WOULD NEVER trust this man with my family & friends.
