Was a patient of Dr. Byrnes for many years until he stopped taking my insurance. Threw me under the bus.
Instead of saying as a doctor we are looking in the interest of the people and making sure everyone can feel safe during this rough time. Instead of dr.bryns mailing a letter to a senior citizen during corona. he had a 70 year old man go around trying to get a stamp and delivery the stamp to the doctors Office so the 70 year old man can get his test results back. If a doctor would treat a man like this during COVID honestly what’s the point of being a doctor. To sum it up, this doctor and his practice have serious issues with communication, convenience, and patient care. My grandmother had an emergent issue and the soonest his office could schedule an appointment was in 3 months (she was not a new patient, she had been there before). He opened up an appointment for me after I begged because we were concerned for her health (my wife is a doc and we are not overly anxious people, but this was serious). I was not let in to the office to help facilitate communication between him and my grandmother, and he did not give my grandmother any written orders or advice for her new medication. She was already anxious about her health and scared, but he rushed through the visit and she left clueless about the next steps in her care. His office charged her at the end of the visit and did not give her a receipt. Although I was at the office with my grandmother, the doctor refused to speak to me face-to-face, and his staff told me that he would call me. He never did call me back. We made an appointment with a new doc in the area for a follow-up and are now in the process of transferring her records. Overall, we are very disappointed that anyone would have to deal with this type of patient care. There are plenty of docs in the area that are much more careful, patient, and care-oriented. I'm not sure why these reviews aren't stellar. Dr. Byrns is not smiling all the time but is an expert geriatrician which is hard to find. Has helped my 94 year old father with acute and chronic problems over the years, diagnosed and treated pain that the pain doctor did not properly diagnose and knows when to act or lay low with his geriatric patients. We chose him after a hospitalization at NYP where he was universally recommended. I'm not sure why these reviews aren't stellar. He saved my life. When I cat scan for diverticulitis he noticed something on my bladder. After going for tests it was non invasive bladder cancer.

I agree with other reviewers. While the doctor is a lovely, concerned, caring doctor, his staff leaves much to be desired and we will be looking elsewhere for a new doctor as a result. Truly unfortunate.
I love Dr Byrns. He takes time to listen to you, understand what your concerns are, and treats you like person not a clinical element. I have never found his staff rude. You MAY sometimes have to wait but I would rather that, than be pushed along because there is a time limit for patients. And to the reviewer "Carrie Bradshaw" , I doubt Sarah Jessica Parker was there. I love Dr Byrns. Doctor Byrns is prepared, experienced, and he takes a decent amount of time explaining what you have and your options. The staff on the other hand is quite unpleasant. One time I called to get an appointment for a visit and the first available was like three weeks away so I asked is there any chance the doctor could see me that day and they told me I could walk in and wait and so I did. In another occasion I did the same I walked in as I was very sick with the flu and the secretary said it was impossible someone had told me they take walk in. No matter who you talk to at the desk, is not going to be a pleasant experience, whether it is their attitude or the unclarity of the information. Average waiting time: 90 minutes. Totally incompetent! He told my mom she had the worst case of RA he ever saw. When she could barely move we went to another doctor. She had cancer all those years. She died within 6 weeks. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN.
